VGT outperformed SCHD and VOO over 5 and 10 years. Despite having most of my $500k retirement in VGT, I try to beat my Roth with my taxable account but still underperform the S&P 500.

I'm taking a hybrid approach with VGT, SCHD, and VOO as my foundation over a 20-year horizon. I still enjoy life, travel, and buy what I love. It's the best combo, plus I enjoy the small victories of dividends, dividend growth, and share price appreciation.

Fidelity's high-growth index funds are designed to track indexes comprised of companies with strong growth potential. These funds offer investors a way to achieve long-term growth by holding onto investments in companies that have the potential for significant expansion. This strategy can help diversify a portfolio and potentially yield favorable returns over an extended period.

51 years old. I have $295,588.25 in my Fidelity retirement account. I cranked my contributions up to 35% with the help pf Norman Vitalii. Fidelity just holds my ETFs/stocks. I made that change earlier this year. I'm hoping to end the rat race by 60 but it's looking more like 63-ish. I want to have $1.5M and bring in about $60k in dividends each year.

Dividends are what got me into investing in the stock market. The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. Have over $600K in my portfolio as I bought a lot of dividend stocks before, I'm buying more now, and I will buy more when it drops further.

I was advised to diversify my portfolio among several assets such as stocks and bonds since this can protect my inheritance portfolio of about $2.5m. Everyone does it differently. Every month, I plan to invest a certain amount I have left over from my income. I tend to either split the amount I'm investing among several funds or alternate between funds. I do it every month with the intention of holding long term. Mutual funds are awesome because they average all of your shares, and your basis is based on average. One thing to be mindful of is that some funds have a minimum buy in, and even a fee for buying shares, you can check all the details for this on the prospectus for the fund.

The reason it appeals to me is to diversify in the unlikely chance BRICS has some success. Highly doubt it since if Putin goes to their next BRICS meeting in August in South Africa, SA is a member of ICC and is obligated to arrest Putin on the warrant.

Invested more heavily in PFG (financials), ENR (consumer products) and NHI (healthcare) than the others. Enrolled in DRIPs for all these stocks, but now that I’m retired I got out of that and use the dividends toward our living expenses. Word of Caution: I’m not a financial advisor, so encourage anyone reading this to do your own stock research; there are plenty of online tools for screening potential dividend-paying stocks. I use four criteria: A reasonably high yield (above 4%). A company with products and/or services I feel will be in demand for many years. A solid dividend-paying history of at least 15 years. A stock price in the $5-$100 range.

Within the IRA, you can invest in almost anything, including these Fidelity funds. There are a few exceptions, but generally you would be able to buy Fidelity funds even if your IRA account was at another brokerage, such as Vanguard, Schwab, etc.
