@Red Kane did you actually read the comments carefully before replying? The highest comment here is mentioning that such a day did not exist, which leads to my comment. So what is your point exactly? Are you agreeing that there is such a day or disagreeing or agreeing and disagreeing on the same time? You made me felt very confused with your stand.
Man, you're lucky to have photos of your grandparents and their parents. My parents won't even tell me anything of their past (had to do research myself).
You're not the only one. I have one living grandparent. The others died either in my teens or early 20s, when I cared about....other things. And he says he doesn't know anything about his grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. And he isn't senile or anything like that.
That would need to be over a very long span of time for it to work. It’s a “single day” not a period of sleep. Although a problem with that phrasing is that most people’s sleeping tends to happen over two days, with most of it in the second.
Nobody probably cares but I have realized, well me and my brother realized that our grandfather looks a lot like us, and my father’s grandfather and my father have many similar features
I would give my right arm to see a time lapse of that entire stack! Much like those time lapses of people taking a picture of themselves everyday for several years except of the entire evolutionary history!
@Cora C Yeah, there is no first because micro organisms can multiply. So that mean something coming from space or one chemical reaction created some kind of organic matter that made 1 micro-organism or a bit more.

@@tenchi1357 that is.. not proof in any possible way. You just said "my proof is that the world exists" and okay, cool. But you proved that the world is real, not that god made it. Also, there's scientific evidence that the world was NOT created by any god.
Benjamin Steffen AhahahAhahahaha. Can I ask you something? How do you believe in your god when throughout history their have been different gods entirely that we have let go? I just don’t understand. You’d have to be pretty stupid to believe in your new god when you don’t believe in a sun god or a water god or a weather god.
lommm mmb Ok but how do u know that sure we call them myths now but back then plenty of people believed in them so what about now What makes the religions nowadays different(surprise they aren’t and eventually people will stop believing in them too)
Kingkevin108 this video is 1 giant troll. Life didn't spawn from nothing and become all these different animals. A group of creatures were created, innerbreeded new species until they couldn't innerbreed to form new offsprings.
well, if you know a little about light you would know that when one single ray pass thru a cristal prism it disperses in seven colours, where does it disperse an one colour becomes another? in the precise moment when comes out the prism, the same with genetic modifications, if human races would passed separated some milleniums more, the same modifications that changed size, colour of skin, eyes, hair, or eyes shape in asian people may changed enought the genoma to don't allow procreaton between races, giving diferent species, an then the colours of the rainbow will be too diferents one from another. to be smart, must observe details.
Bro, so like what if you when back in time to 375 million years ago and you got hungry so you went fishing and you caught a fish and ate it but that was actually your tikaalik grandfather
No, at that time we were a reptile-like fish, and we didnt feed on the same species of our own, we hunt another fish species that was totally different from our own. And yes, we and the fish we hunted at 375 million years ago came from a same ancestor about 550 million years ago
Isaac Vũ no the op is saying that what if your today form you time travelled back and tou got hungry so you caught a fish and you ate it but that fish was actually your ancestor
Not really, i mean without evidence this is a claim, which it is and the theory of fish people is an interesting one, macro evolution is unprovable but very much attention grabbing.
@@elijah_godslayer9904 i mean proving particles hit each other is impossible too, you can only look at a time frame and the results. Its kinda like calculating derivatives
@@elijah_godslayer9904 Like any proper scientific theory, such as the theory of gravity, the theory general relativity, electromagnetic theory etc, it certainly is not provable, but it is falsifiable.
Jake Sandstorm Exactly, says this theory. There was no first chicken, so there are no chicken today. But, because there are chicken, the theory is wrong. It is just an intricate way trying to prove the Bible is wrong (no fist man, no Adam. No Adam, no sin. No sin, no need for salvation). True scientists don't lie.
Religious views aside, many things in the bible have been scientifically disproven. There was no "first" human or chicken because the changes in the genome of the species that humans or chickens evolved from were so gradual over hundreds of thousands of years that it's impossible to identify those miniscule changes between a single generation that would denote a new species. It's like the Ship of Theseus. If you replace a ship one piece at a time, it's impossible to determine at what point it's a new ship. So if you replaced every piece of a ship with different types of wood and metal one piece at a time over a long span of time, there's no single instance where you can say definitively that it's a different ship. But after every piece has been replaced, it will look entirely different from the original ship and will have no piece from the original ship. If you looked at a photo of the original and a photo of the "new" ship side by side, you would likely say that they are two completely different ships- and they are, but it's impossible to pinpoint the exact moment that one became the other.
