Izzie, this is the second week in a row that we have musically matched. Dionne Warwick is a favorite singer of mine; Close to You, Walk on Bye…She sang a lot of Burt Bacharach compositions when I was just a kid. Keep it up and I will adopt you… and by extension Ciara too. I am happy that your engine troubles proved to be e minor issues. I love a trouble free week. Jodi and I love to go to the theater and I hope it was a wonderful evening for you. We didn’t get to the theater last year, but we did go to six or seven concerts. Music is an important part of our lives. By the way, I meant to comment last week, that I love your taste in art. You have some lovely pieces hanging in your home. I am retired, though Jodi still goes off to work each day. Seeing Izzie wish Ciara a good day is a familiar sight at our home as well. Somethings are common human experiences the world over, no matter the lifestyle. You two show us that every week. Remember, love each other. Much love from Ohio, Tim
Hello Tim! We are more familiar with the Carpenters version but I had a little listen to Dionne Warwick's version and it is equally lovely! We are glad the engine doesn't seem to be anything serious, but will have to keep an eye and see whether the temperature gauge is faulty or if its something more serious. We don't go to the theatre enough as it is so expensive, but try to go as much as we can afford to! My Grandma has done most of the art on the boat- bar the prints- and I love having lots of her work with me, makes me feel at home. I feel sad saying bye to Ciara as she goes off to work but love knowing she is on her way home and not far away! Besides I love hearing all her stories from her theatre jobs- its nice that I'm working from the boat so much at the moment so we don't have to worry so much about it being left unattended! Have a wonderful week! -Izzie x
Izzie, my week is off to a wonderful start. Jodi and her sister are off to see The Dave Mathew’s Band in concert tonight, so I am enjoying a quiet evening to myself. We are lucky that we have many of Jodi’s father’s paintings on our walls. He was a fabulous artist and I loved both of her parents dearly. I think that you can I could talk music for hours on end. Music is a love that my son and I share as well. My mother passed her love of music down to me. It is good that you miss Ciara during the day. I still miss Jodi during the day, even after all of these years. I love the way you two whole heartedly adore each other. In truth, I watch your channel for the two of you more than your narrow boat adventures. Have a wonderful week. Much affection, Tim
Dear Izzie, Ciara and Lavender The two of you do such a great job of the Carpenter's song Close to you, please don't stop the songs. I noticed the name of Barbara on the mug. May I be so bold as to ask who she is?? Ciara here is a tip for you. When you pull Lavender to shore wrap the line around your hips and lean into it. You will probably find it is easier to bring Lavender to shore that way. Give it a try and let me know. Izzie when you turn the ignition switch to the first position it feeds electricity to what is known as a "glow plug". The glow plug(s) warms up both the air and diesel fuel as it enters the cylinder and therefore making fuel combustion more efficient, especially in cold weather. As for the sunnier weather do remember girls that the sun reflects off the water and you could get a wicked burn. You will be more prone to sun stroke as well so get yourselves a couple of floppy hats to protect the back of your necks and head. Hugs to all three of you. Your parents must be very proud of you, and if they aren't I'll adopt you. Mark Alberta, Canada
Hello lovely Mark! We love Close to You, it is a special song to us both. Barbara is a mystery to us also! The mug was on the boat when we bought it, we like to imagine that she was someone very special but we don't know of course. I have passed the tip onto Ciara and she said she will give it a try. We are wearing lots of sun cream, and I will have to get my sun cap out again especially for cruising- although I think Ciara would look fab in a floppy hat. Hugs right back to you! - Izzie x
Wonderful to see you both enjoying summer sunshine.pleased your engine was checked over. You both look wonderful , enjoying your new songs, beautiful music. Have a great week. 🎶🎶💕
Hi Susan, we are loving the summer sunshine although it was definitely a little bit hot today, I felt for Ciara when she had to get the underground train to work. Hope you are having a wonderful week! - Izzie x
There you are singing again and it was wonderful❤❤! I like that song a lot! And your videos accompanied by Izzie’s beautiful music and your sympathetic personalities (I hope, these are the right words🙈)give me such a calming and happy feeling ! Lots of love 🙋🏼♀️❤️❤️
Thank you for your lovely words Anke, glad you enjoyed our singing! So happy the video brought you some calm and happiness. Have a wonderful week - Izzie x
Loved hearing you sing together you both have beautiful voices. Also getting to go with you on your walk about. As always can't wait to see what fun and adventures you get upto next week 🏳️🌈♥️🏳️⚧️
Good night Carla and lzzle I love watching your videos of you and your adventures on your narrow boat I hope that you all are well and enjoying your adventures aboard your narrow boat please keep your videos going on your you tube channel please keep safe and warm
You two are a breath of fresh air. When my car used to make strange noises when I was in my 20 s my brother a mechanic used to tell me to turn my radio up 😂 so I couldn't hear them, just so I wouldn't pester him lol. As always your voices are beautiful ❤ xx
Hello lovely Susan! Thank you so much! There seems to be a new mysterious noise on Lavender Lee every week, maybe we will have to get a radio to drown it out like you did hahaha! - Izzie x
Tuning in is like an exploding microcosm of all things good appearing on our laptop. Such pleasure to follow along, aided by wonderful music, singing, and your personalities. Curious as to whether it is the propellor thing or the shaft thing it is on thats bent and how dear they are? Just something else to add to the long list I guess. Have a wonderful and sun drenched week. 💙🏳🌈
Aw Erin what a lovely comment. Thank you so much! I am not sure, I was told by an engineer that he reckons we have a slight bend in the propellor itself, I would estimate it costing at least a grand to get fixed. Ah well, we will get there when we get there! Hope you are also enjoying the sun. - Izzie x
Another lovely video by you young ladies, never tire of watching you. I’ve just downloaded Izzie’s song "Things I said in Autumn", it’s a beautiful song which is my favourite. I find myself playing it many times.🎵🎶, just love it. 👌🏻Take care.
