I’m not surprised. I visited the Tesla location in Golden Valley MN yesterday morning to order a new M3P and to learn how the FSD license transfer works. I noticed that the parking area was filled with new cars. At least 60. There were even 3 CyberTrucks. Hoping that I could leverage what appeared like excess inventory I ask the Ownership Advisor (or whatever they call them now) if there was an unsold M3P among the inventory. He smiled and said that all the cars I saw except for 3 were awaiting customer delivery. I remember thinking, things aren’t as bad as the rumor mill was saying. In fact, Tesla might be having a decent quarter.
A CyberTruck with a gloss black wrap on it was parked behind my car when I returned to the parking lot. It looked real nice!!! I wish I needed one.

Yeah, it's down. You can't make people buy cars when they can't afford the payments, ask FORD, CHEVY and the other OEMs. It's a great number in this stupid, f'd up, inflationary cycle...that should have been resolved by now. Govt is spending like drunkin' sailors..

True, however Tesla will be banking some of their cost savings (firings and resizing their supply chains to current volumes) and more significantly, they sold off a lot of inventory which will be good for free cash. Forward pe probably still high though.

Another piece of news that is being lost in the hoopla. The EUs new tarriff structure for Chinese EVs eliminates or delays Tesla's most competent competitors in that market. Inconvenient for model 3, but that production could be moved to gruenheide.

Why does Tesla need to make a dedicated cybercab for robotaxi? Doesn't a taxi fleet need all different type and sizes of cars?
Therefore, why not just use the existing S3XY vehicles and maybe just remove the steering and padels?
It will be both, but a dedicated one is better in terms of servicebility, ease of manufacturing, better weight reduction, comfort, etc.

This is second quarter this year where growth is negative compared to same quarter last year. Not good IMO when Tesla has an objective of growing 50% per year every year long term.
No one is talking about the Walmart, Sysco, and Costco Tesla semi pictures being posted on X (Twitter) and I know Pepsi have even more than originally delivery. Elon even said that they will make money in the shareholder meeting.

Thanks for the videos. We need one on how close are we REALLY to FSD? Obviously FSD has to be PERFECT. Any accidents would get horrific publicity. Going 30 minutes without an intervention is NOWHERE close to this. I'm banking my retirement on this, and I'm wondering if I should get out of Tesla.

This seems like the worst period. Even the market are now very unpredictable. Started investing recently when the market prices were a bit high,today I am more than 60% down!.

Tesla remains completely dominant not just in battery power but also AI and everyone knows this as Elon knows *EXACTLY* what he's looking for and appears to be prioritizing AI big time for Tesla now. People who aren't on board have no problem finding work at Rivian et al. for upper management. No one else even has AI for vehicles.

Why has there been such a long delay to updating or refreshing the Model S and X interiors with the new ambient lighting.
Many people are holding off buying a new Model S or X while waiting for the new features. Why the slow roll out ?
The focus on FSD is great but the cars need timely updates to their features. The slow roll out hurts sales.
New features need to be rolled out promptly and not dragged out. The lack of focus on the Model S and X is hurting volume sales.
All the costs for research, development and amortization of manufacturing equipment for the S and X should be written off by now.
It is time to lower the prices of the Model S and X to reflect the reduced costs and increase sales volume. Glad to see the price drop by $2000
Should be more like $5000 drop. You need to be able to pick a desired exterior color and interior color and still be eligible for the IRA $7500 tax cut.
Missing out on the $7500 tax cut because you chose to pick an exterior ($1500) and interior color ($2000) is just crazy.
The funny thing is, everything you covered is all stuff Elon has discussed or predicted in almost every ER call. Sure he’s not accurate on ALL-even many things, but the overall success and progress for the company he has been dead on with.

There was a lot of outside pressure on the stock and the company, lest we forget the sabotage at Giga Berlin, the slow down at the factory in China and the miss of a large amount of cars that were in transit. Then we had the "Elon overhang" on the stock around his compensation package and the decision of the court. The Vote of the Tesla shareholders and weaker demand from other automakers was just the gravy on this messy sandwich that we have been dealing with for MONTHS. Today some of those concerns are in the rear view mirror while others have been blown out of the water. Elon is pumped, happy and eager to move forward (no one can deny that) so these numbers coming after the incredible VOTE OF CONFIDENCE in Elon and a sweet SpaceX test launch the same week made people feel better overall. The Fed Powell is cooing a little dovish as well.... which doesn't hurt and we are past the half way point of the year with big moves in tech that a lot of money stayed out of. Tesla is still very much UNDER WEIGHT in many funds, this is probably about to change. Let's watch this space.

