    I use this on my MKII with a DonnyFl Tanto and the dB is still reasonable. Yes, a little louder but normal, as you’d expect without the OEM shroud. Mine is a .25, I shoot the Zan 33, 35 and 37gr with maximum tunes at around 1000-1020fps. Very accurate but all the Zan’s in both .22 and .25 tend to shoot great from 940-1040fps. The reason I’m commenting though is because on my M3, I have a tension shroud I made, similar to what you mentioned. I used a lock nut up front for stiffening the barrel and then removed the rear of the OEM shroud and slipped it over the carbon shroud I made. It screws on tightly up front in front of the lock nut that I machined. The OEM shroud is centered with o’rings that also stop air blow by out the rear. It is held tightly in place midway up the shroud with a TRS rail. It’s stiff, the OEM shroud over my set up keeps it very quiet and super accurate, shooting the Zan 30.5gr at 1050fps. The TRS rail covers most of it so it doesn’t look goofy. I’d post a picture here but can’t. There are close up pictures on my Instagram. kevinjstoughton Have a good one. Stoti

    Love my impact but honestly there’s just way to much crap to go along with it. Today I killed a starling at 231 yards and a coyote at 239yards with my Vulcan 3. I know that sounds like a load of shit. But it’s the honest to god truth. If I had to give up the impact or the Vulcan it wouldn’t even be a question. I’m shooting 49.5G nsa slugs 970fps from Vulcan, and it’s consistency is absolutely mind blowing. It doesn’t matter what day of the week it is. That gun is absolutely shooting within 5fps of 970. And the barrel is rock solid!! When accuracy starts to fall apart I know it’s time to clean barrel and I’m right back on target. Honestly think 970 is a bit much, thinking of slowing down to 940-960 if I can keep same 1 inch accuracy at 100 yards.
    EDIT: yes my impact is amazing! And yes it can shoot slightly better then my Vulcan when I’ve got it perfectly tuned, and haven’t bumped the barrel. But keeping it perfectly tuned and never bumping the barrel is the tricky part. Yeah sure I can polish regs. And add barrel stiffener. Ect ect ect…. But I’ll take the gun that needs zero after market parts built like a tank and never breaks or looses its tune 10 out of 10 times.

    I have an M3 700 mm barrel, slug power kit, carbon sleeve not glued, standard superior liner 1:16, sumo moderator, in .22 with a barrel clamp and two delrin spacers bettwen the clamp and the barrel tuner shroud, in this way when I screw the shroud in towards the spacers and clamp, it creates tension in the shroud, as much as you can manually torque up the shroud against the clamp and spacers.....very simple solution, you only need 2 pieces of a 14mm ID x 19 mm OD Delrin washer and a barrel clamp that is screwed onto the place of the barrel front support....my groups also improved, I was shooting 34 gr at 960 FPS, 0.6 MoA at 54 yards...still fine tuning, hopefully I will find a better harmonics and decrease slight the group size...2nd regulator 140 bar, macro 16, Micro 4.2, valve roughly 6.5 to 7 lines....

      @@PaulHamM3 the other benefit is that looks really neat, you dont even notice the black spacer washers between the shroud and clamp...it does not even look like it is tensioned, it just looks like a barrel tuner, which also keeps the gun quiet....I got M10 Delrin black washers and drilled 14mm hole on them because I could not find anything on the Internet at all with those dimensions, but certainly everyone has a drill at home....you probably will have to buy a drill bit 14mm from B&Q or something like that....half of the barrel towards the breach block is held very tightly by the clamp and barrel screw at the transfer port, and the other half of the barrel + shroud is under tension....it looks very nice, not visible to the ordinary Joe:)))...

    Just found your vid as I’m considering buying one of these kits. I was, additionally, going to include the carbon fibre stiffener that fits directly around the liner - did you consider one of these or is it unnecessary? You do answer one concern I had - namely the likelihood of additional noise. Did you ever find a shroud to fit or, did you go down the larger mod route? Heat it up a little until some smoke starts to come out. Thanks for the comment, firstly let me appologise for the confusion when i said "cracking" i didnt mean the slug is breaking the sound barrier, i meant that the muzzle report is extremley loud without the shroud fitted as this is what helps keep the sound down. Check out my other video and you will see how i remedied this issue without having to buy another sound mod. On a seperate note i am currently in the process of getting another fx rifle ( .25 crown) and i will be getting a donnyfl sumo,so i might do a little video on what mods are quietest downrange. When installing the 800mm and only the new block that clamps the barrel you can easely screw on the old shroud for only 2 or 3 turns, then measure the distance between the schroud and the block and make a piece on the lathe to fit inbetween. This way you can tension the 800mm barrel using the original shroud. I think that you could use a longer shroud from the 800mm .35 barrels but i am not sure because the short shroud looks kinda weird. I'm also working on a super moderater to fit the 800mm tensioner kit. What i also notice is that your valve is verry far out to the front and that makes me think that you installed the hammer power kit and spring and also "THE RUBBER BALL". With the newest models M3 you realy don't need that rubber ball because there is a rubber stop in the valve. So when you take out the rubber ball you will gain travel in the valve and also gain power and you would still be on line 4.

      @PaulHamM3  Рік тому

      You have some great ideas my friend and the one about the super moderator sounds like a excellent idea. As for the front valve on my M3, everything on my M3 is a early standard model and i dont have any extras such as a slug power kit or any rubber balls fitted in the valve, i was aware that some people tried to fit the slug power kit to there early M3s and ended up having issues but i didnt bother, my valve is 14mm off the block and gives me excellent accuracy and consistancy, i do have other tunes but i prefer this one as i get the best performance out of my M3.

And also the bark that comes with the tune to 40 grain slugs is at this time (without goog silencer) just too much and not backyardfriendly.