Hello Kenny! Glad our videos aren't getting boring yet! Glad you are enjoying the music, thank you for downloading it that means a lot. Have a great week - Izzie x
Thanks for another enjoyable video, loved seeing the sights of London and river Thames, and your beautiful voices singing together! Nice to see you making the most of life on your incredible narrow boat, the lovely Lavender Lee, ❤️from🇨🇦, see you next week!
Thanks for a lovely comment Carolyn, the river Thames looked amazing but not too tempting for a cruise! So happy to hear you are enjoying the music, we are loving life on the boat. See you next week! - Izzie x
Good vlog I think you should get a book and write down the things you need to keep an eye on like the stern glad and weed hatch they are very important cos the prevent yr boat sinking be careful and tc care worry for you luv from the oldies👍🤗🤗🌺🌹🌷
Hi Ann, we check the stern gland and weed hatch regularly for water ingress, we have talked about getting a log book so maybe that will help us be extra careful. Have a great week! Thanks for your comment. - Izzie x
Another great vlog thank you, the variety of content is superb. I love that track "Things I said In Autumn" ... in fact all 4 tracks on "For When I Sleep" are awesome.
Glad you had someone out to look at your engine/batteries. I really love it when you both sing together, your such a lovely couple, are you both loving life on your boat? I've been on mine for 2 months and it's been a struggle after living in a house I haven't quite settled into boat life yet. x 😊
Hello! Thanks for your comment, we also felt relieved to have someone look over the engine/batteries thank goodness. Thank you for being so sweet! We are both loving life on the boat although it isn't without its struggles of course, plenty more to worry about in terms of maintenance, and we don't always show all our stresses on camera but I can assure you we do have grumpy days! I think you will get a proper sense for boat life after 6 months- we are coming up to a full year now and wouldn't change it for the world. - Izzie x
@@IzzieandCiara I am hoping it will feel like home soon, it's definitely better than it was when we first got on the boat. We have some jobs to do over time but she looks better than she did! You both look happy on your boat so there's hope for us 😊x

A wonderful video of you week as always, Thank you for bringing us along with you. When you turn on the engine If you count to 20 as warm the plugs you shouldn't have a problem and if you're really serious about crossing the terms in your boat you may want to look up a few of the UA-camrs as they have done it before it looks very dangerous.
Hi Martyn, thanks for the comment! We aren't looking to cross the thames now, maybe we will consider the non tidal thames one day but I can't imagine us ever being brave enough to do central London! - Izzie x
I have been hoping someone else would say something because I hate to bring it up. You really need to get your bent propeller / vibration issue delt with before you have additional damage to deal with. The propeller pushes on the shaft, and the force is transmitted to the thrust bearing in the gearbox, then through the mounts on the engine & gearbox to the boat. The vibration is causing issues in your stern tube, as you know because of the excess water in your bilge. If the shaft is rubbing against the stuffing box instead of spinning in the packing you could damage the shaft and the stuffing box. But what I am more concerned about is your gearbox. The thrust bearing is taking a beating. (The radial bearings are too!) I am afraid a gearbox failure would put a big hole in your budget. I am sorry to bring it up, but I really think the bent propeller & the vibrations need to be addressed before you do much cruising.
Hi Hugh, we are very aware it needs to be dealt with but sadly dont have the £1000+ it will take to fix it quite yet, and are saving up for it. Thanks for the advice, we will get there as soon as we are able! Its top of our list! - Izzie x
Hello! This is a bit of a controversial one for us as I (Izzie) really like our curtains and Ciara really doesn't like them. They came with the boat- we have since had lots of compliments on them from friends and subscribers but nothing has persuaded Ciara yet! I live in hope though! - Izzie x