Jake Sandstorm The Bible is not a scientific book, so there is no need to scientifically prove or disprove it. Unfortunately the "science" of evolution is saturated with the dogmas of atheism - like it or not - though it should not be necessarily this way, and - believe it or not - atheism is a religion. The whole concept shown above is based on the erroneous presumption of continuous and linear change of species, although this has not been observed nor proven. The phenomenon called fluctuating variation e.g. in case of Darwin's Finches give an interesting insight into how evolution works. For more on fluctuating variation, see: www.truthinscience.org.uk/content.cfm?id=3160.
the "science" of evolution is saturated with libraries full of research and fossil records. but no, you're right, we were all magically zapped into existence by a sky wizard. makes much more sense. Atheism is, by definition, not a religion. And for the record, I'm not atheist. Did you even read that article? because it still supports the theory of evolution. I don't even know what you're trying to argue anymore. You're all over the place.
Someone saying "I refuse to believe we came from a chimpanzee" is just as annoying and ignorant as someone saying "I refuse to believe that I came from my cousin". It makes no sense. At all. At least educate yourself before making some ridiculous comment and sounding like a bigot. And if you still refuse to put some research into what you say, don't expect your comment to have any credibility in it. Also, I love how people who do not support evolution still continue watching videos like this. If you hate it so much, why click on it?
They click on this video because deep down they have some doubt in their own beliefs. Why else would a good, testament-abiding, Christian come here? To insult people? Nahh, their Bible tells them specifically not to do that :-) I think it's just the first step for them to open their mind though.
I actually haven't considered that. They could be in denial, so by finalising their opinion in comment form could make them feel like they're not losing faith, but deep down they are. Or maybe some do it because they're just trolls.
It could be that the Bible has been disproved once again and they just feel the need so assert their anger on those who accept Evolution over Adam an Eve. Or yes, it's possible they are trolls :)
I totally agree with you Stephanie I was in a student Christian refuge group and they were saying that evolution isn't real. And I asked why and the leader said "because my uncle isn't an ape"
andy bechdoldt Well, if that's what they want to believe then... I suppose it's no use trying to show them either. Christians can be very fanatical about their beliefs which is understandable.
Jessica DeNittis I mean you clicked on a scientific video that leaves religion out of it and fiction what did you expect your fairy tale religion in here
Actually saying god did is better because it gives you meaning and hope. And plus when christians say god did it it doesn't mean it should end there because god did it. You can still explore how god did it.
Just thinking about the conditions required to make Earth habitable makes me wonder that. If the planet that collided with us to create the moon didn't hit us with exactly the right velocity at exactly the right angle, we wouldn't exist. The amount of steps to go from a ball of lava to a planet with 2/3rds of its surface being water, (a requirement for the ozone layer), is nothing short of amazing. So many things had to line up nearly perfectly for us to exist. I hope we get smarter about how we treat this planet. It's nothing short of a miracle.
I am thankful to be from a culture (Hindu) which in its ancient text have mentions of human's ancestor being a fish. Our vast knowledge from our ancestors got forgotten or became myth, but when you look at those with an open mind you find many things that later came true, from other people in the Scientific age, from other people across the World..
LordVader1094 If you bothered to read basic scientific entries, perhaps you might learn something. Why should people over the internet act as your teacher? Go search how Viruses adapt and evolve for example. The theory has been tested to death. It's not even a debate, it's like someone asking for evidence about how Earth rotates around the sun. No one who understands the science is going to bother explain it to someone who can't be bothered to learn it!
There's this wonderful building that houses a vast array of knowledge from all parts of science, life, ect. It's called a library. They have a whole section just for books on evolution.
John Maton Is there evidence that a virus "becomes" something else? No, not in the way you describe it. But the evidence of speciation and evolution abounds in a variety of fields from geology to archeology to cell biology to genetics. Like the video explains evolution is a gradual, ongoing process. there is no way to point at one specific split, you notice it over many generations.
+John Maton Maybe you don't understand scientific method. These things get peer reviewed and ran over by scientists around the world. The assumption itself is without merit.
John Maton That word appears not once in the article. You also show you didn't check the references and read the ACTUAL study. Pdf files. Anything other than the vauge summary.
