@@coffeeshopfit ah! Immediate friends! You know, I heard from a person or two that they found the observations in the book kind of basic. But maybe that’s my favorite part. It was so straightforward and clear. There was no getting around the truth what he was saying. I found that book to be very impactful And I’m glad you did too!
Well done for listening to your gut and taking action. I'm also on a similar journey, as I have dumbed my Samsung smartphone as much as one can really. The app I use to do this is called Minimalist Phone - it makes it look like a Light Phone. It's true you realise what is actually essential to your day-to-day and how much is just fluff. Carry on and let us know how it goes!
I’m obsessed with these little simple phones and have considered them so many times! I’m an artist so I take pics of my work, post, take pics while I’m out for inspiration, etc. ugh. I might do what you’re doing and keep my smartphone and just use the light phone when I’m driving or out with my family.
@Sarah_Stacks forward! Ok, jokes aside , did too bought a "dumb phone" Nokia 800 tough, it s a brick with t9 keyboard and hotspot, I can do some light Google/Wikipedia search, like a guacamole recipe or where did grapefruit came from. Doomscrolling is impossible. Cons: can't receive pictures anymore , which is a bummer, once mom tried to send me picture of medicine she needed at the time. We also have something else in common: I like to draw and write in journal, the latter helps clean the minds, it's wonderful.
This makes me want that phone but I do still need some apps like I Instagram from time to time. I think I'll try to dumb down my smartphone for a similar result
I've seen some great videos about turning your smart phone into a dumbphone... that's a great option! I've also found workarounds for using instagram on a desktop... not sure if they work still as this was a few years ago: www.lifewire.com/how-to-use-instagram-on-a-computer-pc-or-mac-2654648
Once I heard you mention Four Thousand Weeks, I knew I had to subscribe. ❤ Such a great book. I’m curious to learn more about you :)

This makes me wanna get one but I’m in college so idk 😭
It would be tough, I bet. But doable if you keep a smartphone and treat it like an iPad!
