I just discovered these horror shorts about a week ago and I was thrilled. I have not as yet, however, commented on any of them. I started binge watching every night, beginning with CryptTV. Early on I found myself becoming somewhat disappointed in many of their films, so I began looking for other channels of this genre and found Screamfest. Wow! I haven't stopped watching since. Though I really enjoy watching these films, I am not easily frightened. I have to say, however, that _In Extremis_ upped the ante and truly made the hair stand up on the back of my neck, as did _Don't Let Them In_ and I truly enjoyed having those brief moments of fear. Bravo, Screamfest!! Keep up the good work and I'll keep on watching.
This feels like it would make for a good television show, more than a full length film. With the Curator growing too old to continue to be the man on the wall sort of speak, and training a new Curator who finds the Blight and imprisons it for humanity. Not to mention all the other possible occult relics, and creatures he has faced off against and imprisoned. Good movie, and pilot (hint, hint)!!
Haha - He really should have just done the "Sit behind the desk and sound the alarm if someone comes in." thing like he was told. If he hadn't gone and poked it then it wouldn't have talked to him. I did half expect some sort of militant priest to come charging in the first time he touched the alarm though with the 'CONSECRATUS' inscriptions - lol People tell me I am linguistically pedantic but "things that cannot be destroyed" vs. "things that cannot be ALLOWED TO BE destroyed" sets of alarm bells to me.
Many of the comments claim the score is stolen from "The Shining." The music predates that movie by several centuries. It's called "Dies Irae" (Day of Wrath) and dates from the 13th Century (the composer is not known). It's been used many times in other compositions including Hector Berlioz in "Symphonie fantastique." In earlier films, Gerald Fried used it in 1958 as the title theme in "The Return of Dracula" and Leonard Rosenman used it as the main theme for "The Car" in 1977.
The way I see it, the curator, whoever he is, should've been more specific. I mean, is wasn't as though someone were trespassing on the premises, and he was under the impression that someone was in urgent need of rescue, so it was an honest mistake. Furthermore, the curator added insult to injury by blaming the guard for his misfortune.
@@kevinlane1219 He isn't adding to that guy's injury, he himself is an evil person. He was testing whether this dude would be a person who just does what he's told or do otherwise. And in his pov, this guy came off as "unworthy" or something, hence he decided to discard him, just like he did to others who've displeased him.
@@1..0w0..3 One, two, three...aaaaand you're back in the room! The curator wasn't evil. The watchman was told to mind his own business, but went snooping. He became infected, after being bitten, so the curator, to protect humanity, walled him into his own room.
You took me back to my youth, when reading Edgar Allen Poe and watching Castle horror films was my favorite past time (and one my mother did not approve of). Thank you for capturing that time and that genre in only 14 minutes. Bravo!
This is the best of these short horror movies that I've seen. Like M.R. James and H.P. Lovecraft combined. Not the typical young girl alone in her apartment texting on a cellphone with a psycho monster that jumps out at the last second.
Do you job. Paycheck and expertise. Usually the better 'Sites' pay more. He should have followed his Post Orders. One question I always ask is... "Where is and what happened to the previous employee?" Yes, Europe is different than North America.
This short reminds me so much of the classic Amicus films! I could easily imagine Peter Cushing or Christopher Lee in the role of the curator. It's so wonderful and exciting to see a throwback to that age of horror, thank you so much for making this and I would love to see more!
This was easily one of my favorites to date! Thank you for a well acted, VERY well produced, well written film that truly made me shiver! The "creature" was awesomely creepy! Great make-up work! It had all the makings of a full length big budget film without the big budget or full length! Honestly, you didn't need either!
Love how they got the atmosphere in this one, it could easily be an episode from the late 70s and early 80s TV series Hammer House of Horror... Beautifully made.
I have watched so many rubbish horror shirts recently that this was a very welcome surprise! Everything about this production is excellent - and like every good film should - it plays on your mind afterwards! Very professional wonderful work and great acting! Many thanks 💕
Awesome short ! Tbh, the fact that the cries for help behind the wall started in a grown woman's voice, only to end in a little girl's tone, would absolutely have alarmed me lol Still super creepy and atmospheric 👍
The curator clearly said: *"Things that cannot be destroyed".* Once the voice started I'd have been out of there and called the cops. Delightful little short.
Omgs this has to be the best one I’ve watched so far. And I’ve watched a lot. Wow I would love this to be a full movie. Understand the story behind all of it. Wow amazing job. From the acting, the effects! Mind blowing.
Not the most original concept and no surprises for me BUT... beautifully classic (yes, I am British) a very, VERY well executed. Got a serious Cthulhu Magician vibe off of the curator. Casting Struan Rodger was inspired. :D
There's too many of us curious, wanting to push the button under the "Do Not Push" kinda people out there. The world's doomed..it's only a matter of time before the wrong door gets opened😈. As usual, another excellent short by you guys👌😚.