Just do a search of the biggest scientific discoveries last year and you'll think otherwise. The earth with always have its retards, it's just a fact. But natural selection will take its course. The smarter people will stay.
@@Sednas unfortunately not quite, smarter humans are more likely to plan better on reproduction and raising offspring, and is often limited to raising very few offspring and making sure they get the best education and attention from parents, however those that are less educated or smarter is more likely to end up with significantly more children that they might not bother to ensure they are well educated. So unfortunately smart people are expected to have less and less percentage share in the overall human population in the long run.
All the creationists out there, PLEASE pick up a biology textbook. You DO NOT yet understand a fairly simple topic like evolution. Tbh, I dont understand quantum physics and honestly some of the things physicists say today arouses my suspicion; does that mean I go out and have a debate with them? I simply can't, because I do not have the knowledge to have a rational debate with them.
Exactly, that sounds pretty much like a student in class doubting the teacher but claims that he/she didn't really know much about the topic, but he/she just thinks perhaps the teacher is wrong......
I truly feel sorry for literally half the kids in America who are brought up with this ridiculous creationism myth, no other democracy suffers with this level of absolute ignorance.
The magical evolutionism myth has way too many holes in it. The fossil record itself contradicts this video. There is no evolutionary tree but rather a record of what God created & cataclysmic extinctions over time.
Eric Lebs You may call evolution a myth thats your choice, but 99% of the the worlds biologists would disagree with you, as would the majority of educated people. By making ridiculous statements like the above you're just showing how un-educated and dogmatic you are, I mean what makes you better informed then the most skilled men and women in their fields?
I'm still confused. The first human would be the first of a Homosapien species. You say you can't go back to my family tree and point out exactly where one stops being human and the next one starts, but think about it. If we could pull up the DNA of all my grandparents, I would be able to breed fertile offspring with some of them, making them the same species. Eventually, there would reach a point where my DNA is no longer compatible with a grandparent, in the same way, making them a different species, right? So there would be a first human, at least in my family tree.
For the Thiests who do not know, A scientific theory is an explanation or model based on observation, experimentation, and reasoning, especially one that has been tested and confirmed as a general principle helping to explain and predict natural phenomena.
I am a Thiest, and I do know... But I hope you let me comment. This presentation is based on a THEORY that came from Charles Darwin. It claims to be based on Fossil records, but that is still lacking evidence since the "Missing Link" is still undiscovered. Science deserves its credit, science teaches us much. All true scientific discoveries come through Inspiration from God. Scientists are sometimes inspired. Long before god sent Charles Darwin to an earthly family, he had told his prophets about the creation of the world. One of his prophets was The First Man. Adam. I'm happy knowing that I don't have primate, or fish ancestry.
Matthew Owens Every time you find a new fossil of a previously unknown species, that doesn't fill in a gap--it creates two new gaps. Thus, using the phrase "missing link" is a theist's lack of understanding of evolution. You all-capped "theory," leading me to believe that you still do not understand the difference between a common theory and a scientific theory. A scientific theory has no evidence against it--none. Theists claim that evolution cannot be, yet they give no evidence against it. They provide no scientific publications that contradict it. Why? Because there are no scientific publications against it. Without evolution, biology does not make sense.
Tyler Meister I'm not going to do the research for you, but I'm just going to let you know right now that there are many things that contradict the theory of human evolution. If you care enough then you'll find out :)
This was amazing! I loved the way the video flowed. Really gave me a new meaning to a species and showed evolution is just a continuum and we only see a small slice at every point.
Lmao everyone needs to calm down with this religion stuff you will believe what you want to believe. Can people freely have opinions without getting criticized nowadays?
After seeing the insane comments in the national geographic video on human evolution I'm glad to see the comments here are positive and not dismissive of evolution and science.
yes.. microevolution is observable, testable, repeatable lowercase s science . . . macroevolution however keeps getting tested and is repeatedly unobserved capital S Science 💙 seek truth instead of emotionally preferred soothers
I find it crazy how people can believe in a book written by people 2000 years ago. People were so dumb then, they thought the world was flat! Are those the type of people whose book you want to follow? Crazy man, crazy.
Certain people are also fucking crazy stupid today. You're cherry picking the population, just understand that. To a molecular biochemist, a high schooler studying chemistry is near mentally challenged.
