we actually learn why towards the end of the game, which is because they built the pizzaplex over the FNAF 6 restaurant, and were still repairing it/building around it. Still was probably intentional
I just realized that all of these animatronics are destroyed in a way that directly affects their biggest vices. Roxy had her eyes taken and her good looks destroyed while her pride and ego were her flaws. Chica was a glutton who was crazy for food, and she had her beak and mouth removed. Monty was angry and ripped things apart, and now he doesn't have claws or legs and is kinda the most helpless one. Interesting how their downfalls mirror their problems.
@@notrealnamenotatall2476 And his mouth ripped up, turning his full smile into what looks more like a sawblade. He was helpful and kind with his words, and for that has his mouth rendered little more than a weapon even when not used at all.
I also think it's interesting to note, that her greatest assets, her eyes, are also the thing causing her the most anguish. Since she can see perfectly, even through objects, she can see all of her flaws, all of the time.
@@victoriangm7774 if all i was seeing all the time was my skinless skull i too would probably need to validate myself by saying I look good as she does, because you never know for sure and others might be liers... that is actually a cool concept for a type of psychological torture
I do wish there were more interactions. Like Chica saying "Freddy, glad parts and services fixed you. I was really worried" or Monty saying something like "I get you're the main star Fredbear, but can you at least try to help look for this kid?" even better if slowly throughout the game they start acting different, and that affected the voice lines.
@@notrealnamenotatall2476 there was a deleted scene were Freddy was going to be attacked by his possessed friends and the horror of him realizing they’re likely gone forever
It’s worth noting that there’s a plush of Funtime Foxy behind her couch that his a direct view of her spot in front of the mirror, as if she feels a need to live up to her predecessors glamour and popularity.
Funtime Foxy definitely was a very confident character based on voice alone.. though the silence from them in SL itself also might imply either simply a solitary nature, or insecurity to speak at all.
I mean this in the most innocent way possible, but Roxy has such a pretty design in her in-universe marketing and key art. Purple and silver with green and black highlights, bright red outfit, a keytar as her instrument, the whole racer aesthetic... Her colors really compliment the neon lights of the Pizzaplex, and contrast nicely against her bandmates.
Agreed! I like that in the midst of purples and oranges, she’s a character with black, blood red, neon green, it contrasts well to the other characters, as well as the backdrop of the mall. It kind of makes her stand out as more serious, with grimmer colors and a more serious tone.
With how Vanessa threatens Freddy with replacement and what happened with Bonnie/the rise of Monty, Roxanne's fear of losing doesn't just give her the most legitimate personality out of the whole lot; but possibly makes her the most realistic sapient program of the bunch. Not only can she be scrapped if her character gets unpopular, but another endo can take her spot as this character and leave her as spare parts. The she-wolf's paranoia fueled ego loop could actually be a coping mechanism for realizing that if she isn't the best, she's just as disposable as any other robot. Hell, she's likely seen the mounds of trashed parts cracking through the fault lines of this sinking complex or bump into exoskeletons wandering about parts and service, effectively coming face-to-face with Ego Death after every show. Chika gorges herself on garbage too much possibly care, Monty's always lost in rage or wanting Freddy's Spot and The Lead Bear is seemingly too gentle to know what's what before Gregory breaks his way into his chest cavity. But Roxy? Her perfect eyes sees that Red Light, including the infrared light and radio signals which make up the company Wi-Fi that could easily butt-dial or fat-finger out her doom in an instant.
@Sailor Polaris Is it naked Jack Kennedy style cost cutting to avoid any further spending on an instantly decaying Pizza Mall? Is Fazbear Inc like Microsoft and has internal competition fueled sabotage and mascot favoritism so dysfunctional, it makes the child murder seem rational? Is whomever running the company just savoring the prospect of perfectly legal torture and killing of Sapient Machines? Knowing this franchise, the answer is likely all of the above.
There's some serious robocop/measure of a man themeing hiding JUST under the surface of this franchise (starting in SL), but it's definitely the most prevalent in SB. I wish they'd commit and do stuff with that concept!
@@thecpmr6276 While Fnaf in general has a problem in utilizing the concepts its been carrying for almost a full decade like even Squimpus McGrimpus did, post Security Breach is in a position to go father then general cyberpunk. The Ghost/s Of The Shell can have a conversation with the fully awoken AI which both inhabit the same robot, possibly to struggle for dominance or try and broach a symbiotic balance more than Golden Freddy Theories or the Stitch Wraith ever did. We're already once again having children be kidnapped and killed and the Machines have mannerisms which suggest the Endo personalities have likely broken past the Singularity, so let's finally utilize the potential of that chocolate already in narrative peanut-butter.
