The Prof didn't really address the questions very well. Ever since I embarked on a self discovery mission as a Guan, I have discovered a lot that are completely different from what has been written by Akan historians.
Guans have migrated from the old Ghana/Mali empires to present day Ghana. Their traditions especially the Gonjas are that of ancient Hebrews. In history The ancient Israelites migrated to ancient Ghana, Mali nd and Songhai. Gonja indigenous names are Hebrew names. Names such as Moshe, Adama, Zekariah, Maata, Dinah, Meri Yakoba/ Jakoba, Suale which could be Saul just to mention a few. They are not even aware of this facts because most of them converted to Islam and naming their children Muslim names.
Not all Guans migrated from old Ghana/Mali. Guans existed in the West African region prior to these Empires and Gonja happened to be the group that ended up in Old Ghana/Mali mostly dwelling among the Mande people, however, a prophecy instructed them to move south-east to a land where they will become great. Upon arrival they realised the people living in the region spoke similar and unlike them, the Guans only had High Priests as leaders. The origin of Guans is the Great Lake Valleys where lake Chad is currently located. Their migration was in all directions and those who went west are the ones who ended up in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Togo, Benin, and even Nigeria (Okere). Guan are a priesthood people and had a Chief Priest as their leader instead of having a King like most other ethnic groups. They are highly spiritual and wise (their approach to problem solving were based on ancient practises) and this resulting in the Akan calling them Guans (Dwan). They are also very crafty that's why most goldsmiths were of Guan origin because they started working with iron first. The formation of Ashanti Kingdom was initiated by a Guan Priest, Komfo Anokye. On the issue of Hebrew, I can't say much but there are Biblical practises that are similar. Guans were forbidden from marrying a group of people in far west called Drui Ese - They were super humans and were usually feared but somehow some Guan women managed to have offspring with them and these hybrid children influenced the spiritual practises of Guans. Recently there was a DNA study in West Africa that identified a ghost gene in some West Africans. That gene belongs to the Drui-Ese.
@@benjaminamoah8676Good history. These Drui-Ese people, are they in Ghana or elsewhere in Africa? I know the Gonjas taboo sleeping with the white men and I think because the whites don't circucise their males. But these days, Gonja women are even marrying white men.
@@inno3912 Drui-Ese were like gods in human form. They were able to move the earth and the skies anyway they wanted. They were black and looked just like us but were nothing close to our being. They abused the earth, and everything habiting the earth. These are the same people the Greeks wrote about referring to them as the Atlanteans, I think... They disappeared after the great catastrophe.
God bless you, history is very important 👂👂

I agree with you
