Yellow Jacket Aerial Nest Safely Removed/Relocated

This colony of yellow jackets set up under a homeowners deck and being they walked around on the deck the homeowner was rightly concerned about the possibility of disturbing them and being attacked. The nest was removed and set up in an area where they would not be a threat to people.

I hate those bastards. I feel like the underground ones are more aggressive. It’s probably in my head but I work outside and I encounter both just about daily. The underground ones are the first to give chase

That was a rather tight spot. Getting the workers to come out was an interesting idea--was this done to minimize escaping during collection, or to make it safer to re-suspend the nest at its new location?

Thanks Bob. I caught those workers so they would not escape and can introduce them to the nest once it is set up.

I've been stung twice in my life, remarkably... both times by yellow jackets.. they are an aggressive bunch.