One deleted audio from Freddy says that he was aware that other Freddy’s had done horrible things and that he was different but it was likely scraped for the joke where Freddy freaks out when seeing the one room with all the endos waiting for a shell. @@sagrawolf Can you imagine them having a scene of what starts the Endo Hunt in the Basement is because they saw Glamrock Freddy and attempt to swarm him and Greg for any scrap of casing they can rip from either? Would at least explain the amounts of casing cracks and dirt Freddy gets in 6 hours.
the idea of everyone going out racing together is SO cute! one of the things i really like about security breach, even if nothing is ever really done with it, is how much freddy seems to care about the rest of the animatronics. getting happy when the daycare attendant gets mentioned, worrying about his friends wellbeing every time you upgrade him, talking about how much he misses bonnie,,, i think it's so sweet and i could totally imagine him getting the others to go to roxy raceway specifically because he KNOWS how happy it'll make her to see her friends enjoying HER attraction. i think the relationships between the animatronics is really nice, and i wish we had gotten to see more of it in security breach.
I honestly hope that in a future fnaf game we do get to see the animatronics interact with each other, considering how advance the new ‘modern’ animatronics are it would make sense for somebody to program them being able to interact with each other(especially with the thought that there’s bound to be kids who have 2 favorite animatronics and they both get booked for the party, how cool would it be to see your favorites hanging out and joking around while wishing you a happy birthday!), it makes them feel more real and alive when they can interact with their own kind like they do with guests. It could even add in a horror factor where, depending on how you play the game, the animatronic enemies keep regrouping with any information they find out while trying to get you and attempt to make plans to catch you off guard enough to kill you(like I said, in a future fnaf game, I know it won’t be for security breach or the dlc)
I like Roxie because she's proof there's still a lot of good with the series. As an entertainer (sort of) with problems with depression and anxiety, its great to see a charachter who shares the same tidbits and is pretty well rounded outside of her tough facade
I like how all of the Glamrocks seem to accurately reflect the lives of real celebrities. Roxanne has serious self-esteem issues (super common for female celebs when they're constantly picked apart by tabloids), Chica binges on pizza that could be a kid-friendly reference to drug addiction, Monty's the new guy who has to prove himself a worthy replacement to the fans, and I feel Freddy serves as a good role model by protecting someone who can't protect themselves. Roxy's pep talk in the mirror even sounds like something a manager would say to praise a client.
I find it interesting how these animatronics that don't seem to be haunted, have more personality and more human like, then the older animatronics that were 100% haunted.
I think there's plenty of fanfiction-trope-ish stuff in the series already without the animatronics having personalities. XD Believe me, I know from experience.
The closest we got to personality in older games was fnaf 1 freddy who was much more cunning in that he hid himself better than other animatronics and foxy being laidback (???) as shown with his humming
@@notrealnamenotatall2476 Or it could be due to either how the older Animatronics were made in the 80s, and/or the fact they were haunted ment the souls were having VERY difficult times trying to move the robots they possessed. Like trying to walk around in a full suit of heavy armor, it's more difficult than it looks.
Probably because the souls were out for revenge, which is why they act very aggressive and robot like. All they crave is to be free, all they want in the games is to kill the security guard so it makes sence that they don't have any distinct personalitys (though they certainly do when you pay attention) These anamatronics aren't haunted and are for entertainment, it makes sence that they have such distinct personalitys cause their entire brand and entertainment is based on their personalitys
Coming back to this video after Ruin is released. Not only does Roxy come back, she practically gets a redemption arc by remembering Cassie and saving her. And now I absolutely can’t wait to see her again in the next game or dlc. She’s now my favourite animatronic of the whole FNAF series.
I think this is a pretty good analysis of Roxy's character, however I'll add that often, behind a bully is an even bigger bully. My take is the things Roxy says to Gregory, and presumably to others too, are things being said to her, by management and staff she can't talk back to or fight back against. For example Vanessa shows herself to have a VERY sharp tongue during her dialogues, and an often overlooked fact is Vanessa went through Roxy's room just before Gregory and Freddy did. Vanessa likely called Roxy a loser and worse things that set Roxy's crying off. By who else and how many other times as Roxy been treated that way?
@@thecpmr6276 For sure. And if Roxy's being treated like that, is it any wonder she's a mess? and face it, all 4 of the surviving Glamrocks are each a mess in their own way, which only farther hints at them being abused and that contributing to them all being a mess in their own ways.
@@Seriously_Unserious Man! Yeah! I said it elsewhere, I'll say it here. This game has some real Measure of a Man/Robocop themeing and I wish they'd commit to it!
Wait, she did? Hm... that actually does give some perspective alongside her attitude. Maybe she just dislikes the animatronics in general, and feels like taking the aggression out on Roxy? I dunno, I'm theorizing.
@@commanderjason7786 Or she knows she's mistreating them by hacking and remotely controlling them when she's going Vanny on them and acts cruel towards them out of a guilty conscience.
Shattered Roxy has some of the coolest mechanics I’ve seen in a character. Now that she’s lost her eyesight, she has to rely on sounds the player makes in order to track her prey (I think it’s running, jumping, and using the blaster or camera, which she’s immune to now as well). It’s almost like the spiritual successor to the Funtime hallways taken to the 3D of the Pizzaplex. What I find cool is that you can almost sneak right by Roxy if you crouchwalk, right under her nose. If you’re patient and aware of the STAFF Bots, its an amazing challenge to circumvent her without the help of Freddy.