I agree, I even kind of shy away from some of them but they are very very good.🤣😂🤣❤❤❤
I became addicted almost instantly. I love them!
Screamfest
I too enjoy your movies. Brings a refreshing taste to the horror genre. Keep churning out the movies. I’m a subscribed watcher. 👍
Yup crypttv is garbage. You might wanna check out the channel alter. quality of their content is just about the same with scream.
Exact same!

He just wanted to find a padawan LOL!!!
Sounds like Grimm x Van helsing
Maybe the job description should have included a few more bloody details?
yeah and the curator leaves a damn hammer right next to that wall? ha.. freaking creepy as hell watching it crawl after him though
Why? Just do what you are told, it's not that difficult.
Haha - He really should have just done the "Sit behind the desk and sound the alarm if someone comes in." thing like he was told. If he hadn't gone and poked it then it wouldn't have talked to him. Lesson learned: do as you are told !!
It helps if they shared a bit more to someone who they trust. Not some random watchmen

The curator wasn't evil.
The watchman was told to mind his own business, but went snooping.
He became infected, after being bitten, so the curator, to protect humanity, walled him into his own room.
He should have understood that it is not normal after first and second incident since there was no response in the presence of the guard, LOL
Another masterpiece.. well written, wonderfully directed n last but not the least.. superb cast n acting

Reminds me of hp lovecraft story the statement of Randolph Carter. This must be the monster we never got to see.
I think the word consecratus was in there too.

Should have been two words:
*Consecrate Us*

Yes. The cask of Amontillado.

A job in a basement, things that can't be destroyed, walled in doorways, bricks with the Latin word consecrated (?) on them, voices. Nope, I'm gone.
Yep! Had me gone at “basement”
😂
Not today Satan
consecrated can mean holy, dedicated, sacred, and many other meanings so its tough to wonder what the curator meant

What a such stupid dirty mess he did, isn't? Very nice! Should be more!! A continuous, please!
Some comments here are comparing CryptTv and Screamfest. Please don't do that. Both UA-cam channel are giving us good videos. Spread love everybody 😘
I know I love both channels, I don't feel it's right to knock one down because ur watching the other. JS
I agree. God bless♥
I like em all screamfest alter and crypt TV and shudder they all do different styles and are all AWESOME 😎👍

Love the classic themes rehashed. This was a fantastic goth horror.
"Oh my gosh, they locked Oliver Wood!"
"You bastards!!!!!"
Excellent short all the way around. Great atmospherics, great actors and terrifyingly morbid sound track. Congratulations on this effort.
Struan Rodger brings a special presence to every performance.
The music was creepy, very sleepy hollowish 😱
The main music theme was taken from the movie The Shining (Stanley Kubrick). We hear it several times in this film and also at the end of it.

