@@TheRyan4778 💯Much love to Big O. (In My Opinion), the first season was better than the second. Also, respect to SpaceGhost, Reboot, Fullmetal Alchemist, Outlaw Star, Zoids: New Century, Basilisk, Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X), Samurai 7, The Venture Bros, Hellsing Uitimate, Metalocalypse, etc.... 👍🏾
@@HatchedDragon Yea, the second season was a letdown. Only good thing about it was interactions between Dorothy and Angel. The animation was far too bright and contrasted to much from the first season, IMO.
Most people would probably take it for granted that we can watch anime anytime we want thanks to streaming services like Netflix and Hulu, but I can promise you that without Toonami kids of the 90s and 2000s era would never have discovered the amazing world of anime and manga in the first place. We should be greatful that we had it growing up and that it was brought back for a new generation of fans.
I love Toonami. I first watched this back in 1999 after I bought my first Satellite Dish from Direct TV and later Dish Net. I have been growing up with anime since 1978 w/Battle of the Planets, Star Blazers, Speed Racer, Voltron, Danguard Ace, Gaiking, Robotech and Capt. Harlock. I got back into anime in the 90's but on home video. After I watched Toonami anime in the late 90's I was hooked from Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo, Gunam, Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, etc. I agree. I like watching anime in the afternoon instead of late Saturday Night. I also like Steve Blum's voice as the robot.
Toonami will always have the most special place in my heart. I remember my jaw dropping when I suddenly saw Tom again in april fool's day after so many years.
I would subscribe to Toonami alone if I could. They gave me so much growing up. Those inspirational messages and encouraging words meant more than they could ever know to lonely kids trying to understand the world.
Heads at Cartoon Network dropped the ball when they didn't do anything with Toonami Jet Stream. Toonami had the first legal streaming platform and let it go to waste.
i definitely grew up with cartoon network, toonami and adult swim, i didn't watch everything but it was cool seeing new and different shows after school or even after i was out of school
I think toonami should start their owns streaming app cut out the commercials but keep the bumper presentations as the block wouldn’t be the same without it they could have a set live schedule to broadcast new and old anime all day and have new and old shows that someone could just throw on and watch from the pic of the bunch instead of watching the live broadcast . I think that would be cool
I watched toonami when I was watching attack on titan for the first time back in 2019 Also fun fact: in the early 2000s toonami had contests for video games like there were adds for PlayStation 2 games that you could win along with a PS2 this included games like jak and daxter ratchet and clank and sly cooper heck in sly 2 you can even unlock Tom from toonami as a gadget he’s a little toy robot you can throw to detract guards And this is why I want a sly cooper cartoon aired on Cartoon Network or adult swim or toonami whatever
As cartoon network starts to slide down again I'm glad adult swim is not only getting stronger but picking up the slack of old cn shows and even CN City to a degree. I never thought I'd see the day
Toonami was my gateway to anime, from having to wait for my sisters to be finished watching Sailor Moon so that I could watch Dragonball Z, to a genuine interest of Yu Yu Hakusho, to other animes that would appear later on.
Toonami always will have an impact yet some things have to end in order for new to come forward and flourish. :) P.S: Toonami introduced me to some of my anime crushes.
Toonami inspired me to draw sketches a lot at a time when I just graduated from Full Sail and got depressed cause I couldn’t get a job in the field that I studied in. If not for music, cartoons, anime and Art,I would not be alive today.
I feel what they should do, is bring back Toonami Jetstream and have Toonami be an online Anime streaming service that way. And if its pricing and treatment of employees is better than Crunchyroll or Funimation, it may very well see success in that format.
Toonami brought me Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Gundam Wing, Blue Submarine No. 6 & Wolf's Rain. Respect to Toonami. Homage is deserved.
No doubt next topic is a douse
No love for the The Big O?
@@TheRyan4778 coming soon adult swim video. Stay tuned for that.

Toonami in the 90s to 2000s was a true experience and prior to the Internet streaming advancements nowadays
Toonami is the foundation of my childhood and I will always be forever grateful for it
4:26 Slight correction! Toonami was cancelled on cartoon Network in 2008 last I recall but Yes it's viewership had dropped over the years
This was my childhood and i loved it
Had to pay homage.
It brought anime to the forefront honestly and without it I probably wouldn’t have been introduce to anime as early.
True that
In the 1990s, the public access channel KTEH in the Bay area started showing a shitton of anime that was only available on their TV channel
Didnt know that we had it on UPN back before comcast cable was a thing
Is Toonami the voice of a generation?
By a unanimous vote: Yes
Definitely subscribe adult swim video coming soon

No. Toonami defined a generation of anime fans.
Toonami is pretty much the reason cn was legit in the 90s and why it was better than nick or Disney.
Adult swim put me on into so many different anime like no other in my early upbringing years plus the school days. #Memories
I vividly remember when Toonami introduced me to Naruto. I was obsessed.
The final toonami broadcast was in 2008 , the January 30 2009 date you said was for the toonami jetstream streaming service they had ended
I'm willing to say I messed up on the date I must have made an error in my script
I love Batman tas when I was kid since it came on toonami I love DBZ and Batman beyond
What great history Toonami have! They are clever at making comebacks when they are in demand.
Love this video
Consider subscribing more content on the way
Toonami introduced me to Dragon Ball Z my early childhood
The Speed Racer creator was Tatsuo Yoshida, not Tatsuyo Yoshida. But this video is still good.
Pronouncing the names was definitely difficult
i miss having cable
