@jammer1mo Thats true. Overall, do you like moto g phones? I never had one, but i do like a phone with lots of memory, fast speed, good camera, good features.
Motorola is starting to make really good performing budget & midrange phones in addition to their flagships. Some people might not appreciate the lack of updates and yeah, that’s a downside. But I dare you to buy a Samsung A25 5g which does get updates but won’t be a strong performer. All phones have trade offs and Samsung gives you a super amoled display and many years of updates but won’t perform well. This Moto G Power 2024 has lesser updates but will run circles around the Samsung A15 and A25. And I like that eco leather design and for $280 it’s still a really good phone.
So you're saying the budget Samsung is slow compared to this? I'm still using an old g7 power and honestly no complaints. So looking to get this Moto power or Samsung but can't decide.
@@jonfreeman9682 essentially, yes. The A series from Samsung offers a lot except for performance thanks to the Exynos processors they continue to use. Yeah, you can always get an older model refurbished for a good price. If you're that type of person, I recommend looking for a good value phone, and getting it used within a year of release. Like the OnePlus 12R for example, released at $500 in the US, probably on sale close to $380 or something online, maybe even cheaper. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a very capable processor. And the release within a year probably means little to no battery wear on the used market. Old 2-3 year old phones tend to have a lot of battery wear

I currently have a moto g stylus 5g 2023 but they only have one year of update support and i was wondering if it would be worth it to switch to the moto g power
I think this phone might have 3 years of updates, but not sure. Check online about how long updates last. That is a important concern, to keep your phone secure as long as you can.
Could u make a video Abt the moto g 5g 2024 me and my brother are thinking abt getting it and we would really appreciate it if u could do a review so we could know what we're gonna get with the phone?
Hey bro, all due respect, don't think I'll be able to cover it. Just too much going on. It's definitely a step below this. So it's the Moto G, then the G Power, then the G Stylus, in that order (assuming you are looking at all the 2024 models). The regular Moto G doesn't have a 1080p display, so the resolution is lower, only 4gb of ram, and a slower processor, you go up on the screen resolution and the ram and the processor with the G Power, and if you get the G Stylus you go up with an oled display and an even better processor. That's sorta how it goes. The Moto G 2024 isn't bad when compared to other phones around that price, it's a good basic phone. I would prefer it over the Galaxy A15, but maybe I'd prefer the Galaxy A25 over the Moto G 2024, so it depends on the prices you find, hopefully this helps!

Not to knock these motorola phones but I much rather be able to downgrade the screen resolution so it's not wasting juice... the battery life is worse than a pixel because it's wasting battery on flashy stuff I'm not into. 6 hours use means I'll have to be either carrying the charger with me or a battery pack, which defeats the purpose of it being a mobile device. Not having a 720p option is a real annoyance. And this is a flagship edge 50 I'm talking about, this is a feature I'd expect a cheap phone to have and it doesn't exist on the expensive phone... I hope I'm not going to have to jailbreak this just because the company is too stubborn to make basic features.
you can lower the screen refresh to 60Hz but 6 hours also seems a bit low, the reviews seem to suggest 12-13 hours of screen on time, ill have to check screen on stats on mine next time I charge it, so far im making it 24 hours between charges tho.
The lower screen resolution isn't super significant for the battery life though. It may only add an extra 7% you wouldn't have gotten or 10%. I get why you would prefer the ability to change the resolution, but I don't think you'll need it. Compared to most phones on the market, this has one of the largest batteries out there, I only know of 1 Android phone, outside of the weird ones, that has more than 5,000 mAh. Most people could probably do 8 hours of screen on time. Just depends on the person. And I'm using the refresh rate, you turn that down, turn brightness down a little, you could last even longer, maybe 9 or 10 hours if you push it.
Most people aren't using their phones for 12 hours at a time, if they do, that's pretty insane! I don't know of many phones at all getting over 10 hours of actual screen on time. Most of those tests on review websites are playing 1080p videos on very low brightness, things like that. But in real every day screen on time I'd expect some people probably to get 8 hours, maybe 9 hours or more if they turn that refresh rate down. I should have clarified, it does depend on the person though so it's always hard to give battery stats.
It's 6.5" to 6.7". I get it for the record. I prefer smaller phones too, but it's not too much bigger. But I get why it would be annoying. It's still plenty light. But yeah, it's bigger, and if you don't like it, I see why.
I guess I'm confused. Are you talking the super old moto g 5? That phone is smoked by this lol. That phone starts off at 2GB of RAM, that phone has a snapdragon 430, a much worse processor. It's going to be slower, a worse camera. I love the build of the Moto G5. I miss old phones like those! But it's sorely lacking vs these newer phones
upgrade to a trash phone... im good on that. We should ignore moto until they provide at least 4 updates and an oled screen. No hate to u bro i appreciate your content and your effort but moto def aint it for me under any circumstance
I get your perspective. Just remember that Samsung, like the A25, this runs circles around it performance wise. I also prefer the design. But the screen is worse. Every phone has drawbacks. The software one is big though. I don't blame you for being hung up on it
Moto can't afford to give so many updates on budget phone. Honestly you don't keep your phones that long anyways. Most people wanna upgrade every couple years. OLED is expensive. I'm looking at budget Moto or Samsung and both are great.

you can lower the screen refresh to 60Hz but 6 hours also seems a bit low, the reviews seem to suggest 12-13 hours of screen on time, ill have to check screen on stats on mine next time I charge it, so far im making it 24 hours between charges tho.
No amoled no good
Samsung a15 has that but unfortunately no wireless charging
Too bad they made it bigger than the 2023 version now it's a huge brick
No Not really
It's 6.5" to 6.7". I get it for the record. I prefer smaller phones too, but it's not too much bigger. But I get why it would be annoying. It's still plenty light. But yeah, it's bigger, and if you don't like it, I see why.
This phone is not even close to the motm g 5 , the g5 smokes the 2024 power
I guess I'm confused. Are you talking the super old moto g 5? That phone is smoked by this lol. That phone starts off at 2GB of RAM, that phone has a snapdragon 430, a much worse processor. It's going to be slower, a worse camera. I love the build of the Moto G5. I miss old phones like those! But it's sorely lacking vs these newer phones
you need to lay off the crack pipe before posting
upgrade to a trash phone... im good on that. We should ignore moto until they provide at least 4 updates and an oled screen. No hate to u bro i appreciate your content and your effort but moto def aint it for me under any circumstance
OK cool. Get a Samsung or one plus 12r
@@AndroidDigest That's useful info to folks that I wish you would put in the videos to add context. I've got (or used to have) s10e, A15, A53, s21fe, G Play, G Stylus 2022... but I don't know sh*t about processors and the like. Telling me that the G Power runs circles around an A25 really helps put things in perspective.
Better off getting one of the other Moto phones for the price of this device
YOU ARE SO GAY!!!😂🤣