Her AI is a bit more basic than that, and quite scuffed in some ways, but that's more a factor of the game's obvious lack of finer development than her character concept. The idea of her being blinded is definitely quite interesting, and her idle animations are actually also replaced with something that at a glance is difficult to identify between sniffing and sobbing - though the file names reveal it to be the latter. Her AI will always run from where she is to a security alert when one is triggered, regardless of other subsequent alerts and sounds, which is kind of a weird issue, and she also always does know where you are but only slowly walks towards you. Loud sounds, though, such as running do indeed tempt her to lunge blindly and immediately. Her 'boss fight' escape sequence thing, while over the top, does have the incredibly interesting idea that those blind jumps could be utilized to get her to do things without realizing it - whether it's further damaging herself or opening the path.
Roxanne is such a great character, She arguably has the most personality in the game besides Glamrock Freddy, Also very relatable with her self esteem issues because I actually have self esteem issues myself too, I see so much potential in her personality and I hope the Ruin DLC fleshes out her personality more if we can repair her. She really deserves redemption Imo, I felt bad hearing her cry. Even tho Monty is my favorite Roxanne is Awesome too. And also if she wasn't hacked, as nice as Glamrock Freddy is, I can definitely see him comforting her and motivating her to make her feel better. Freddy is a good friend.
This game needed a SAVE ALL ending to complement with the animatronics being more friendly looking and with personalities to boot. I know the majority of the game ended up in the cutting room floor so a totally different "pacifist" path was out of the question but it is a bizarre choice making this animtronics so human like just for them to inevitably broken. No wonder Gregory was given flak by the community for destroying them.
Exactly! I Tottally agree with you Man. This game Needed a Pacifist Ending where we should've been able to save the glamorcks from Glitchtraps control and let us work together with them to defeat Vanny & Glitchtrap once and for all.
i would've loved a momment where Roxy fails to catch Gregory and has a big meltdown. Screaming and crying and falling to the ground, eventually returning to her room for a bit and then coming out at full force, full of anger and dashing around, making it actually harder for her to find you. this would all happen after Roxy's shattered. maybe just a momment of her returning to her room to cry if she isn't shattered.
Here’s something I noticed: throughout the game as the other animatronics get progressively more and more dirty Roxy’s hair stays clean up until she looses her eyes. Though, you can see she made an attempt to clean despite not having eyes because it’s not as dirty as the others.
Honestly I legitimately feel bad for Roxanne, and it is true that her accident is her own doing, but Gregory seems downright evil at points. I really hope we get to see more of her after Security Breach and Ruin, and have her get some kind of resolution for losing her appearance.
roxanne took a while to grow on me, but i really like her nowadays. i like her design (especially her big ol' fluffy hair and tail and her awesome shoulder pads), i like her attitude, i LOVE her voice actresses performance, and i think she has the coolest shattered designs in the game. she also has arguably the most prominent personality in the game, which is saying a lot considering how well established most of security breach's characters are, and i think that's part of the reason she blew up so much. while roxy isn't my favorite from security breach-- i think freddy will always have that title-- i do still think she's pretty cool and i hope we get to see her again in ruin!
also with the books. you can kiiinda excuse her hatred of gregory by the fact that he's kind of the biggest threat to her being "the best" that the pizzaplex has. as you can see his tag on many of the arcade machines scoreboards. GGY.
I see the Security Breach animatronics as the cool group from high school that also peaked in said high school. Chica - Was probably the cheerleader and was mean to people but ended up gaining weight. Rosanne - She was an athletic type a track star who possibly made it to the college level but nothing father then that. Good looking but she also was an asshole who was insecure which is why she lashed out. Monty - Stereotypical football jock who maybe became college but most likely didn’t go farther then high school. Ended up with a shit career and is poor now. Freddy - The one with a heart of gold and has friends in all of the groups. Ended up doing the best since he cares about people
I find it a funny connection, that Mangle, meant to serve as Foxy's replacement, also has voicelines concerned about her looks also coming from a place of insecurity. Going back and forth on them being Ugly, but they're beautiful in their ugliness. Now we have Roxy, another Foxy replacement, with an almost similar schtick and I can't help but feel that Mangle's voice lines in VR inspired Roxy a bit here.
@@illseeyaonthedarksideofthemoon indeed I did. You should start being angry at people who perpetuate shitty attitudes instead of the people who point them out.
I love how all the Glamrocks have major flaws. It makes them seem more human and it's one of the reasons why I attached to Security breach so hard when I had merely a passing interest in fnaf before. Sure, I'd watch let's plays and listen to whatever mattpat said... but it was really Security Breach characters that got me interested. I'm playing the games myself and even reading the Tales of The Pizzaplex books, writing fanfiction and coming up with my own theories. SB's story is a mess, but I feel they got it right when it came to making real appealing character concepts.
It's interesting, especially considering that FNAF started out with how uncanny and stilted and creepy animatronics are (janky or no movements, no speaking lines). These are full on robots with AI personalities. Far less creepy, but also more developed character-wise.
