I was asked today what is the most beautiful music ever written. My answer, "I don't know, but I know who wrote it." This one comes very close to the top.
Miriam Feuersinger blijft toch mijn favoriete sopraan. Wat een prachtige, heldere en licht omfloerste stem. Bach zou hier zeer tevreden mee zijn geweest.
In fact, although they do not do so here, most of the time the soloists are part of the chorus, which almost certainly was intended by Bach. It’s that enjoyable. Plus, you & I, by no means comparable to these professionals, can with practice perform these pieces and make the audience happy.
@@P1B1U1H1 Actually, I can sing these quite well, in my blood. Could have gone to Juilliard, too far from home, studied at midwest universities. Never stopped with the study's. Still a baritone tenor with the high 'C'. When I hear Terry Wey, I wish that I was a counter tenor, I am not. Love playing Bach on classical guitar, have been playing guitar since '67, one never stops learning with a guitar either. The Bach Cantatas/Rudy Lutz nothing finer. .
The final movement is extraordinary - both Bach's music and the exquisite performance of all the vocal and instrumental soloists. Thank you from Canada!
The sound mixing in this one is so optimal! All the parts can be heard so well, yet still blend. I think no one in the room had such an enjoyable listening as we do in this recording.
First time I've heard that bass in the many recordings I've listened to Much appreciated The Bach Foundation standards are so monumentally high, especially for live recordings The superb recording engineering matches that standard all the way I think these recordings will increasingly go down in history as the go to performances
What an exceptional and revealing performance this was for me. I only know this cantata from a very old recording that I wasn't to fond of to be honest but with one instrument per part and the four soloists as the chorus this was just like an old painting cleaned and restored to it's full glory. Bright, clear and a delight to listen to. Many thanks.
The OVVP= One Voice Per Part choir ending this cantata is amazing. So clear and transparent. It, simply put, sounds wonderful. Bach’s cantata output never fails.
j.s.bach had great respect for his contemporaries Italian composers. This cantata is almost copied and you can hear it very well, from the concerto a five, in D minor for solo oboe and 9/2 violins of VenetianTommaso Albinoni!

The final chorus is overwhelming
Hervorragende Interpretation einer Kantate, leicht wie Champagnerblasen!!👏🍾🌠🎇🎆🤩

Angels danced the day Bach wrote the Chor, they still are.

She is a queen. A perfect intonation doubled by the trumpets. Goosebumps !
Als het een jongen was geweest🙃
A stage full of soloists having the most fun anyone could possibly ever have. How Bach could contrive such things is beyond me.
