Who is God? HEALING AND FORGIVENESS Sermon
We will read the Bible together as we examine this topic.
Why are we studying this?
*As we read we should pay attention to context and whose speaking: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit
*To understand the One Accord, 3 separate entities NOT a trinity (1 person acting as 3)
*Right belief and to do what we are called? To praise the Father and to share the Gospel
To build correct relationship and part of that is knowing what to call Him and how to pray to Him
Who is God?
I. Characteristics of God: Sovereign, Steadfast, Grace, Mercy,Just, Nurturing
Healing-How do we know we need healing? What are you holding onto from the past or currently that you need to let go of?
•Do you find yourself changing subjects, when brought up by friends, family, tv, etc.? Affected by physical reminders?
•Certain times of the yr when more affected by words of others, pain, etc.?
•We all need healing from Generational curses- our family names, our childhood, lessons being passed down and lack thereof
•We are to use prayer to seek God’s healing, God of Relationships/Communication/Verbal-Speaks things into existence
Forgiveness: In order to heal, we need to forgive. Healing is mental and physical. Forgiveness is verbal. Healing and forgiveness start in the heart, moves to the mind, and comes out through your words and actions
II. His Names
Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust and not be afraid.
The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song
He has become my salvation. (Isaiah 12:2)

1. Read Genesis 22:1-14 What did Abraham’s experience reveal about the character of God? What did God do for Abraham?

II. Jehovah-Rapha (God, my Healer)

VI. I am Who I am and YHWH (God and God alone, use these terms sparingly-3rd Commandment ) Exodus 20:7, Psalm33:20-21, John 7:16-17 John 12:47-49
VII. Judgement- The only one with the authority to judge us-within that He uses His law, which Jesus came to fulfill. Only judged for what we know and the resources He provided to us.
VIII. Alpha AND OMEGA Psalm 62:5
IX. “The Lord Your God”- Scriptures concerning obedience (God is the Head, Jesus and Believers are to follow God, One Accord, but not the same entity )- not a trinity

2.8 Lamb of God.-FOLLOWER of God ( Their Wills align)
The GREAT Shepherd-guide and usher; rears sheep (rear: bring up until they are fully grown- we are children)
