I know you're not a big Pool guy but he's legit best in Pool. Triple resources, stick to itivness, healing Factor and all the random resource sinks. He's the Pool GOAT
My friend used Bishop with Taunt and What Doesn't kill Me for some heals. It felt absurdly strong for him to use a Taunt, draw another Taunt, then with that Taunt, another one and going through his whole deck while still not dying somehow and healing right back up to almost full HP, ending up with infinite cards. I personally like him most in Leadership, Uncanny X-Men is way too powerful. I agree though, he works in pretty much every aspect and he's balanced in a way like you mentioned. I ended up liking him more than Magik, but Magik is still very very fun.
Bishop has definitely become one of my top 10 favorite heroes. Just a "blast" to play :) You can't run Bishop in perfect defense protection builds, but you can run him with more aggressive Protection builds with Hard Knocks, Momentum Shift, Tackle, & Powerful Punch
Sidekick just existing personally makes X-23 one of my favorite Leadership characters to play, especially with her potential to get 5 Atk, using Go All Out is hitting for 9 at a 2 cost + exhaust. Not to mention the multiple readies with Side By Side and Badger's effect.
Kind of surprised you prefer aggression on him, as thats the one aspect (including pool) that I struggle to really find much for him to do in. The only thing I can think of thats pretty interesting is to do the aggression X-men ally thing. He's crazy strong in leadership and pool, protection looks to be super good too with taunt, and justice seems solid. I have 2 criticisms of Bishop: 1, he feels a bit clunky in that I often end up with energy conversion at the start of the game where its useless, or I will somehow not discard any resources with energy absorption and discard other cards that I needed to draw instead. 2, his rifle and super charged are really overtuned, to the point it is kind of like a Domino, Ironheart, or Deadpool situation where nothing else you add in the deck really matters that much, those cards will always just kill the villain. Overall though, he's still a ton of fun when everything works out well
Based on the Iron Man ruling I'm pretty sure its a max of 8 and you can't double hit for +16. I was really excited for Bishop, more so than Magik, despite the fact I thought she'd be stronger. Not only is he as fun as I thought he'd be, he's actually signifigantly stronger than I estimated, which is a fun combo. When I play him multiplayer theres a really cool combo where you use energy conversion to block for a player, take a hit to the face, and then exhaust block for a player. I run 11 resources and I usually will end up with at least 6 this way, and have hit all 11, healing for 11, shooting for 11, and I'm running pool so I have plenty of resource dumps for all those cards.
The alter ego art to me is actually great. It has grown on me. The worst? Gamora room training is sooo much worse But Bishop is great. When his uniform heals more more damage than you took, it’s so funny
Bit of a strange take on the alter ego art. Obviously art is subjective, but we've had a lot of rough ones when it comes to detail/colour/cropping choices in the past, whereas this one has none of those issues. It's a specific *style* of art, so I totally understand why someone might not find the style to be to their taste, that's obviously fair, but to claim that it's outright bad or even one of the worst out there seems rather strange. If it was a joke then my bad! I've been enjoying Bishop a lot, you really do feel untouchable once the uniform is up and you just shuffled a ton of resources back in with Energy Conversion. Just delightful.
The art conversation is kinda a meme at this point. So yes of course it is subjective but now it’s just kinda said that it’s bad. So I should have probably leaned harder into the meme but yeah. Obviously. All subjective
@@D20Woodworking ah, I feared I was replying earnestly to sarcasm, I was unfamiliar with this art being a meme, my bad. I think it looks neat, and I think we should let Bishop enjoy some beach time every now and again
@mella4376 nah you’re good. Like I said. I should have leaned into it harder to make it more obvious or just said it out loud that it is a meme haha. Oh well. Next time.

Add Sharpshooter for Bishop's Rifle, and that card gets just a wee more bonkers.

Yeah, protection was my first build with him too, and I preferred that green heal build I made over aggression.
And Taunt, too! 😊

For an example of Portal Through Time run amok see Bishop vs. Kang, standard3.
Other than that he’s a,ton of fun to play.

Training room is so bad it’s a work of art at this point.

@@D20Woodworking but let's be honest with each other, it's the worst alter-ego art out there. Nothing subjective about facts. 😂