About them building the raceway above the sinkhole, I personally think this is one of the biggest problems with Security Breach and the modern franchise in general: the amount of ineptitude on display is so high that it suggests (to me) that Fazbear LLC is actively attempting to do evil in the world. The books make that basically explicit, and the earlier games show that William is nefarious but does not imply that Fazbear Inc is actually evil. In Security Breach, however, it seems like the choices the company as a WHOLE make only make sense if they're actively pursuing chaos, death, and even the resurrection of William. This would be fine if we had any other characters to observe or any idea of why they're doing this, but right now we have to just assume Glitchtrap infects someone higher up off screen.
Absolutely agree. Though props to them if this turns out to be some sort of massive remnant-creating machine under the guide of an entertainment center. XD
I mean it makes sense given the track record. They've had several missing/murdered children occurrences and just kept on re-opening with barely any changes made. As well as having such safety standards as 'if the spring lock suits go off, remember to bleed out away from sight", etc. Which I assume is based off an old theme Scott had in the games about capitalism run amock (ignoring safety for cost cutting, etc.) Plus whoever keeps this going, and intentionally built over the old pizzeria, probably just took it as a necessary risk. The pizzaplex was just a means to an end. Hopefully we get some answers later to who's pulling the strings and why they wanted access to Afton/the Blob.
@@Ideataster Reopening could still plausibly be because the people running the business (besides William) weren't involved in the murders. Moving on and trying to rebuild the brand and stuff. Actually choosing to build on top of the old pizzeria is a whole different level of irresponsible. I think it implies not that they are taking risky cost-saving measures, but rather actively working toward some goal that's not about running the business, even more than bringing William back. If the Pizzaplex is ALL just a ruse in order to bring William back, they still don't need to build on top of the old pizzeria to do that. I'm not saying this is for sure but I think it implies that the Pizzaplex is supposed to collapse in some way, because building over a sinkhole is pretty much guaranteed to end that way.
I always wondered if Vanny was the only one that we know Glitchtrap infected. I mean we know Vanny, but what if there's a small cult infected by Glitchtrap?
"Pride comes before the fall, and it's hard to say anyone falls harder than Roxy does... ...well, maybe Monty." Okay, _that_ was gold. Excellent writing there. Anyways, Roxy, Roxy, Roxy.. she's quite the character. One of the main mascots of the 'Plex, it seems, to a higher degree than Monty and even Chica are - though this is more likely also due to her personality fitting that. The others are.. not less outgoing for their own lack of it, but more because Roxy is just incredibly pushy about being the face of things, the very best. The insecurity is also an intriguing thing, not just because of the whole idea of her being somewhat aware even if she was driven to mercilessly hunt and attempt to kill a child (because no one directly hit by one of those jumps would survive to begin with, even before her claws and teeth came into the equation), but because of the way the Greenrooms and Rockstar Row are laid out. She doesn't close the curtains for that - it's a part of what the world knows her as. Sure, there's only two people there, but still, she doesn't go to get full privacy, and if she had a moment of insecurity during the day than she'd be sobbing and berating herself in full view. It's a look into the fitting dystopian exaggeration of an actual celebrity's life - no privacy. Flaws, insecurities and coping is all in the open for the world to see. Roxy does, however, have a terrifying Shattered form. The exposed framework of her casing where the plastic breaks away but before the metal does gives the impression of ribs jutting out from a massive wound, and her face is nearly fully broken around her eyes, as well as her lower jaw loosely swinging as she walks. In her walking animations, she twitches, not as though from malfunctions (although certainly there's going to be some of those too), but to show her focusing in on every sound, because that's pretty much all she's got. No sensory systems, or at least not a lot of them, are still intact, and her sense of smell likely also is ruined with the char if the kart crushing her didn't do so first, so she's running solely on hearing. And she's arguably faster, as well as her immunity to visual stuns, leaving her the most dangerous roaming enemy in the building once all of them are shattered - Chica may stumble faster on limbs which really have no right to work when their sockets should be bent out of shape, but Roxy still sprints, and for longer too, and her lunges are just as they were before. Sure, she knows she's fallen away from the looks she had, but she's still bent on winning the chase to catch that kid. Though her new appearance, with the exposed framing and endo in her limbs and the hint of mechanical parts in a nearly black void where her eyes were, the massive wound on her torso and the burnt and bent hair, would admittedly fit pretty well as a metal or rock performer even then - it's not like the designs hide the robotic nature of them, and those sort of genres do love their skeletons and representations of death and undeath.
I do like how the animatronics at first seem one note, but through messages, in game behavior, and books. You can see some depth. Chica is the trash gremlin, but the intro shows she does cares for Freddy, and possibly the other members. Monty is an envious gator that has anger issues, but that might be to hide his depression. Lashing out to ignore his feelings of possible inferiority to Freddy and the band-mate he replaced. You've explained Roxy perfectly. I really hope they find a way to have these characters return, even if it's in a new body.
She has defenetly one of if not the best personality in the game. I wasn't really hyped for her at first, but she's defenetly a really solid and complete character. I really like how she acts and talks to herself. By the way, how can her hair move the way it looks on the posters? Does she have real fur? Or is it metal? Is it a combination of both? Too many questions and no anwsers.