This was so well done. Awesome location too!
These shorts are way better than anything in the theaters.
Wow. Absolutely brilliant. Performance. Mood. Writing. Visually. Wow.
Outstanding, Gregory!
I especially liked the "Silence of the Lambs" cell block and "The Shining" main theme! 👍
He's Oliver Wood from HARRY POTTER
❤
Yeah I thought it might be. It is him. Sean Biggerstaff.
I think he could have used any sized staff in this story. :^p
Recognized his smile...
Yeah he is
I recognized the voice first, then instantly recognized Wood xD
Love how they got the atmosphere in this one, it could easily be an episode from the late 70s and early 80s TV series Hammer House of Horror... Beautifully made.
This was very different from the usual but just as brilliant!! Screamfest doesn’t disappoint. Great cast and characters and acting!! Bravo!
Thank you so much!!! We appreciate people taking the time to watch the films and its great to know when they enjoyed the film.
Curator was creepy by himself lol. I'd confront him....over the phone, while I was in another city lol.
😂😂
I like your thinking 😂
hahahaha me too
I knew it! He's Oliver Wood from the Harry Potter movies! That voice!
The music was great. Sounded just like my heartbeat.
I am not easily frightened. This short scared the s*** out of me. So creepy! I love it!
I just found these films to. Great for when I'm having trouble concentrating on anything. Perfect length

Horror short movies are more interesting and scarier then full length.... 👍👍👍

Thanks for watching!
The atmosphere in this short is so cold.
This was a great one! Phenomenal production design, wardrobe, makeup!
One of the few best horror shorts i've watched.
Thanks for watching!
Yes! Some people just won't leave well enough alone.
OMG...what an obscure plot of this film...but excellent!
So glad you liked the film. Thanks for watching!

One of the better horror shorts on You Tube.
Extremely good!!! Scary without gore can be hard to achieve but this one did it.
Nice ending... He belongs to them
That was awesome!! Still wonder y the zombie was so scared of the older dude...but besides that it's a greAt short film!!!
Felicia Sousa-Wood cos he turned on the lights
This short was really nicely done, this could be a full length film
Hell yeah, I agree!
Let's face it: a lot of discoveries good and bad happen because someone does NOT do things the usual way.
Creepy, scary, and thrilling! I love it! Make more!
An excellent short. Great classical story, acting, scenario, music, thanks.
You guys are the best I’ve been watching for a few days now I have to say you are the best on here I’m 75 and still enjoy scary movies thanks guys.❤️
One of my personal favorites
Excellent actors!!!
Excellent. And yeah, nice, looks quite like old British horrors of 50 years ago or more. At least as I imagine the things British. Thanks.
his paper said man in space, so yeah thats of age
Reminiscent of the old 70s sketches - & especially the Hammer films, with the music & the accents.
I loveeeeee screamfest,,more than any horror you tube channel..... fantastic , mind blowing stories

Loved that one & the creature effects were brilliant :)
Aaaaahhhhhhggggggg!!!! RUN MAN RUN!!!! OOOHHHH BOY LOL! What a good one!

Was a fantastic horror.. Good acting. He cud've stopped worrying about the voices. Sad. Good direction. Nice acting. 👌👌
Well done! Quite professional from set design to actors.😎. Looking forward to seeing more of your highly entertaining work.
Damnit, if you see a walled - off Door somewhere (especially in a Basement), there is usually a good reason for it.

This is awesome! Thanks for the great storytelling!
This is my personal favorite...
Far more thrilling than a one and a half hour horror movie 📽.
A great and very well made horror short film 🏆 ! Wow ! I really enjoyed 😮
Esse filme é demais!!!!! Muito bem feito, uma história simples e direta. Parabéns!!!! Perfeito!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I wish they would have explained what exactly the curator was, seeing that the ghoul was just absolutely terrified of him.
Excellent! Part two please😤
This is like a modern day, supernatural re-telling of The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe.
I though the exact same thing!
Maureen de Badra 🤗
I was thinking the same!
With demons and rum... demon rum?
I wish they had explain more about was was in there. Awesome job :D I could have watched this in a full length movie :D
This would make a good tv show. So creepy.
This one is extremely well made. Great job!
