Because you need to unplug the windows switch, I like to roll down the window first. 1. Easier to put the door card back on. Door card scratch easily though, so if it's not your track car, don't put it on concrete floor. 2. You can check if the speaker is hitting the window glass just to be sure. My learned lesson spending a lot of time sound proofing with the doors.
Put the foam cup baffles in there! To protect the back of speaker from moisture. I'm in middle of doing my 02 wrx wagon. There also is moisture in the doors. Xtc or boom mat are brands I've found for that. Nice how someone went through the trouble to do the sound deadening... to the inside of outer door panel! I've been doing to the inside facing panels, thought about doing inside of outer like that. Maybe will do
All these subbaru speaker videos use coax speakers. I dont think thats a good idea as oem seems to be 2 way. They can be crossovered and then the new tweeter is useless.. And old crappy tweeter still in use. But hey, still very useful for those who need to see inside the doors to order stuff..
Proper audiophile equipment that wood is... as seen on nearly 100%* of wood speaker housings that I've looked at... (*actual statistic may be different from stated)
Yeah, kind of agree except not best for moisture. Probably better to use some kind of plastic to make those adapters. Someone definitely went through the trouble to do a pretty good job before. Upgrade really would be better to put a 4channel or some decent aftermarket amp, with higher quality speaker wire, little bit thicker gauge- 12 or 16. Then of course a sub set up would be sweet also to go along!

Wood is great for speaker adapters, better yet use mdf, just seal them with resin or paint.