@@notrealnamenotatall2476 Yeah, same with Monty and Chica. Maybe it's realistic fur? I mean, we're talking about a franchise about a british child murderer man that keeps returning no matter how many times they kill him. Everything is possible at this point...
Hello, puppetmaker who works with faux fur professionally here! It's likely that she has styled, long-pile faux fur, likely a cheap nylon as that creates that ultra-glossy effect, or it's a certain kind of tinsel fur. If I were to make a guess, she has a 4"-5" pile faux fur tail (as longer piles of fur love to clump together naturally, resulting in that "spiked" look) and a styled wig designed to match. At least, that's what I'd use if I were recreating Roxanne in real life.
coming back to this video after ruin, and seeing the pizzaplex use to have a foxy area where roxy's is now, it reveals a root of her insecurities being quite literally the pizzaplex's replacement for foxy(not just the games, but in universe). replacing one of the core 4, roxy tries to build herself up, that she is truly the best if it means she re,placed foxy. and, while unlike bonnie, foxy doesnt seem remembered much by the customers, it might be why shes so insecure
The animatronics are the draw but the human main characters like michael we know more of, there arent many human characters if we are talking the games.
*Unpopular Opinion:* Maybe this is just me but the part of the game where we see Roxy talking to her reflection read off to me more as Vanny/Vanessa talking to Roxy *through* Roxy, especially with the ending line of “Your fans are watching you right now. I know.” As if she was aware that Gregory (the player) *was* watching her.
I will always be disappointed that we never got to see the animatronic team just interacting with each other before Vanny took them over. Seeing them as friends or wandering around the pizzaplex as themselves should have been a defining point in the game, not just Freddy saying they were friends and never seeing them even talk to each other.
It's funny that chica and Freddy don't have any ego problems but Montgomery and Roxanne do it's kind of strange it also kind of fitting that those two animatronics would be the ones with ego problems.
I guess that might come from Rox and Monty being very much new characters that have to perform alongside characters that have been around since the 70s(Fredbear, later Freddy)and the 80s(Chica)would be a daunting task, given Freddy and Chica had imprinted on children for generations by that point. Not to mention they have to fill the roles of Bonnie and Foxy, which are hard shoes to fill.
Man, if you put lipstick and feminine eyes on something, there will be people simping for it. There are Transformers indistinguishable from any standard model, except they seem to have lipstick and eyeliner, and you've got humans who want her to sit on them. Not as violent as such an encounter would be with Roxy, but much quicker. Humans are an amazing species.
Please, do not simp for Transformers. Biology aside, the age gap would be enough to leave even the most depraved Genshin Impact player crying for mommy.
I remember the days when the OG Foxy was popular, and not for simping reasons. Steel Wool knew Foxy had high regards, and most likely based Roxanne off of his success from the fans. Which in turn, like you said, has sprouted even more simps in recent days.
I don’t agree with her being the most animalistic, as Monty destroys everything in his path with pure, animalistic rage and Chica is barely even sentient as the game goes on, reducing her so much that all she can do is screech and chase you, but this is an incredible analysis. I really enjoyed it!
18:21 I'd probably add that it also maybe a play on the "Lonewolf" idea. She's a wolf, but at the same time her attitude makes her a loner when there isn't anyone to show-off. Her abrasive attitude contributes to that too.
The problem with the two new security breach friends, I feel, is... The issues with the development of Security Breach. I really like Roxanne, but the game is so buggy and unfinished that her and Monty seem... Less than what they should be.
Definitely agree with that. I feel like another year at least would've done it so much better, because characters like Chica and Monty could've gotten the same amount of character moments as Roxy did.

I didn’t fall in love with FNAF for the reasons most fans did. While I learnt to love other things later on, my introduction to FNAF was through security breach, where I fell in love with the characters. I’ll say it! I like Security Breach! It’s not a good game or story by any means but the characters are bright shining diamonds in the rough. Say what you want, but the characters in this game are filled with so much charm and likability that no amount of bad game design can change that. My list of favourite characters are literally all of the security breach characters before anyone else. Dang it, sometimes the characters can just be fun ok?
Funny that fans would say that when in the beginning, when there were only a few games and only a few characters, it was the interpretations of those characters that made fnaf what it was. XD So, yeah, totally agree on having full explored characters. ^_^

If I had to pick a favorite of all of the animatronics in FNAF lore, I'd pick Roxy every time. She's the most directly fleshed out character and quite honestly the most appealing. I think that with her looks and personality, I can see why see immediately became a fan-favorite. I just hope she isn't a one-hit-wonder character and the franchise will somehow include her in future stuff. As she says, she is the best 👏👏
I love everything about Roxy, but I gotta say programming an animatronic to have the arrogance and ego of Hybris is one thing, but giving that same animatronic enough sentience to internalize self loathing, insecurity and imposter syndrome is a whole other level of messed up. At the end of the day, Roxy just needs a hug and probably a good therapist.
