We are a family of 5 living life in North Pole, Alaska! Where Santa Claus House is right down the street! Your comment about dreams struck a cord. For many years my son in New Zealand dreamt of having land to grow his own produce and we thought it would never happen because of his situation but when he met his partner she encouraged and helped him to turn his life around and now they have over 4 acres on which they are growing fruit and veg as well as starting to bring back the native habitat for the future.
My admiration to the construction “happy peoples” that work out in the cold. Cannot forget all that work out in the cold.
I used to work at Amazon. I worked there for 3 years here in Houston. 1.5 years part time at a sorting center over by Bush International airport then another 1.5 years full time at a fulfillment center. 2016-2019. I am so glad that Amazon had made the decision to have some kind of center in Alaska. Working at Amazon was great.

Worked @ Amazon 2 years East Coast. They pay well but R bad employers. I'm older, worked in factories/warehouses . So I know the dif. They'd feed ya but ration ur portions. 1/2 grinder then back in line for other 1/2 on 15 min break. No A. C. Hire extra ppl 4 christmas w/o ample parking. U park in no parkn zone w/o blocking another on nite shift ppl came out 1a.m cars were gone bcuz towed. Who does that 2 their employees??? After a year they'll pay ya 2 leave. Don't take $1000 bate after taxes only $700. Inspite of, still a blessing 4 Alaskans .
I also work 4 Amazon. They R horrible employers. Didn't have ample parkn 4 Christmas help. Would tow ur car while ur workn. Out @ midnight or L8r cars R gone...

@@ajborys Exactly ! Which is why U need 2 specify that first. They pay well so they can abuse U. Building I was in had no A/C. & small parkn lot. Fire alarm went off, we did smell fire. All went outside til the o.k 2 go back in from fire dept an hour L8r. It was break time. They didn't call it. I asked Mngr he said "no break bc we were just outside an hour". I don't promote horrible companies just bc pay is better.

I hear that... My Aunt lived across the creek. Had 2 cross the creek in a truck. Along with that is "up the creek without a paddle" Gave my Uncle a Preacher a sign that stated "Paddle Shop". Direct by God, He helped many & loved doing it.

What I recently learned about treatment of amazon warehouse employees....I dont like amazon. I dont trust ANY big stores. They all seem corrupt.
But so many people can’t afford to pay $45 for toilet paper!
We painted our home back about 4 years ago. We picked Polished Mahogany for the main body, Roycroft Pewter as the trim & SW Sommelier for the upper peak area above our two front bedroom windows. We love it!
I live in north central Florida, near Daytona Beach. We got an Amazon last mile delivery station in Daytona Beach a couple of years ago. Now we can get things next day sometimes. We had a distribution center open up nearby this past summer.
My brother lives near Atlanta and he can get some stuff the same day. Believe me, we are grateful for it.

I am really enjoying watching your videos. My family left Anchorage when I was about 3 months old, and your videos give me an insight on what everyday life is like in my birth state that I don't remember getting to see.

Same day if order early enough or next morning . love there grocery list and what neat is they take snap so that very helpful for some people. Texas here. Glad little man and you are ok.

I live in DFW, we have two Amazon hubs and the airport they land at is close to my home. Some items are same day delivery. And all of the Whole Foods items, we get same day.

We had Amazon Prime for a few years and this last year we opted to pass it up and just go with regular shipping times. We realized there are very few things that we need to have shipped overnight or in 2 days. We still go with free shipping when we can, we just end up waiting quite a lot longer. We also realized we were using other sources for movies and rarely from Amazon. It's worked for over a year now and we have decided to stick with it. We still do appreciate what Amazon can offer despite its not always glowing reputation.

We live in a small town in Western Massachusetts and our Amazon deliveries can take 3 days to a few weeks. Never same day shipping. It’s awesome that you will have another option for deliveries, and definitely a plus for the village’s.

We are doing a dark grey with white trim on our house. Our house is currently beige, but we put on a new porch and painted it the new colors already. We love it!

Here in Southern California most prime things come next day but some things do show up same day.
I am in the UK and I get "next day" for Amazon Prime - 95% of the time - enjoy your channel thanks for sharing x
I live in Minnesota, about 75 miles north of Minneapolis. We do not get same day Amazon shipping here. I have a shopping list of items that automatically ship once a month. If I place a separate order (which I often do), it will arrive in three days or longer, depending on what it is. Other companies sell through the Amazon website and a lot of those don't have free shipping for Prime members and their shipping will usually take longer. Once in a while, something from Amazon Prime will arrive in two days. I think once or twice, it arrived the next day, which is pretty exciting!

