    Brooke, I had just undergone shoulder surgery when you were injured. Your perseverance and tenacity has inspired me and many others to recover from our injuries. Looking forward to seeing many more great things from you!

    What pissed me off the most is that the repetition counter, no one rushed to help as she cried and laid there waiting for some one to help..the games need way better staff for these athletes

    Freak accident!? FFS CrossFit is an injury factory!!
    Love the bodies but......let's not kid anyone that these freak events aren't potentially dangerous.

      I legit laughed when he said freak accident. One of the prerequisites of doing CrossFit at a high level is you will get injured.

    Injuries are a traumatic experience. Trust has been broken. You've trusted your body to perform a task and it fails you. Rehabilitation involves rebuilding that trust. Just to see Brooke competing at the games again will be a Gold medal in and of itself! This was a great episode! Thanks for sharing!

      She was injured prior to the event. She had a sleeve on and despite being already injured she went ahead and broke her arm. Not really sad but dumb. Now she won’t be able to compete ever again whereas had she just rested for a year she’d recover and be 100%.

      @@Dan-di9jd She is competing.

  • @Dan-di9jd
    @Dan-di9jd 2 роки тому +11

    She was previously injured and wore a elbow sleeve before the lift. Despite being injured and knowing she would need to rest she chose to lift heavy and now won’t ever recover. Had she just waited and rested and let herself recover she’d be 100%. Now she won’t ever compete again at that level. That’s not sad or some fantastic story. That’s just stupid and shame on crossfit community and her coaches for pushing her and now she’ll never be at her best ever again.

    • @Dan-di9jd
      @Dan-di9jd 2 роки тому +4

      @@Milliardo5 yeah it’s sad that the crossfit community is soaking in crap like this. Its not a great story or something to follow. Had she just rested after her previous injury she’d be really great right now far exceeding what she done previously. Now she got a major injury to recover from and it’s going to take years, not months, to recover from and from then she’d be a bit older to compete with the younger crowd. She should change her name to Broke Well cause that’s what happened.

    • @prideofalion
      @prideofalion 2 роки тому +2

      Your argument is so ridiculous. She (a professional athlete) shouldn't compete in the biggest event of her sport. Something she trained the entire year for. Her potential biggest payday. Because she was wearing a brace and had a potential injury. Next time you watch the Superbowl count how many knee and elbow braces you see. Guess those guys should just "rest up" and not play either. 🙄

    • @Dan-di9jd
      @Dan-di9jd 2 роки тому +3

      @@prideofalion you do know nfl players have a clause in their contracts that in the event of an injury they’re to sit out. Every other sport has the same sort of clause in their contract to keep good players on and not cause permanent injury they can’t recover from.
      Except for crossfit. Brooks was injured previously and she even said in a different video that she knew she shouldn’t do it but pushed herself to do it. She could have sat out of that game and recovered and came back next one 110% and probably done better knowing her injuries. Instead now she can’t ever come back. Bravo. That’s not smart that’s stupid.

    • @prideofalion
      @prideofalion 2 роки тому +2

      @@Dan-di9jd first of all, you're completely naive if you think NFL players don't play with injuries. I know it works well for your argument to say that but it's not even close to true.
      There's risk on sport. If she had something going on with her elbow and had a brace on. Yeah the signs were there. But she made a professional decision to compete. So obviously prior to the snatch event they didn't see it as that big of an injury.
      Odell Beckham played in the Superbowl on a surgically repaired acl that wasn't 100% recovered. And what happened? He tore it again. But that's a sacrifice he made to play in the damn Superbowl. This is her Superbowl.
      And your completely ignorant comments about "she'll never return" .. "she'll never be 100% again".. "her career is over". Injuries in sport happen all the time. And ppl come back all the time. You saying she'll never be able to recover is just ignorant. She's already training at a level near where she was prior to the injury. You clearly just wanna stand on your soapbox and preach about something that you have no grounds to even talk about. I doubt you have any actual medical knowledge, or have ever sacrificed years of your life to be truly great at something. Just shut up.

    • @Dan-di9jd
      @Dan-di9jd 2 роки тому +2

      @@prideofalion you're right. That's why we see NFL players in cast, neck braces, and wheelchairs. Everyone knows Tom Brady goes to a wheelchair after every game, that's why he's rarely seen because he's busy parking in handicap spots. It's all a giant secret everyone has broken necks, snapped elbows, and various others hidden injuries they don't show because they just got to play that game. You're also right that the NFL would invest millions of dollars into players and want them to play with a broken legs. During the first superbowl, a guy had both legs amputated and he was forced to play the entire game after crawling on the ground leaving blood trails everywhere.

    I remember watching some of Brooke's earlier videos, and no kidding, I was seeing and thinking that her right elbow was going to be a problem. I gotta stress and say some tough love Brooke - stop pushing so hard to compete in the CrossFit world. It's not worth it, and chances are high for another injury, maybe worse.

      @@Dan-di9jd I was finally able to do a pull up and got real good but i over did it. Even though it was bothering it didn’t hurt so I would continue doing overhead exercises.
