When they are holding the mealworm short. Give it the slightest lift ( pressure) then slightest slack. They'll usually suck it in. They think its tryin to escape. AWESOME FOOTAGE BUD !
A calm, friendly voice and way of speaking. Almost soothing, even... like Mr. Rogers goes fishing :) A very welcome change from the over-the-top, faux-excited hyper-blather of other channels. This is the guy you want in your fishing crew. Subscribed.
Man, I sure do love the underwater footage you got. Great work on this one, per usual! I know doing all the extra filming makes it tougher on ya, but I sure do appreciate it!! Keep on grinding 💪🏼 🎣 🧊
Great video quality and so entertaining! As a fellow Fishing UA-camr I know how much of a challenge it can be to get great footage and focus on fishing. When they get finnicky, I love to deadstick the jig for several seconds and downsizing can help too. Thanks again!
Man I appreciate your videos you are awesome whenever I can’t get out I watch one of your videos keep it up man let no one discourage you tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
This was awesome! Seeing them on the underwater camera is great!! You got me more confident about using a small sized rattle bait that I barely used recently. Please do a catch-clean-cook out of those soon, they taste so good in Catch and Cook from Josh and Jay! 😜
I like this perch content! Found a spot the other day for perch on the bay of quinte and the average size was 10 inches, but we have caught a lot of 12s+! It was so much fun I took myself away from the walleye this winter season! Keep the content coming Clayton! 🤙🏽 Thank you man!
Can you show a topo map of the area you are describing? I'd love to see roughly how close to the drop off you are fishing in relation to the shore bank. Love the videos. I've learned a lot. Tight lines.
Experience much flood water Clayton? The lake I go to in north central sask has a foot of water in places! Horrible! Gotta take the sleds lol this warm weather and rain is really dropping the snow! Cool to see a different species!
Clayton, would you please go over your gear and rig and how you stow it all and tow it all. I love little tips like that and it gives me ideas for my own rig. Love the videos and have been watching I think since you started, thanks! Oh and I love perch!
Love the underwater camera and you awesome to CSO. Just know that you're appreciated for all that you do for our world. Entertainment, recourse advocate, shares tips and advice CSO is the best!
When they're doing that thing where they're stealing my meal worms, that's when I go to one of those jigging spoons with a chain. Even some random spoon with a swivel and an added hook. A lot easier to have it end up in their mouth.
Clayton. I watch every video that you put out. I thoroughly enjoy all of your footage. You work very hard to bring us the best of what you do. I just want to say THANK YOU. I learn so much from you. Your trip with Mac was very entertaining. I live in the Twin Cities in Minnesota. My dream is to catch a 40 inch Laker. I know it's a dream. But it's not impossible in Minnesota. I actually bought Dragon Slayers and big Tantrum rattle baits from Frostbite.
Love your videos! You are my favorite person on UA-cam right now. Do you by chance know any crappie spots for ice fishing videos. Crappie fishing is my favorite
It's really easy to poke fun at us NW Ontario guys. We dont have as many trophy fish waters. Prairie lakes are insanely fertile by comparison. I catch so many more big fish when I fish Manitoba. Fish factories out west!
@@thelonesomefisherman7425 oh I know lol. Clayton def has the edge though, if you fish Ontario and Manitoba the fishing, especially for big ones, is so much better west of the border. You cant even compare it! Maximum size might be the same but your fish of the year in Ontario would only be the fish of the week in the prairies. What I am saying is I feel Jay's pain haha.
Well... Just gotta say, I enjoy all the videos, and quite like diversity. I mean, I love the big fish and the strategy and work for the perch... But would most certainly get sick of any one thing, and have to disagree with requests to "get back on the big fish". This video was awesome, and could see a lot of the efforts and struggles with the target.... Their all awesome and I get something from all of them. Keep up the great videos! Thanks!
The underwater camera footage shows what I thought I knew when I used to guide. If you're fishing where you think there should be or know there should be fish, especially if you're getting hits, I always always always go to straight hook and splitshot. Gamakatsu all day. Double or triple the numbers compared to jigging in the same spot with the same bait in my experience anyways. It was always fun for me to switch up and have the one guy in the boat that won't use what's working and just jig his life away when we're doubling or tripling his numbers.
Another awesome video. Great day on the lake. Just wondering what reels you are using? Have you ever had to oil/grease them? If so what do you recommend for oil/grease for the best performance? Thanks
Hello Clayton. I love your fishing show and episodes! Keep up the good work! I have a question about your ice auger, what name brand is it? How many holes can you punch till the battery runs low?
Nice to see you do a perch video. I had to laugh when you put that 9" perch on your huge bump board, good stuff. Clayton, what are you using for you mega live transducer pole? wondering if they make them for the Garmin live scope?

@@differentfins I'm out in alberta, most lakes had 0 limit for walleye due to low numbers, then they exploded in numbers and ate everything, now we can take 1 per day 43-50cm
@@BudBrown245 wow! Hopefully they revamp the regulations and allow more walleye. We can keep 4 here,6 in Manitoba. MB has really good size restrictions though... for all species. Never seen a better place to catch trophies!

Love all of your videos... You and jay should do a Clay vs Jay on ice. That would be epic!
Love the monotony of perch fishing. Not so much the pruney fingers, but the prayer for a 14 incher!!
Right? How I feel too!
I love when they engage when you move the dirt!!
I’ve been waiting for this one! Sooo excited😆 Already hit the like button
Love the underwater camera. Must have for next year
Agree! UW camera is on my list also!

Is it legal to throw one of those baby perch on a live bait rig for big pike?
Just subbed! Nice video and channel!! I love perching

it’s amazing how much that rod bends to the center on such small fish.

You have some of the best ice fishing content. Can you lay out your go-to walleye rods from frostbite?
I sure can. I have lots before in videos. But I’ll add it again in the future
Ice fishing lake George ny I was catching perch with like 9-10 stripes on average which I thought was pretty crazy
Well that would be insane!
Underwater footage is great as always. But its sad there is a part of me that misses the flasher screen. Thanks for bringing out the helix buddy.
BADASS !!!! ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE
Right on bud! Love it. I'm going for anything that bites most of the time ha. Def targeting Lakers this weekend. Cheers from Great East Lake NH/ME.
Anything that bites!! love it!
Which frostbite rods are you using? Great video once again!!
can you do a whitefish fishing plz?
Maybe put a smaller hook on the back of that Jig? The perch seem to be biting at it but not getting hooked.
Howz the snow accumulations out there clayton..?
Here on the big lakes is a $1000.00 day at the dealerships at this time...

Dipstick and Royal Flush
