Having just gone through having to replace a blown engine and not having the option of getting it to you guys until later this year, this video gives me all the feels of getting my engine replaced by finding a great shop here in NC. Also yes Esther 100% needs to come to the dragon and will have a blast if she’s never been! Looking forward to seeing everyone and the motocompactos too
Hey John.👋🏼 Well, let me be the first to say "Esther has to be there".😉 I have met her and she is just as lovely in person and I'm sure everyone would love to meet her. See you on the next one, John.
Money shift would be horrible news . Ap1 engine go for 14k up here in Canada. Add the labour and parts and that inflates to 18k. I would have to consider a K series or just sell the shell. Happy the owner got his car back. I hope it wasnt too expensive.
I can’t wait to feel that cool mountain air! Counting the days until I can make that 10 hour drive I’m gonna be so wired the week before 😂 my 94 hatch is ready to chase some del sols 😁
oh my goodness.....i can't imagine the pain of sitting in the passenger seat while someone moneyshifts your car and lets it decel into oblivion LMAOOO. Truly a skill issue though money shifts happen all the time but assuming your not dumping the clutch you'll feel it try to spin out of the car waaaaay before anything like this happens. RPM skyrocketing up instead of going down is extremely and immediately noticeable lol. crazy shit
Funny story. I was camping at the race track and all of us have money shifting stories but all of us have done what you said. “You start to feel it and you go…oh fuck”
Loving your videos and a long time subscriber. Have you ever thought about making dedicated videos for the parts and tools you sell and making a playlist? It seems like 50% of your videos are about the things you sell in the store and for us long time subscibers, its like deja vu every video. It seems like I have heard about your shifter rebuild kit, oil filter tool, mita wheeks, etc like 100 times.
My Miata soft top has a hole below the glass window and I used a puffer jacket repair patch to seal the hole! It was like $8 for a kit on amazon but it hasn't leaked since.
Hey guys, quick question. What do you guys think about running breather filters on the valve cover like they do with a lot of the k series engines? Is this a good or bad idea. I've seen debates online with no clear answer.
I actually did this the other day. :S I think I did a 4th or 5th to 2nd. I wasn't doing more than 50. I heard the rear tires lock up and there was a smell that I assumed was the tires getting smoked. I got the clutch in and it seems fine. Nothing catastrophic like this but I'm still worried about it. Are there any signs of a bad mechanical over rev? Should I have it looked at?
if your valves and pistons didn't immediately come shooting out of the hood your probably fine ha. but seriously that seems to be the general consensus. buy a code reader for peace of mind to check for misfires but you'd usually get a check engine light for that anyway. did the burn smell like tires? it could have been your clutch slipping for a moment before it got into gear which would have been very ideal. also if tires actually did lock up that would be better than maintaining traction. seems like youre all good
I have to be honest and I will preface this by saying that I learn to drive a stick shift when I was 13. But what is with all these people making these money shifts? Do you not understand how the gate works or??? Or I just don't even know. And had a short throw shift kit in in every single car that I have ever owned. That even includes the 1988 Jeep Cherokee. How are you guys doing this? Just what the poop?
Eric does tear downs of engine carnage each week on that channel, including a S2000 once. For a second I thought it was going to be a similar video. I enjoy both channels and yours is relentless practical information I that keeps me loving my car!
with what s2k motors are goin for these days i'd probably spend the few extra bucks and do a jswap and have something interesting when i'm done. but s2k owners are some of the biggest squares around and i know engine swapping is frowned upon lol.

+1 for an Esther appearance.
For any soft top that needs a temporary or permanent patch, Tear-Aid is hard to beat.

I made a similar comment, for that money you could build a pretty nice J series, install it, and have money left over.

I'm confused. Is this an "I Do Cars" video? 💲This is the "money" part of a money shift.💰
