Thanks for the video. FYI K&N are terrible filters. Might be OK if you ride street only, but I would never have one offroad. They just don't filter well. You can get a Unifilter to replace the intake snorkel if you want something that can be washed and re-used. Best of all, you can do it without taking the tank off! Many people report that they never have to replace the stock paper filter again. Improved filtration AND reusable!
Syncing throttle bodies at idle will make the bike run smoother at idle, the goal is to have a smooth engine at your usual cruising rpm, for example i cruise 4k-6k rpm therefore my best sync rpm would be at about 5k
sorry sir but if that throttle bodies are in sync at idle they will also be in sync at highway rpm. That is just the the way they work... thanks for watching and keep safe out there... :)
Amazing work ! (again) - I just bought a Triumph Tiger 800 2018 and hopefully i will drive it soon because it seem that we have an early spring, here in Abitibi (northern Quebec in Canada). I saw many of your video and you are a reference. Congrat for you work !
Hello there sir, good to hear from you... Yes the engine needs to be up to normal temperature before making any adjustments to the throttle bodies.... thanks for watching and good luck with all your projects... :)
Thanx for s nice vid......! Just one question, where do you get the correct value's to start off with. Like how do you know wich one of the 3 is the correct one to tune the others to?
Hello sir, yes the manual says the vacuum should be between 480 and 580 hpa at 1300 rpm. If you sync them making the least amount of change possible... ie tune the highest cylinder down and the lowest cylinder up you should be fine I would think... thanks for watching sir and keep safe out there... :)
@@curtismoore7007 Hey Curtis, I use the Hayes online manuals for all my bikes. I have found them to be pretty thorough and complete... Other than Hayes you may have to go to Triumph for one... Hope this helps... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)
@@ozarksbackroads5484 Thanks for the info. Triumph doesn’t offer a paper book for the newer models. Very hard to find an online version even. I will look into the Hayes online. Thanks for all the info, I want to get the components to do my 800. A couple of questions; should you warm the engine up to operating temp before you do the vacuum balance? And should you clean the throttle body with carb cleaner with a emphasis on the balance ports? Thanks again! PS My son and I will be in Eureka Springs Nov 6-8, going up to Roaring River State park(outside of) to do some fishing, maybe we can meet up for a ride.
hey Chris, good to hear from you. Yes the engine should be at normal operating temperature when the throttle bodies are balanced. I do not believe the throttle bodies need to be cleaned unless the bike has really a lot of miles on it. Hope you enjoy your trip to Eureka and Cassville in November. That is a really nice area. I will be out in Texas the last week of October and the first week of November so I won't be able to catch up with you guys but thanks for the invite. Hello sir, as far as I know the ECU Tune is only available for android. The OBDLink app does not support motorcycles so you are out of luck there also. Your best bet is to find an old android phone or tablet or borrow one from someone and go with the ECU Tune app. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hi and thanks for a very good video! One question, before making all this work. Cant i simply connect the OBD before and verify that the throttlebodies needs adjustment?

hello sir, the scan app does allow you to reset the service light on the Tiger 800. I have seen videos where some people cannot get their service lights to reset however. I have reset the light on my Tiger a couple of times and have had no problem doing so. I cannot say for sure if the app allows this with the 900 or 1200 however. Hello there sir, good to hear from you. The computer on your bike raises the idle up when you begin to let out on the clutch to help keep the rider from stalling the bike on take off. This is a feature of the 800's 900's and the 1200 Tigers. I am not aware of any way to defeat this feature. You could ask your dealer service department if there is a way to do this but I am guessing no... Thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)
