For anyone wondering why the decreased gravity on the flame's byproducts doesn't make the flame higher: buoyancy decreases with gravity, I think. Seeing him having difficulties standing up, the camera man just casually standing there and the guy in orange even pull him to his feet... 1:45 The crew of that plane must have a lot of fun from time to time, watching their passengers :D
It wouldn't be too hard for Derek to keep standing either. That though is because the camera guy and the others were already there standing steady [if you noticed they're no exception: their legs were super shaky too] but he specifically had to pull himself up from a knelt down position to a standing one- ain't easy.
"You might think that in order to do this the plane needs to dive towards the ground, but that's not actually how it works." **plane proceeds to dive toward the ground to make it work**
Yeah it's a subtle distinction. This only really matters because if it was flying level instead of climbing the period of 0g will be shorter, so it starts by flying up at angle.
@@michamikoajczak9070 The point is that it's not the same to move towards the ground and to have acceleration towards the ground. When the plane changes the angle downwards and the zero g starts they are still going upwards for a while
There's probably no real single answer to this, it's really up to them. However, i guess it's more common for all of them to be filming and producing something out of the collaboration that they can call their own despite setting out to do something together, and then upload their own work on their channel, such as this video.
They all did different things and don't show much of each other's content for this collaboration which is pretty cool. They also filmed separately seeing how Derek has a cameraman and the other two brought their own cameras. Cheers!
Congrats on your collaboration with Bill Nye on Bill Nye Saves The World! ✨👏🏻✨ On my first introductory flight, I asked the pilot if we could do the parabola-effect and he obliged. My sister was in the back seat and had no idea what what was about to happen. She was the camera-girl and suddenly everything in the cabin started floating, 😅including us! Haha! This was a great short documentary!
Among those pilots, highly trained to this very specific task, is Thomas Pesquet (currently in mission aboard the ISS). For he still is a commercial airliner pilot, who also qualified for "zero-G" flights so is would be more prepared for space missions/flights. When not in space, he often comes back to Novespace as a support to compensate for pilots taking off-days. Flying "zero-G" regularly is a very exhausting activity this is, believe the former flight attendant I am. Well, actually, it's hard to find something he just can't do !
It's not that high on Jupiter since the planet is soo big and the "surface" so far away from the center of mass. Then again it's a Gas Giant, difficult to walk on a Gas Giant.

"You might think that in order to do this the plane needs to dive towards the ground, but that's not actually how it works."
**plane proceeds to dive toward the ground to make it work**
Yeah it's a subtle distinction. This only really matters because if it was flying level instead of climbing the period of 0g will be shorter, so it starts by flying up at angle.
@@NomadSoul76so ur saying it has to go up to later go down. Like litterally..
@@michamikoajczak9070 The point is that it's not the same to move towards the ground and to have acceleration towards the ground. When the plane changes the angle downwards and the zero g starts they are still going upwards for a while
No he literally showed that you can experience zero G even when the plane was going upwards, but it's acceleration was towards earth
it needs to diver toward the ground with a particular arc
"It feels like someone lying on you"

Wow Awesome
Props to the camera man for having to fly to film the plane.
1:38 cameraman is too damn strong gravity doesnt affect him
my question is ,when youtubers comes together to film, do they have a fight to decide on whose channel will it be uploaded ?
Sometimes they do both, like with Andrew Huang and Whats Inside.
Bhavin Sinyal it is on the 3 channels lol
i am talking in general when youtubers do collaboration...
On my first introductory flight, I asked the pilot if we could do the parabola-effect and he obliged. My sister was in the back seat and had no idea what what was about to happen. She was the camera-girl and suddenly everything in the cabin started floating, 😅including us! Haha!
This was a great short documentary!
Well, these pilots are really talented
Its not that hard to do, you just need to know basic controls and you will do fifty barrel rolls! Given that you are in a simulator.
@Aliver87 that was the joke
@@felobatirmoheb4884 its so true. Throttle controll yaw controll and always look at the altitude and speed indicator...
I'm sure the whole thing's autopiloted.
Imagine you playing vr chat and out of nowhere you see a guy with a jesus skin floating
Lol this has amused me
That would be funny.
*3:22** imagine the pilots suddenly adjust into Jupiter gravity at this time😂😂*
Still does it😬
A ripped out arm and a splash of blood on the floor
😂😂
It's not that high on Jupiter since the planet is soo big and the "surface" so far away from the center of mass. Then again it's a Gas Giant, difficult to walk on a Gas Giant.
Since gravity decrease with distance.
Guy: Your body weight is double and it's very hard to stand and the blood moves away from your head
Cameraguy: Standing perfectly upright and smiling
They are used to it

The only question is
Who was making the video of the PLANE
It's cgi mate.
It’s obviously superman how did you not know that
pushkar chopra cgi/photoshop
You can see him at 1:27 in the background
Footage from CNES's chase plane which fly formation, many times to provide additional telemetry and external footage. It wasn't shot on the same day as veritasium's flight though.
The cameraman is always the Superman , everyone was falling down and the cameraman is standing like freaking nothing ever happened 😅
could be magnetic boots
Tripods
For anyone wondering: It costs 6000€ to do this with that airline. In the US it seems to be about 5000$.
Karl Kastor Thanks, mate!
Expensive. But then again, so is fuel and preparations.
Karl Kastor
Time to start saving. Who needs college?
in US after paying $5k you'll get kicked out
waste of money, just jump around a bit.
If you're unsure of the gravitational acceleration where you are, look at a flame.
Solid life advice I'll never need.