Tesla has posted a second fall in quarterly sales in a row as it faces fierce competition from China.
The US electric car maker, led by Elon Musk, delivered 443,956 vehicles in the three months to the end of June.
This was 5 per cent less than in the same period of 2023 and follows a 9per cent decline in the first quarter of the year.
It was the first back-to-back quarterly sales fall since 2012. However, sales were slightly stronger than analysts were predicting.
It also puts it ahead of its closest Chinese rival BYD.
BYD sold 426,039 vehicles in the three months to the end of June.

Deliveries are only about a quarter million short from where they should be. Yup, that's how far away they are from being back to good. These reports of how how deliveries soared are greatly exaugurated. Deliveries exceeding production this quarter means nothing, because as Tesla shills have pointed out hundreds of times logistics timing can greatly swing quarter to quarter numbers if just a couple of shipments leave/arrive late. It is more important to note that production and deliveries are down YOY for Q2. The question that matters most is just how much more revenue and profit is affected to the downside, as Tesla has been quite aggressive in lowering prices, offering various inventory discounts, and other incentives to lure buyers.
I can tell you that my local Tesla dealer now has about a dozen CT's just sitting there waiting on the lot. I guess those alleged pre-order owners are in no hurry to take delivery of them. Been seeing them there for almost two weeks now.
Deliveries being up means Deliveries weren't down. Does not = 'means nothing.' 🤦♂️

FWD PE is over 100 and why should margins improve if you sell cars with a 0,99% financing rate. Sure Energy storage profit will be solid. But Elon Musk said they could sell cars with zero profit so they can dish out cars to rake in earnings from FSD. I actually believe Elon would go so far as do exactly that. How high are the profit margins on each car that is on sale right now(compared to 2023) PLUS the 0,99% financing rate? They probably make no profit on those cars. Somebody correct me if Im wrong?
As I understand it, Tesla has aproximately $7-10k of margin in the 3-Y depending on the variant of course. The Performance variants have a bit more.
A $40K vehicle, no $ down, 60 months, 7.9% is about $800/mo. Same loan at 0.99% is $680/mo. Over the term of the loan the savings to the consumer is $7200. I'm not sure how much Tesla is footing the bill for these rate buy downs. I would assume they might get a deal of about 2-3% from a motivated lender, or half. That means they will still profit approximately $3-5K per vehicle on that basis.

I've always wanted to be involved for a long time but the volatility in the price has been very confusing to me. Although I have watched a lot of UA-cam videos about it but I still find it hard to understand
A stupid analysis. So they sold more cars "than expected" by miniscule 4000 cars. Big deal; those figures were already adjusted down due to last quarters failure to meet expectations. The obvious big question is - is Tesla making money at all? Tesla has cut prices, how many were leases with potential losses down the line? - how much has that cut into the profitablity of the company? While they did basically meet the reduced expectations - They had volume losses in China of 27% and losses in Germany; total annual production is not expected to be above last year ; but they cut prices .. are they in the red or managing to keep their head above water.
Remember last quarter they reported a profit even though they delivered 375k. So since they dejected 440k cars…..and that includes higher margin car (cybertruck, model 3 performance)….what do you think? Do you still think they won’t report a profit…and look at energy. And fsd subscription….still not convinced?
They made a big push for delivery with .99% APR last month...their profit margin gonna suffer even further.

A drop to break even or worse would of course be a negative. How many of these deliveries are leases? A lease isnt a profit; it should be eventually; but until they sell it; it respresents a liability. How many were leases last quarter? The Entire BEV segment is under huge pressure. Your observation is the Model 3 performance should be a wider margin. Is it? Are the Batteries US sourced or Chinese; if chinese they get no subsidy; this or which ever modesl use Chinese cells represents a negative; same would be true last quarter probably. They Y is cheaper now because the cells are US made?

Agreed however, many see this Q as the turning point for growth re acceleration regarding margins, cars sold and car models in the line up.
Interest rates should start to fall end of this year and a lot of people have held off buying new cars for that very reason or due to economic fears, the average consumer should start to ramp up their spending end of this year well into next, hopefully in time for the Model Y refresh.
A hell of a lot of this companies stock price is reliant on robo taxi/FSD, thankfully progress in that department is doing better than ever. Having TSLA in your portfolio is High Risk High Reward, personally I have faith Elon can pull it off.
Forward PE is EVEN HIGHER .. 85 today, the expectation is FURTHER declines in sales, with NO guidance of being anything more than just a car company.

Any possible turning point is more than a year out... and based on moderate Cybertruck interest, and NO NEW high volume platforms going into production within the next 4 years .. that turnaround, if ever, is 5+ years out.