Actually along time ago people from well educated civilizations knew the world was round, but yes, your kinda of right because people believed in blood letting and that was pretty stupid
+AydenHubbell Productions (GamingPro752) This is not about evolution, but some people still believe in blood letting today. Crazy stupid people at all times ☺
Its funny that philosophers in western europe had already began to accept that the world was a sphere while desert-centric goat herders spawned religions whose tomes dictated the opposite
Yeah, evolution is a slow process that takes numerous generations to have noticed changes, so therefore you wouldn't see one species give birth to another. Now, if only we could get creationists to understand this.
Actually, there's nothing inherent to evolution saying it has to be slow. It's only when applied to life, and more specifically, the lives of beings that take a long time to reproduce and/or die that it looks slow. Short-lived, fast-reproducing organisms such as bacteria or even insects, change faster through evolution because of that. In fact, mosquitoes evolve fast enough that we can see the difference every month -- they become resistant to "old" pesticides.
Julio Felipe Angelini The video was a reference to humans. I was talking human evolution. Yes, lab studies have shown fruit flies that have evolved new traits in a fast rate that can be witness. As I said though; I was commenting on human evolution.
At some point, in that stack of photos, there was a homosapien-sapien. At some point, you get to the first photo that makes the cut. Just like when we become a new species, there will be a first, singular, or plural. I mean, if a family has several babies, like twins, it could be more than one first. Maybe you can't pinpoint the exact the first point, but there would come a point if we could look through the photos of time without losing a single second, that we'd get to the first homosapien, as we could with any other species. With age, we still have stages we can mark when which begins. From toddler-puberty. We have stages so we can see where a person is at in their childhood. We also have ages where we can track a person throughout their lifespan. We have beginnings, middles, and ends for so many things. And yet, we don't for a species? Well, that's not completely true as we can dictate when a species is extinct. At some point, we become another species. If we didn't, well, I wouldn't be here commenting, and there wouldn't be a YT designed by Humans. There's always a beginning of some kind, even if that beginning is simple or complicated. You can't have a stack of photos all about how people evolved without having a first pic of said species. To do so would be highly illogical.
Michelle basically we only have educated guesses about prehistory. I mean come on we have much more solid evidence about kennedy yet still we argue there. Still i do beieve all life mutates and changes over time.
James Eriksen Yes, but I do feel that segments like these can take people beyond popular science and into a state where the thirst for more knowledge can be stoked. Although you are correct, is must be "...sought after."
Peter Barrett I think that's it's important to clearly explain how species evolve and the rate at which they do it. It levels the playing field between those in science who are trying to present sound research, and those just trying to get their names known in popular science arenas.
colhero1 Humans, dogs, cats, and frogs, horses, and dolphins, all evolved from a single specific branch of the fish, lobe-finned fishes or Sarcopterygii. It happened almost 400 million years ago, so it's not surprising that you don't really remember. :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetrapod
Ausrichter if he showed himself, yea... but he never did, there are no gods, it's just a character made up by humans, that's why this debate will never reach a conclusion, it's simple to believe in anything you want, even if it doesn't exist, you just have to pretend
Brilliant, I love your videos. They are so well produced; and presented with humor and great articulation I could imagine you being an outstanding talk show host:)
Abigail April I watched that debate and Ham just made a fool of himself. I'm guessing by your statement that you don't actually know what the scientific method is nor how it applies.
Abigail April Even if Nye "lost" the debate it would not matter. Bill Nye does not speak for the entire scientific community. Just like Hamm does not speak for every Christian. Basically Hamm's thesis was the scientific method does not work, but the fact that I am using a computer right now kinda disproves that.
Abigail April Even according to many Christians Nye mopped the floor with Ham. When Pat Robertson tells you to stop being an imbecile, you know you are way out of the mainstream.
Tax V. You clearly don't understand the big bang theory or abiogenesis. Nowhere in the big bang theory does it say the universe came from nothing. It's an explanation, based on observation, that all of the matter and energy in the known universe was, at the dawn of spacetime, a singularity. Sorry, but this isn't nothing, it's literally everything, including spacetime. You're asking to observe all of the matter, energy, and spacetime to be compressed into a singularity and then expand. Which is inherently impossible, since you, the observer, would be part of the universe and would have to be in the singularity; it's a paradox. Abiogenesis, on the other hand, starts with materials that already exist and uses natural processes to thus far create protolife.

