@@jtbahago I know better than to pick a verse from the bible without looking at the context and other things. When jesus said when you are slapped turn the other cheek, did you just pick that literally? Would you turn your cheek again to be spanked or would your brain not tell you what that passage of the scripture meant? Again, in as much as I dont argue this blind argument, remeber my point is what the bible said that if you want to keep the law, keep all of it, if you depend to be justified by the law , and you fail in any one, you have failed in all. Trouser is not the only thing pertaining to a man if I go to that aspect. The shirts we wear, it was NEVER meant to be worn by women, we dont wear shirts we wear blouse, but dont you wear shirt? You wear tights underneath your skirt, is that for women? Now let me address your question, if you dont condemn farmers who plant yam and corner on the same farm land, pls do not condemn ppl who wear trousers, if you have ever worn a skirt made of wool and a blouse made of cotton or silk, pls hold your skin judgement and take off the log in your eyes first. Read vs 1 to end and see all the abominations listed there which includes all these things I mentioned and tell me why your pastor hasn't enforced other ones on you.

Wearing of trousers for women is very wrong either tight or loose. Even traditions will be judged. Eternity is something that serious and should not be joked with. Jesus is interested in our heart being pure and he is interested in us putting on the right garments.

You are right about tight clothes being immodest. Let’s face it a lot of women will go for tight or very fitted trousers and not baggy/loose ones so this (in a the congregation could be causing a stumbling block for others and this is also an issue. we are meant to be our brothers keeper) culture Does change so it’s unwise to say men wearing trousers is according to culture. God’s standard does not change so we need to know God’s standards are and stick with that- not listen to people who have their own agenda or who may not even be walking with God.

Here's my response to WhatsApp group debating on women wearing trousers.
This issue of women wearing trouser have become a problem in the body of Christ. I will be very brief on my comment on this matter here because of time.
Deuteronomy 22:5
The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
There is no place in the Bible where God gave us dressing code. When God said a woman should not wear that pertaineth to a man, He is talking about transgender(effeminate) having feminine qualities untypical of a man : not manly in appearance or manner. OR relating to, or being a person whose gender identity differs from the sex the person had or was identified as having at birth.
And I want to state unequivocally that woman putting on trouser will not take her to hell, it's rejection of Jesus that takes one to hell.
If I may ask what of the men putting on women's wear? Because the same place in the Deuteronomy 22 said man should put on that pertaineth to woman. Today, men are wearing skirts, for example: Scotland. Even in the Bible men used skirt. So, Bible is not talking about trouser here but woman trying to look like a man or man trying to look like a woman. For example I will not remove my male organ and make it to look like that of a woman because God created me to be a man not a woman.
Our emphasis should be on decency.
Please, let's allow the Holy Spirit to teach us the Bible and we should seek for revelational knowledge

God also does not permit women to wear shirts or men to tie wrappers or Scottish men to wear skirts because these are violations of His Word and they are guilty whether they know or not - Leviticus 5:17

By implication, by God's Word in Deuteronomy 22:5 that was the clothing pertaining to men and if the HOSEN was worn by the Three Jewish boys in Daniel 3:21 who refused to compromise their faith by bowing down to Babylonian idols, it means it was clothing pertaining to men.
As I stated, the New King James Version calls these clothing trousers so it cannot be a garment for women since it amounts to an abomination.
Anything God calls an abomination in the Bible remains so forever.

( This verse shows clearly that there was a distinct difference in women and men's clothing otherwise the issue would not have been raised in the first place. Neither did the people complain then that there was no difference in their dressing. So who are we to say there was no difference.

Precisely so. It's not about the opinions of man, but the conviction and teaching of the Holy Spirit in us. I once tried to wear a tight trouser to church and the Holy Spirit softly told me not to, my excuse was that because it was suit, it did not matter. On my way out, the trouser got torn by a nail ,God knows where it came from on that particular morning. Instantly, I was convinced it was the Holy Spirit telling me to change. So it's not about trouser or skirt, but modesty and decency. If I was going to change into a short skirt, I'm sure it was going to get burnt whilst ironing it.

I quite disagree. The issue of skirt and trouser is known in history. Women started the issue of putting on trousers(which is of man) in the 18th or 19th century France) and that started a revolution.
If it’s not clearly stated in the scriptures(trousers and skirts), buy the Lord made it clear: Man and woman wears.