I Seriously Think Shattered Roxanne Is One Of The Sickest Looking Characters. She Has So Much Potential To Be Frightening. The One Photo You Showed Of Her Roaming Towards A Door In A Dim Room Looks So Good. I Remember Scott Saying He Wanted To Add A Wolf First Before A Fox In Fnaf 1. And I Think It’s Interesting The Current Band Goes With That Idea. Love The Video Like Always! You’re Videos Are Phenomenal!!!
Not only does she return in ruin, but she is also given a diffrent side as she is nice and helpful in this dlc. Arguably the most compelx glamrock. Monty is also given a diffrent light and we realise that maybe he did nto kill bonnie. And perhaps, before being corrupted by the virus, he might have been a calm and nice fella judging by the cutouts and ride on his gold that depicts a calm, cool, relaxing aligator! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS btw :)
I think it would be awesome if the end game for Roxy was a literal chase through Roxy Raceway (you as Gregory in the kart, outrunning Roxy who perhaps literally destroys her raceway in chase which could easily lead to the fall with Gregory and Roxy falling into the pit)
I think I already said this but: It still feels Incredibly weird that the animatronics in security breach are fully sentient. So isn't breaking them basically murder. I kinda wish there was a way to save them from Afton's control
10:42 I really wish that you could see way more interaction between all of the band mates because it would just make sense in some situations that they are hanging out or interacting with one another
Roxy was never one of my favorite animatronics, but this video changed my perspective a bit. I already knew about the lore and the personalities of each animatronic, but to hear it so clearly and well explained was way more eye opening. I think Roxy will return in future games, given her popularity. Security Breach was a revolutionary game for the FNaF series, and I have no doubt Steel Wool is cooking something else up after the DLC. Great video, and an amazing analysis of Roxy.
Not gonna lie, if they could have given Roxy a more big role then just an enemy, like for example being another member of the team and help Freddy and Gregory, then I'm pretty sure she would be great
From what I can piece together from unused lines and some of the notes, Roxanne was to have a more proper "boss" fight akin to Monty. it would take place in the go Karts as she has specific lines where she challenges Gregory and even has a "3, 2, 1, GO!" line (it used to be in the wiki but someone removed it). It's implied that when you win the race it leads to her being unable to handle losing and jumping in the way of the kart and the sequence of events playing out just as they do in the final release.
Super awesome video. I really enjoyed Roxy as a character. 17:42 a complete story arc. I wish the entirety of Security Breach’s story was also complete like Roxy’s lol.
I know this is hindsight, but ruin shows her true personality when she isn't controlled by a virus and hellbent on revenge. The conversation she has with cassie at the end and the implied fact that she went out of her way to protect cassie from the mimic despite cassie shuting her down, tells us that Roxy is not as egotistical as we thought she was.
I think it's funny that I was actually looking at Roxy's wiki page a few hours ago and now you made a video about Roxy xD (+I might ask something later depends if you mention it or not lol) (Ok you mentioned it xD (it was the burned endo))
One of the most notable things about Roxanne that plays into her pride is that when the animatronics slowly deteriorate over the night Roxanne's hair always stays clean due to her keeping it up to shape, but when she's ruined and without her eyes her hair that had been glowing white the entire game up until that point becomes ragged, messy, and dirty since she's no longer able to see.
yeah it's impressive that they actually made animatronics with actual hair no, more like a glorious mane i imagine shells to be out of plastic or some mix of plastic and polymers after all their feet are made out of the same thing and they don't break or fall apart but roxy's hair? that's not plastic i kinda would expect it to be... one mold that simply pretends to be hair because nobody would be looking at her up close as mechanic does matter of fact this crap has so many bones i can easily imagine her just sitting and brushing her hair sure it might as well be few wigs put together and part of roxy's subroutines is brushing it 20 times a day but it's stylized it's kept like that not "build" like that all this thinking and theories and it's just a bunch of pixels made to look one specific way interesting isn't it?
Well, it's actually very obvious that she has a greed to succeed and wants to be the best, but that doesn't quite stop her from being a good character! She created a fandom!
If you check all the desks in Security Breach, you'll find the staff seemed to like her too--for whatever reason, there's a framed picture of her on a lot of the desks.
Roxanne is an intriguing character. She’s probably one of the most fleshed-out animatronics in the series. Her introduction makes her out to be some narcissistic, egocentric person who’s really self-centred right from the get-go. But as the game progresses, we see more of who she really is - a self-conscious individual who hides her emotional disdain and self-hatred under a mask of false confidence. She dishes out all of these awful insults as a means of projection; Roxanne doesn’t believe she’s good enough so she shoves her inner conflict onto others and makes them out to be the villain as a means of hiding the fact that she’s not okay. She convinces herself that she’s perfect and can do no wrong because deep down, she’s really hurting. Roxy doesn’t know how to reach out so she unleashes her anger onto others because she sees herself as weak for needing help. She’s broken, but doesn’t know how to fix herself and doesn’t understand where she went wrong. It’s such a tragic tale and I feel for her.