that was completely irreverent and that actual definition of theory is a group of ideas meant to explain a certain topic of science, such as a single or collection of fact event or phenomenon
To any doubters out there, we can actually trace our ancestors back nowadays using DNA on our mothers side that shows our initial journey from Africa.. But I suppose doubters would doubt that. Good video, nicely explained.
Faisal Alif Darwin's evidence for evolution constitutes only a minuscule fraction of the evidence for evolution. We do not have to rely on Darwin to prove the theory; the modern evidence is overwhelming, so please stop promoting this myth.
Yup. Every creature living on our great planet comes from one common ancestor. Along the line, members of that ancestor had to adapt to an ever changing environment. Those adaptions gave rise to new variants of that species which would eventually become it's own species based on it's environment.
Well, not the scientific term "family", in this context. But all life on earth is related through evolution. And perhaps we're even related to viruses (this is still being debated), even though they are not life forms.
Naif Mohammad Sharif No evidence human was from monkey, if it was, then where's the monkey come from? of course fish, and where's the fish made of? clay
I think the video has many dislikes because it looks like a cop-out to most creationists, and confounds them as well. The problem is, he simplifies it to an analogy between speciation and the growth of a baby to an adult, which, to most who understand evolution, is totally valid, but will confuse those on the fence. Obviously, there is no single specific day in which you could call yourself an adult in that context. Rather, there would be an ideal range, in which you could say, this looks confidently, and primarily "adult", just as it would be with the evolution of our species. However, due to the randomness and luck involved in fossil-finding, there will likely never be enough of these so-called "snapshots" that show the in-betweens so drastically convincing and real, as the growth of a child to an adult, so we're forced to make inferences.
***** Read a population genetics textbook. They have more math than any other field outside of biophysics. Population Genetics: A Concise Guide by Gillespie is a great introduction.
VenomIsSoCute there's this thing where everyone has a subconscious affinity for their own family. You find your relatives (generally) cuter than non-relatives. :-B
Our mitochondrial DNA is passed down only from our maternal ancestors, by looking at humans that have the same maternal ancestor (ie a first cousin), and seeing the number of mutations that have occurred over that single generation, you can establish when the generational lines of every human on earth meet. AND THERE IS A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL FROM WHICH WE ARE ALL DERIVED, a kind of evolutionary 'Eve', a human. As this is our common ancestor, you could argue that she is the first of our lineage - the first human.
Robert Dewar Mitochondrial Eve is not necessarily (and likely wasn't) the first human. She's just the one who is our most recent ancestor. There were other Homo sapiens alive at the same time as her whose lineages died off.
Robert Dewar There hasn't really been anyone like that. At least not a human one since the humans that emegrated from Africa first later interbred with neanderthals and created a new kind of humans--the Indo-Europeans, and they later interbred with some other variation of people in Asia. To say it in plain English--you would have to go back to a time before modern humans to reach this point and it is likely that it never occured. If there would have only been two people alive they most certainly would have gotten a pretty load of genetic diseases. If they managed to still survive it would still have had happened a long time ago. If they succeeded it was likely because of other people whose lineages died off.
Speciation occurs when two groups of the same species got separated and they don't share their gene pool. Groups can become separated when they occupy different "islands" that is difficult to surmount. Dawkins explained that "islands" could have been lakes or rivers or mountain tops, or plains separated by a valley rift. However, aside from physical "islands," there's also the tyranny of time. The hundreds of millions of years separating generations could also be islands. For example, let's say that the human species will not be separated for hundreds of millions of years - there are no explorers to Mars who don't mix with the original population on Earth. I suspect that given time, enough genetic drifting would occur that our current human species would not be able to mate with the human species of 100 million generations later. The immensity of time is so grand that it's difficult to wrap it around our heads.
Thanks for your comments on speciation! The "islands" mechanism is one possible means of speciation (the technical term is "allopatric", if anyone's interested). But even with geographic isolation, the children would still be the same species as the parents, on and on, within those separated populations. It's not until we go several generations down the line and combine independent lineages that we'd see the speciation had occurred. Speciation should really be its own video. I'll get on that :)
