Dream machine! It's surprising you move around that much inside the cockpit. Viewing the 6040 from the outside, it doesn't appear to budge at all. Nice work, though. Efficient team in place. Nobody waiting for anybody
It’s just the particular rock I’m digging, it’s not always like that, using the machines weight to break the rock out. If every day was rocking around like that I’d give it up 🤣🤣
jesus i remember banging myself to bit in the 120c a few years back on hard limestone ! to tight to blast so had to keep trying to peel it off ! hard going on the machine and operator ! so much so i popped 4 vertebra in my lower back ! part n parcel of the job im afraid but wouldnt of changed it for the world ! nice vid by the way
What would give a younger guy like me advice for operating I'm trying to get into be able to run one of these I'm 21 now i always dreamed of running one of these
Light loading as these trucks have huge hungry boards, good positioning of trucks but not smooth enough when filling up that bucket. The dirt should be rolling in, if you know what I mean from one operator to another.
When the dirt is blasted properly it does roll in 😉 That machine doesn't have the break out power to glide through that particular RL so in order to achieve full buckets the machine weight needs to be used which sucks for me as the operator but every bucket taken is one closer to another beautiful double bench of rice bubbles 😉👌🍻
@@Robgeorge1171 love to mate but filming these days is much more difficult due to restrictions on camera equipment on sites unfortunately. You'd definitely like my digger for the last 12 months, a brand new Liebherr 9800. It's an absolute beast 💪👌
There used to be but seems are small and costs are high, 2 companies went bust;drove terex 100 on one before I got onto the levers, would love a shot on a machine that size.
+brian wilson ahh bugger. That Cat digger is about 400 tonne. It's electric over hydraulic so there is a slight delay in operation but once you get used to it jobs right. I'm pretty sure Cat bought out the O&K diggers and is basically a re vamp. Has 2 separate engines and overall really not a bad digger to operate. That one only had about 3000 hours on it at the time I shot the video. That dirt was shot well and was fairly easy going too, sometimes it's as hard as a bulls forehead and not much fun to dig. Hands down best production digger I've operated would have to be the Hitachi 5500 though. Average about 45-50 tonne a bucket on it and seemed to have way better breakout force comparatively. Come to Australia mate, they are literally screaming for operators in many mines across the country.
I like how the dozer is keeping everything neat. To bad they don't show more of that.
Hi,
And many thanks for the upload. It looks pretty hard going here!

@@Wozzanator2404 Damn, I hear good things about that model. Are you loading 793 trucks and how much bcm you do do in a shift?
@@Robgeorge1171 loading Liebherr T282 trucks and around 35,000 bcm
Godd Stuff, what site?
Why does the boom bounce when loading the bucket, looks like a rocking horse for the operator?
Must be some HARD stuff. I'd hate life workin in that all day.
+Gavin84w Its the only way to fill the bucket efficiently.
Hard rock sucks but we cant dig rice bubbles every day
+Travis B Yeah it's a shit go
Wozzanator2404
how many operators would not know that
What's up with the changing numbers on the display to your left?
Tonnage. It's compounding tonnage.
Average of about 35 tonne per bucket.
+Wozzanator2404 thanks!

Thought you would have abit more room in the cab than that.
No metal music ??
Fun fact: the controllerbis so small but the caterpillar 6040 is bigger
which dozer is that on the bottom there?
Looks like a D11T
it looks like a cat d11
+runningcolt A D11t mate, good dozers.

Average tonnage is the weight of my wee machine
Haha Brian yeah I used to say that too!
Swinging the big rigs is fun to me.
I'd love to but open cast shut here in Scotland, quarry life for me
+brian wilson Scotland hey, im guessing no mining over there mate?
This is in an open cut Coal Mine on the eastern side of Australia.