Roxy is pretty interesting in a way. She's an interesting successor to Mangle. A Foxy variant who branched out to be a different character in her own right
let's start with differen't standards of the pizzaplex since freddy's pizzeria just decided "screw it let kids destroy mangle and put it back together as they please"
Roxanne is the reason I tolerate SB's existence. That and all the endless content about just how messed up SB's development and story are, but Roxanne Wolf I can enjoy unironically and also completely out of context
I always found it disappointing how samey the glamrocks felt gameplay wise when they were given unique personalities and abilities. A hypothetical example of this in action would be Roxy being faster than you and being able to see through hiding places at close range in exchange for having a longer stun time when flashed and having louder and more frequent voice lines. Monty could be slower than you but be immune to stuns and occasionally destroy hiding spots out of frustration if he spends too long searching for you in the same place. And Chica can be a middle ground with the same speed as you and the ability to copy the others voice lines to trick you unless you know how often each of the characters speak. And man imagine if they also needed to use power stations.
Monty actually is immune to being stunned! Once he loses his shades after being shattered though, he’s as vulnerable as his bandmates. Not like you need to stun him after his boss fight anyways because shattered Monty as a feature hasn’t ever worked in the released game, he’s stuck stationary in one place (I believe somewhere in the atrium?). I agree with you though, features like that would seriously take the game up to another level! Especially chica’s voice box thing, being able to mimic the others and effectively trick players into using a strategy that is ineffective with her around while also providing a way for the players to be able to tell if its her by paying closer attention to their current environment. Also, Roxy being able to see movement through walls but not being able to find Gregory in hiding spots has always confused me, and these suggestions would be a great fix to that!
I hope her and Glamrock freddy become main characters for the future of fnaf, I just really like both of them and it'd be nice to have two main animatronics who help us on our journey
I'm glad more people are starting to understand how great Roxy is, a lot of people think her personality ends at the whole "I'm the best" mentality when that is not the case AT ALL Side note, she did not replace foxy, he was never part of the band, pirates cove has yet to be added to the pizzaplex during SB hence the advertisements for it everywhere yet their being no foxy in the building yet
After Ruin, I am here now firmly believing that at some point someone was tampering with animatronics, turning their worst traits to 11. Also, it seems they are sentient to some extent, or at least I would argue that's the case. Which sounds horryfying. I mean, imagine if someone was able to just increase or decrease your certain traits at will, without even you knowing.
The glitchtrap virus was probably the one tampering with the bots, but now it has been purged through the princess quest games whose ending is the canon one
I know I probably wasn't the only person who suggested this video but knowing that you saw my earlier comment about her makes me very happy that you're making a video. She is supremely cool and definitely deserved better, though to be fair every animatronic deserved better
God the Roxy in ruin and the Roxanne of security breach is more night and day then the daycare attendant, Gregory must have been the most infuriating brat in existence compared to how she was with Cassie.. Gregory better hope Cassie doesn't possess Roxy after giving her the shaft or worse that Cassie/Roxy escapes with revenge in mind.
difference is that Roxy had a prior connection to Cassie, while with Gregory there's nothing, his cruel treatment doesn't help either(bet Cassie will be mad when learning what Gregory did to Roxy.
@@prufanIt's quite possible that Roxy is normally nice to kids. In the main game, she's mean to Gregory while she's corrupted by a virus that's making her try to kill him. In Ruin, she's mad at him for stealing her eyes. Cassie is the only other child she is seen interacting with, so for all we know, Gregory may be an exception.
Forgot to comment when I initially saw this when it got posted but this one was really good. The thing I like most about your content is your ability to really dive into these characters and not care about the length or time needed to discuss them thoroughly. I’d love to hear your opinions on other media somewhere down the line but I am definitely still enjoying the FNaF content. Keep up the great work!
it's interesting to have an animatronic with an actual fleshed out personality along with Freddy. it's actually kinda sad to see her give herself pep talks and breakdown, almost makes me feel bad for her. then again, she did hunt down and try to kill a child. also racing her in Roxy Waceway would be a fun minigame, and it would show her “pride before the fall” defeat to a greater (and more climactic) degree than her defeat in the actual game.
i dont have anything smart to say or add but ive been watching your videos for a little while now and i just wanted to give my support, your videos are an absolute treat. Please dont stop anytime soon
If we take the characterization we got in Ruin. She only hates Gregory because he slighted Cassie. And if we take the context we got Gregory went missing and missed Cassie's birthday, making her cry. He made her Superstar cry, if unwittingly.
Roxanne doesn't like Gregory because he took her eyes. Cassie's birthday party happened ages ago, and even then NONE of her friends showed up. I.E. why Roxy says her 'friends' will show up next time and why, when Roxy grabs Cassie thinking she's Gregory, she demands her eyes back.