Funny how the subject of evolution attracts religious people.. the video mentions nothing about religion, please go discuss your precious religions somewhere else.. Back to the subject.. i believe that the evolution of humans took place on a different planet, and then we were brought here somehow. Only the strongest survive in nature, so the first humans on earth might have been very evolved. Crashed and didnt have much tech to live off.. so the strong (and less intelligent) survived, and kept breeding, until all knowledge was lost. Just think about us today, if you were put on an island somewhere in the middle of nowhere, no gadgets, no nothing.. would you be able to tell your children how to make a computer? not likely, if you could, your survivability would probably be very low, and your knowledge would be lost. Probably those first humans fought against the native primates and homosabians (the ones before humans). and or mated with them, making a naturally evolved race, that can live on this planet. That or a society of aliens in the galaxy took some human races from all over the universe and mixed them all together on earth as a funny action tv show for the rest of the galaxy.. why not, can you prove me wrong?
Wow. That comment was like "It's funny how talking about evolution brings out the crazies, now let me tell you about the alien ghosts imprisoned here by Lord Xemu!"
Damn crazy fuckwit. How is a race that comes from 65 light-years away (without a gas station) going to interbreed with another, TOTALLY ISOLATED race of TOTALLY differing ancestry?? I can almost buy humanoid Aliens (bwo convergent evolution) but there would be no successful interbreeding between Humans and Aliens Lost technology... possible, but completely earthbound in nature. Ancient cities discovering things like electricity and then being wiped out by natural disasters. Electricity wouldn't be harnessed again for centuries!
This kind of reminds me of a thought experiment I've been mulling over for years. If you start with a teaspoon of sand, you would say there is a countable number of grains of sand. But if you look at a coastline, you'd say the number of grains of sand was uncountably infinite. You can bring the extreme's closer together--a shovel full (still countable) and a mile of beach (still infinitely uncountable)--but there wouldn't be a single point where you can say, "NOW! It just went from a countable number of grains of sand to an infinitely uncountable number of grains of sand!" If it did, you could picture a pile of sand that has a countable number of grains, and then add a single grain to it, pushing it over the edge into an infinitely uncountable number of grains of sand. But in that case, you could still count the grains of sand. But undoubtedly, there comes a point where the pile of sand becomes, for all intents and purposes, infinitely uncountable. This is like what you're saying about our ancestors. Somewhere between the fish and us, the human species came into being. But you can't pinpoint that one generation "when it happened." You can't say, "This animal was not human, but it's children are." Even though you can say that I'm a human, and my 185,000,000 great grandfather was not.
Thats right we come from adam and eve but the problem is that we evolved a little. ( they lived very long example they would cry if their child died when it was 300 years old get it ? Thats how long they lived so they borned massive of children then we populated as hell.
It’s a fundamental issue of language. Because everything we live with has some sort of spectrum. We resolved this by breaking it down using categories which in turn makes labels. Which works by directing us to a part of a spectrum, but gives us the wrong thinking by causing us to, in certainty, identify that ‘thing’ as ‘it’. Its causes a lot of issues especially socially. Instead of defining and categorising someone by a definite term, we just need to see them for who they are to know how they fit. Categories are just a guide, but what you’re looking at, is it’s own thing.
If a species is defined as a group of all animals that can mate with each other, could you say that some of our ancestors belonged to two species at the same time? Because they could theoretically reproduce with modern humans (if they weren't dead), but also with the species of their parents🤔
Theoretically speaking, every child is a slightly different species than parent A. So even though this child can mate with his parent as well as his own descendants, there will come a time when his great great....... Grandson Bwon't be able to mate with the parent A. So A and B will be called different species, and then there will be C , D..... P P and A will be greatly different in all forms. So species B, C.....O become transitional species. Eg A is theropods, and P is modern birds. So Archaeopteryx, a transition species, will be D or E (eg) But remember that when evolution occurs, only a part of the animal group evolves . So its possible that D evolves into E' as a separate branch on family tree.
There's something called a "ring species" that's just like this. Animals at the far ends of their range can't mate with each other, but ones in the middle can. And sometimes the far ends overlap each other in space. For example, on the east coast of the US wolves and coyotes can hybridize but on the west coast they never do, and the size difference between them is larger.
@@aaryajain6396 given the ways that entropy applies to the genetic code of a creature tho, why wouldn't entire kingdoms of living things be able to be spliced together in a lab with entirely different kingdoms of living things?
@@mentilly_all i dont understand how entropy is involved here. and yes they can be spliced together but the cell formed will probably die because the hodgepodge of genes isnt viable for life.

