Nice work! That's not a Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) I don't know what species it is, but it's not a Doug Fir. I've killed thousands of them and I've planted thousands of them. As a timber owner, faller, logger and arborist, I know of what I speak. Looks like it has been topped in the past. I would be interested in learning what species it is and what is the location... Any chance it is a Scots Pine??? Bark doesn't look quite right, but Scots Pine is a tall native to England conifer. I don't know if they can reach that diameter
