There is an elevator similar to this in Portland, Or at the SW waterfront Oregon Heath and Science University at the Center For Heath and Healing, travels up to a pedestrian/bike bridge crossing over I-5. Roped hydraulic, I was thinking they would have gone with a geared traction. However, with low to moderate traffic speed was not needed hydraulic was less expensive.

As much as I like the fact that this elevator is still being enjoyed I think it could use a cleaning, the windows are filthy and there sounds like there is something in the shaft HVAC system
Edit: I later found out this got modernized again

I think they'res a similar elevator like this in Nashville. That's for the pedestrian bridge which you can take to get over the river to downtown from Nissan Stadium.
It's really bizarre to have a landing to nowhere too with this elevator. Good thing it's locked...