You can not graft new ideas onto a closed mind!
well one comment from some extreme atheist will not change everyone's mind even though im religious I have my thoughts and beliefs, it will not be over by one person comment on a online place with cat videos religion also explains some unsolved things about the big bang Plus if one closed his mind about a thing that doesn't matter, it can find new things to do and learn other than debating on a place with cat videos (which i am here for)
+jinitron Apheists can't justify how the world started The big bang for instance is very stupid like where did the atoms come from? Wait how was there a space? Referring back to God our creator makes much more sense than the big bang
+Erick Rodriguez Yes, it was the Belgian priest Georges Édouard Lemaître who introduced the concept of the Big Bang theory that the universe was once concentrated into a single point.
I like how all the creationists are blocking the reply button. Just shows they are not interested in a debate. Someone said Adam and Eve comports with reality. Based on what? You challenge science over lack evidence yet you have none of your own.
There is quite a lot of arguments againt evolution. For instance the author in this video claims that we all came from fish, but what happened before that? cells OK, where did that came from? A single cell is more complex and organized than anything humans created. There are two explanaitions, the cell came from nothing?! or it was created by a higher power we call God. I believe that life can only come from other live and since we have a living God than all pieces fit together.
Vlach Hmm from what I could understand from what you said... You think that cells can't be created without something else... Aka God... Ok, where did god come from?