The source of Africa's disdain for women trousers stem from the colonial master's adoption of men wearing trousers before women. However trousers were been worn in Middle East and Asia by both genders before men in Europe did. It from those regions that Europe adopted them.
In churches that do not believe in women wearing trousers. They allow women to wear hats along with scarf. They allow women to wear suits, shirts and tshirts. They call them blouses.
I have seen churches criticise men for wearing traditional clothes because they include what is now called 'wrapper'. They say 'wrapper' is only for women.

Many years ago, when pastor Damina was preaching tithe, I texted him once and asked him to show me where Jesus collected tithe of money or instructed his disciples to collect tithe of money, he didn't reply. Today he's the champion of no tithe for Christians. Some day, the way he came to be champion of no tithe for Christians, he will also preach no trousers for women. Read 1 Peter 3:3-4, 1 Timothy 2:9, Isaiah 3:16-20, Jeremiah 4:30, Proverbs 31:30, proverbs 7:10. I pray it will not be on his death bed. Amen

Dearly beloved, I had to take time to go through all the scriptures you have quoted here (a few I am already familiar with though). They all talk about decency, or what even Dr. Abel called sobriety in their adorning, dressing, etc.
Pls I'm yet to see the scripture(s) where a straightforward distinction is given as regards trousers being a man's wear and skirts, wrappers, gowns being the woman's.

However, when I did a study on the origin of trousers more than 20 years ago, I discovered without a doubt that it was men that invented and wore trousers and no woman wore trousers as at then and it remained like that for a very long time. In the course of time, it was revealed that one lady, the first to have put on trousers, did so while on community services and that raised an eyebrow. Gradually, women started wearing trousers in some places but it wasn't this kind we are seeing now but the one in which the trousers was sewn inside a gown. Even this modified dress was not very much welcomed in some quarters. As time passed by, more women being enrolled in the exclusively men's profession, women were as a matter of the nature of their jobs, were allowed to wear trousers. The present day use of trousers by women was brought about by feminist movement, which is fighting equality with men but the Bible says that a woman isn't above the man, that women should be subjected to their men. Any culture that came out to challenge the position of a man or men ad leaders, is not of God. So in terms of original purpose, trousers weren't made for women.

Thank you Pastor I used to ask them there was anyone in Bible wearing a trouser. Because everyone was wearing skirts there. Even Jesus he was wearing a gown not trouser. So how come they say trouser was made for man?

If an unsaved man lusts after a woman because she wears trousers, and if that brother goes to hellfire and burns, that woman will not be innocent because it was her dressing that caused a brother to lust and went to hell. I am a little boy, however I think I disagree with the opinion of skirt. In those days, there was no difference in the names their clothes were called. However, it was easy to differentiate between men's and women's clothes in the past. Is the Pastor saying that both men and women were wearing the same thing bcs of the use of 'skirt'? Bearing in mind that what the word 'skirt' means in the bible is not what what we know it as today. However, everyone should allow the Holy Spirit to lead him or her.

Even in the book of Deu. It was clear that women's dresses were different from Men's dresses. Cross dressing was not permitted.
Similarly in our today's world women dresses commonly called skirts are different from Men's dresses called Trousers .

Interchange of names skirt, gown, girdle etc. Specification is that there are dresses that belongs to men and women. God's words are yes and fine, He knows what He's saying whether by culture or tradition there are things that are meant for men and things that are meant for women like dresses and that is true. Read the whole listed laws in Deaut. 22, it's very clear that each of the laws has the penalty attached to it, and their penalties are different. Among the penalties only only, vs 5 is AN ABOMINATION UNTO GOD. Ordinarily, that should frighten every honest believer. Those listed laws are not in the same category, and that is why a teacher of the gospel should come in to enlighten his students properly.

Trousers are mentioned in the Holy Bible as clothing worn by priests and men. Please check Exodus 28:42; Ezekiel 44:18 (KJV) and check for the meaning of the word BREECHES in google.
Read Daniel 3:21 (KJV) to see that the garment worn by Meshach, Shedrach and Abednego was HOSEN, which the dictionary describes as trouser.
If you check these same texts in New King James Version (NKJV), the words used there is trousers so trousers were worn by priests and men as their clothing as commanded by God.
From the Bible, you would know women who served the true living God never served as priestesses.

Well if women wearing trousers is cultural then it by default a lot woman wearing skirts and dresses is cultural too- which makes no sense. It doesn’t need to say skirt or trouser . We all know what women wear dresses. Also if the scriptures are alway la about context this means that the 10 commandments-can only be taken in context which is obviously not the case. I think this teaching is erroneous.
