I got a couple of latch hook projects from Ali Express. One winner, one not-so-winner. Tree Trunk Rug - www.aliexpress... Cacti Rug - www.aliexpress...
My daughter got me that cactus one from Amazon for Mother's Day so I'll be starting it soon. Probably. As far as keeping the colors together, I take them out of the little plastic sleeves and put them in one of those compartmentalized bead containers. I've taken out all of the dividers to make it just 12 sections that fit the yarn almost perfectly and then I use removable labels to put down one number or letter it corresponds to on the chart.
Thanks. New way of latch hooking. There never used to be a backing on them. I put the thread into small baggies with the number as I am really good at loosing thread. Not big on diamond painting. My fave is x stitching. I knit etc and scrapbook as wells live the mini books you make.
Yes I remember those old rugs with no backing. This is much nicer! Good idea on the baggies. I forgot I have a ton of little ziplock baggies from diamond painting.
Interesting, it's been years since I've done a latchhook project, probably 40+ years ago. I've often thought about doing one again but I already have too many irons in the fire as it is. TFS
i just leave the yarn loose in the sleeve because ill be using them soon enough so the mess isnt going to be there very long. i also grab a new sleeve of that color and put it right next to the one thats depleted so im ready to grab more

Great idea for organizing the colours!
Love the cactus one as well. Might have to get it. I keep the “to be used” bits of wool in small ziplock bags.
I think ziplock bags are the answer. :)

Haha Yes I know what you mean! I have so many projects, started or not, that need my attention!