does this also mean there was no first chicken?

Is there evidence that a virus "becomes" something else? No, not in the way you describe it. But the evidence of speciation and evolution abounds in a variety of fields from geology to archeology to cell biology to genetics. Like the video explains evolution is a gradual, ongoing process. there is no way to point at one specific split, you notice it over many generations.
+John Maton Maybe you don't understand scientific method. These things get peer reviewed and ran over by scientists around the world. The assumption itself is without merit.

By making ridiculous statements like the above you're just showing how un-educated and dogmatic you are, I mean what makes you better informed then the most skilled men and women in their fields?

Eric Lebs How does the fossil record contradict this? Please give examples.
Eric Lebs You sure are lost in the fog. You need an uninstall!
This video has the most straightforward explanation of evolution that I’ve ever seen
There is a better one on crash course
I'm still confused. The first human would be the first of a Homosapien species. You say you can't go back to my family tree and point out exactly where one stops being human and the next one starts, but think about it. If we could pull up the DNA of all my grandparents, I would be able to breed fertile offspring with some of them, making them the same species. Eventually, there would reach a point where my DNA is no longer compatible with a grandparent, in the same way, making them a different species, right? So there would be a first human, at least in my family tree.
@GengerHumans We are created by aliens?
If you care enough then you'll find out :)

but...but...Crocoduck! XD
They don't want to.
robzrob I know, I was being facetious. LOL
There Was No First Human

Peter Barrett I think that's it's important to clearly explain how species evolve and the rate at which they do it. It levels the playing field between those in science who are trying to present sound research, and those just trying to get their names known in popular science arenas.

To any doubters out there, we can actually trace our ancestors back nowadays using DNA on our mothers side that shows our initial journey from Africa.. But I suppose doubters would doubt that. Good video, nicely explained.

Darwin's evidence for evolution constitutes only a minuscule fraction of the evidence for evolution. We do not have to rely on Darwin to prove the theory; the modern evidence is overwhelming, so please stop promoting this myth.

So basically EVERY species is from the same family?!?! That's Sooooo cool

***** That was vague and proved nothing.

@Bismah Shafiq you called your Great Grandfather "it"!
There were other Homo sapiens alive at the same time as her whose lineages died off.
that makes sense, thanks
Denis Belyasov And your comment is relevant, why?
So what were her parents?
Robert Dewar There hasn't really been anyone like that. At least not a human one since the humans that emegrated from Africa first later interbred with neanderthals and created a new kind of humans--the Indo-Europeans, and they later interbred with some other variation of people in Asia. To say it in plain English--you would have to go back to a time before modern humans to reach this point and it is likely that it never occured. If there would have only been two people alive they most certainly would have gotten a pretty load of genetic diseases. If they managed to still survive it would still have had happened a long time ago. If they succeeded it was likely because of other people whose lineages died off.
so wait, does this mean everyone in the entire world are cousins?

You're forgetting Captain Kirk - he can mate with any species. 8)
Good post, thanks.

How is a race that comes from 65 light-years away (without a gas station)
going to interbreed with another, TOTALLY ISOLATED race of TOTALLY differing ancestry??

Thanks for writing this. It is a great point.

Well said.
For the record, that 'wrong thinking' is called Platonism.
But then who is to say the category and language used is correctly defined?

If a species is defined as a group of all animals that can mate with each other, could you say that some of our ancestors belonged to two species at the same time? Because they could theoretically reproduce with modern humans (if they weren't dead), but also with the species of their parents🤔
Theoretically speaking, every child is a slightly different species than parent A. So even though this child can mate with his parent as well as his own descendants, there will come a time when his great great....... Grandson Bwon't be able to mate with the parent A.
So A and B will be called different species, and then there will be C , D..... P
P and A will be greatly different in all forms.
So species B, C.....O become transitional species. Eg A is theropods, and P is modern birds. So Archaeopteryx, a transition species, will be D or E (eg)
But remember that when evolution occurs, only a part of the animal group evolves .
No
