Done. Got it along with some of their shaving soaps that I see people say so much good things about. I haven't tried them so now I got them :-). Thank you very much for taking the time to reply.
I love Barrister and Mann. One of my first soaps. Others are I love are Caties Bubbles, Art of Shaving creams, Wholly Kaw, and Mickey Lee Soapworks (no longer in production). All great.
In my opinion the older stock Simpson 2-band is more soft in feel and has softer tips than newer batch yet still retains the impressive backbone. I take pride in owning my Chubby 2 Silvertip from 2013 in jade. It has a much more bulb shaped knot, but is as far away from feeling pointy as you can imagine. I unfortunately sold my2 2-band Silvertip CH2 which was named Super on the handle (old stock 2012). Cheers, Claus
Great video! I have a CH2 in Best (face lather only) which I love and I'm thinking of another Chubby. Thing is, should I go for the CH2 or CH3? As for the type of hair, I'm between 2-band Silver Tip and Manchurian. I understand Manchurian has more backbone but perhaps if combined with the CH3 this will be a good thing because it won't splay so much? In general I don't like excessive backbone (I consider the CH2 Best on the soft side) but given I face lather exclusively perhaps the CH3 is too much? On the other hand with a bit more backbone (Manchurian) it would be a good combination? What do you think?
You Eric. Where did you get that silvertip from?Simpsones website doesn't have those and it looks like google can't find one for me ether. The Stirling brush is cool but what happens is that when wet the tips get all mushed up together I guess that's what they call gel like tips and also after a few uses the tips started hooking and I am not really liking both those things. Silver tips I have in other brushes are super soft and they don't act like that so that's what I am after. Thank you.
i made this video the day i got the brush. check the two most recent posts on simpson's facebook page. they have some duke 3's available now with SiLVERTiP hair knots. facebook.com/simpsonshavingbrushes/?fref=ts
I have one of the TSN limited edition brushes by simpsons in manchurian and it is a top notch brush makes me want to buy more simpson brushes in the future
+dantatro49 you know, that's actually what the thinking was behind that brush: a good brush with manchurian hair to get you "hooked" then you have to spend big, big bucks. it's the "right" thing to do from a business standpoint, but as a consumer it hurts. with that said, i don't feel the manchurians i have were rip offs. they're incredible brushes and none of the ones i've bought new have ever shed a single hair. the things will last a long, long time.
I can see cost being a problem but with all the buy sell trade deals out there some brushes can be had for a decent price. I would really like to try one of those simpson silver tips in the future
Man the more I read the more videos and reviews I watch the more confusing it gets for me. Best, silver tip, pure, 2 band, 3 band and so on. Looks like you have plenty of those brushes and looks like you've tried them on all around. Now if you are kind enough to lead me to 2 or 3 of those Simpsons brushes I would gladly appreciate it. I have bunch of Savile Row brushes and they are nice I really like them but I am thinking of moving on to new ones and reading everywhere that Simpson is the best there is. So with all that said I like to tell you what I like. Face lathering only and I tend to have sensitive neck so I need something on the softer side but I also like it to have a back bone it sits better against my face and I like to work the lather in well also I mostly use those soft soaps like between soap and cream type not super hard and not like a cream cream. I also tend to like bigger knots as it feels like a massage :-). Money is no problem. Thank you in advance.
i *genuinely* think you should check this out: www.stirlingsoap.com/finest-badger-shave-brush-24mm-x-54mm/ a lot of people who's opinions i value say that is an incredible brush. i think it would be a good idea for you to get one of those to start :D

You remind me a lot of my old friend Sergio. A much more articulate version, but he was super into music too

So have you used it much by now? How does it feel now? How does it compare to the Chubby Super 3 three band?