My boy and I are in Massachusetts. We can get some things through Amazon Prime one-day. On many item listings, there is a box to check for "get it tomorrow." Normally, we're not in such a hurry, so things show up after about two days.
I saw cresline pipe !!!!! It is made in my hometown !!!! It travel about 3750 miles from here to there.
I live in Jamaica and every single thing takes weeks to arrive. If you want to order from the states you have to use a courier. Literally order and think well I will receive that in a 6 to 8 weeks.
My grand son works for Amazon here in DFW area . He has been been there for several years. Prime is always here. So

Oh and here in the Yorkshire Dales (rural northern England) Amazon Prime is next day. Sometimes if you order something at 12;30/1am you can receive it at around 10am.

I live in California and since we are in the mountains we typically get our Amazon Prime packages in 4 days but sometimes it takes a week☹ especially when it snows.

Toronto area has certain items for same day but you have to order in the morning and it gets delivered by 9pm that night.
I live in Detroit Michigan with a fulfillment house a few towns away and since the pandemic we haven’t had next day even with Prime.
We have Amazon prime and we rarely get it within two days. It’s generally 3-5 days sometimes longer. We live outside of Seattle.

When we lived outside Seattle we had some things on same day, but usually next day. We moved to a community south of Huntsville, AL and it's now 2-5 days depending on who is doing the fulfillment.
Wish we could move up there. Texas is getting to crowded, but my body hates cold weather.
Amazon takes 3 days usually, post office takes 10, depending on where UPS will take 2 to 15 days. Everything goes to San Antonio and when they get a truck or plane full they'll come to the valley.

Living in Seattle we do get same day, along with Amazon Fresh get groceries normally same day. Give a 2 hr delivery window to pick from. It is great. My son that lives in Sumas, wa gets next day delivery on occasion same day. So happy that is hub will be big help to the whole state of Alaska.

I read that the Cruise lines are promoting "dry cruises"! Princess has lodging and can still offer their on land excursions...ypu just have to fly to Fairbanks or Anchorage. This is awesome for Alaska tourism!

When I lived in Alaska there was no Amazon but of course we still ordered from the lower 48 and what I remember most was hoping the planes would even land where we were at in Yakutat. So we knew to order Christmas in Sept=Oct so it would be there in time for Christmas. And pray it wouldn't be snowing so hard they couldn't land and our packages would fly on over to Anchorage so we would have to wait more days for it to be shipped back. Yes we have one day Prime in WA state, in fact we have a shipping place near where I live so that was great as that was jobs for many people

Yes we get same day delivery from Amazon here in Gilbert AZ.
Keep in mind a sorting facility isn't a fulfillment warehouse. At a sorting facility they take in packages already ordered and packaged and sort them into various routes for onward delivery, so you "may" see some improved times in the Fairbanks area, your selection is still the same and being picked, packed and shipped in the lower 48.
Amazon my favorite store now. I can get somethings overnight. But usually takes a full overnight then day. I’m in Oregon. It’s amazing what you can get on Amazon. I got a small freezer delivered right to my door on a third floor locked apartment building.
I live in Hillsboro Oregon. We have Amazon facilities here and in Portland and other area's. Pre pandemic delivery would be 1-2 days, occasionally same day. Since the pandemic I've seen 2-3 days as the norm with some things just getting lost or cancelled and some deliveries taking 5-8+ days.
We also have Prime Now and Amazon fresh but it's just a 2hr delivery window and sometimes they're so busy you can't even schedule a delivery at all not even several days out...other times the windows fill fast and you might get a delivery window from 10pm-midnight or 6-8am or say order at noon and get 2-4pm the next day.
I live in the Wisconsin suburbs and we get Amazon next day and second day delivery depending on the item. Same day delivery is only available in the citys and immediate suburbs of the citys with very large populations like Milwaukee & Chicago areas for example.
Since I'm not in much of a rush here in SoCal, I have it set up so that my Amazon deliveries are on Tuesday. It means that they're made in 2-8 days depending when I order.

Prime Now is a subset of Prime that offers a specific set of items for same day, some as soon as an hour, delivery. Amazon Fresh also offers same day in specific regions.
Indiana here- Amazon prime 1-2 day. Couldn't live without them. Wonderful during this past year with Covid. Didn't step in a retail store at Christmas.

Here in Vancouver ,WA, our Amazon Prime comes in 1-3 days, never same day!
In Michigan pre Covid we usually had Prime delivered next day but, now it’s mostly 2-5 days. So excited for the possibilities that will come with your new distribution location😊
NE Ohio here: Amazon Prime is usually 2 days, maybe longer during the holiday season. I think they can only do same day if you live near a distribution center.
