Couple of comments:: His opening remarks that format modification accessories and other viewing modifications are available if you can find the parts is wrong. Other models had various combinations of such available, but in the case of the T, what you see is what you can get. It was an introductory version designed to be cheaper. Non-Rollei screen replacements are available to brighten it's unspecacular viewing screen from the 1950s. The T is a full Rolleiflex of its day, meaning that it has that precision and buttery operation of its more expensive brothers, what Leica is to other 35mm rangefinder cameras. The Zeiss Tessar lens was less expensive that the Planars and Xenotars, and it is performing at its limits in the Rolleiflex, but is still an excellent lens if used properly. I've never owned a Rolleiflex, but my friend has have one for almost 50 years. For him, it is a keeper. I just never warmed tot he 6x6 cm format.
So I have the original manual for this camera, Rolleiflex T, and it describes on pages 28 to 29 how to install the masks to get 4 X 5.5 or 4 X 4 which give you 16 shots instead of 12. I also looked inside the camera body and found the switch which you can press and the film counter changes from showing 12 to showing 16 frames available. The mask has a tab which pushed in this switch when installed.