I gotta see what you say about her now that ruin’s out lol. She’s been cemented as my favorite fnaf character, and the only one who’s ever brought me to tears lmao
An interesting thing to note at least to me is that the jumpscare sounds for Roxy and Shattered Roxy are different. Roxy's regular jumpscare is just the normal scream you hear but shattered roxy's jumpscare has both the scream and what sounds like Roxy screaming in glitched out distress. Ik that the shattered versions of the Glamrocks all have altered jumpscares but to me Roxy's seems more like a regret type situation. She most likely regrets that she let her pride and ego get to her and had all her traits ripped away (no pun intended) from her in a second. But thats just my thoughts on it
Roxanne ironically became the best (as in, the most dangerous) of the evil animatronics, the moment she lost her looks. After getting crushed, Chica may be more silent, but can still get stunned by the laser. Monty lost the shaders that protected him after the crushing, so he can now get stunned as well; and without limbs, he's slower too. Not Roxanne. She has no eyes now, so the laser cannot work on her. She's faster, more erratic in her fury, and can't be stopped, now that she's a mess. She's the most likely to kill you, out of the three. In a way, she's now the "best" out of everyone. Just like she wanted. But at what price?
i always saw Roxy Raceway being “under construction” as an homage to how Foxy was always “out-of-order.” thought it was a cool detail
we actually learn why towards the end of the game, which is because they built the pizzaplex over the FNAF 6 restaurant, and were still repairing it/building around it. Still was probably intentional

Why people are talking about Mark's ego xD I mean he totally has one, but most of the time he is pretending to be a humble guy

Which actually leads to Shattered Freddy, who has his chest torn out. Where he hid Gregory. Where his heart led to his downfall.

And when she gets shattered, it's a freakishly awesome design.
@@w1ndgeneral226 The wires falling down her face gives off a "bleeding oil" look where her eyes used to be and it's such a solid design choice.
Yea

Admittedly it could've been due to the limitations of the older games. XD
@@notrealnamenotatall2476
Or it could be due to either how the older Animatronics were made in the 80s, and/or the fact they were haunted ment the souls were having VERY difficult times trying to move the robots they possessed. Like trying to walk around in a full suit of heavy armor, it's more difficult than it looks.
Probably because the souls were out for revenge, which is why they act very aggressive and robot like. All they crave is to be free, all they want in the games is to kill the security guard so it makes sence that they don't have any distinct personalitys (though they certainly do when you pay attention)
These anamatronics aren't haunted and are for entertainment, it makes sence that they have such distinct personalitys cause their entire brand and entertainment is based on their personalitys
Ooo, that's an interesting idea. It definitely makes "no body will miss you" hit differently.
@@thecpmr6276 For sure. And if Roxy's being treated like that, is it any wonder she's a mess? and face it, all 4 of the surviving Glamrocks are each a mess in their own way, which only farther hints at them being abused and that contributing to them all being a mess in their own ways.

The ai still always knows where you are, it just walks slower until it hears something loud
Doubts Roxy will be in Ruin.
Actually ends up being the most important animatronic in the game XD
XD
@@notrealnamenotatall2476 that would be a helluva turn for the franchise.
I mean it makes sense given the track record. They've had several missing/murdered children occurrences and just kept on re-opening with barely any changes made. As well as having such safety standards as 'if the spring lock suits go off, remember to bleed out away from sight", etc. Which I assume is based off an old theme Scott had in the games about capitalism run amock (ignoring safety for cost cutting, etc.)
Plus whoever keeps this going, and intentionally built over the old pizzeria, probably just took it as a necessary risk.
The biggest flaw in security breach is that once you give freddy the eye upgrade, he doesn't get purple eyeshadow and big beautiful lashes
"Pride comes before the fall, and it's hard to say anyone falls harder than Roxy does...
...well, maybe Monty."
Okay, _that_ was gold.
I think it might be fake fur hair. Though it does look exceptionally glossy, so it may be some other material.
@@AvalonAnthros Damn! Great explanation tbh.
Oh, that's really cool! 8D Thank you!
coming back to this video after ruin, and seeing the pizzaplex use to have a foxy area where roxy's is now, it reveals a root of her insecurities being quite literally the pizzaplex's replacement for foxy(not just the games, but in universe). replacing one of the core 4, roxy tries to build herself up, that she is truly the best if it means she re,placed foxy. and, while unlike bonnie, foxy doesnt seem remembered much by the customers, it might be why shes so insecure
I love how damaged she gets when she gets shattered
I'm mad scott gives more character depth and personality to the animatronics then the actual human characters
I guess but the animatronics are the ones you're there for like marketing wise the animatronics are the ones that matter
Yes. I want to be crushed.
Please, do not simp for Transformers. Biology aside, the age gap would be enough to leave even the most depraved Genshin Impact player crying for mommy.
Fun fact my friend lost NNN after I posted some transformers

I remember the days when the OG Foxy was popular, and not for simping reasons. Steel Wool knew Foxy had high regards, and most likely based Roxanne off of his success from the fans. Which in turn, like you said, has sprouted even more simps in recent days.
when Roxy actually becomes a big part of the Ruin DLC
I don’t agree with her being the most animalistic, as Monty destroys everything in his path with pure, animalistic rage and Chica is barely even sentient as the game goes on, reducing her so much that all she can do is screech and chase you, but this is an incredible analysis. I really enjoyed it!
well you can hear her sniffing when she's looking for you
and she's running directly at you and pursues likea wolf - but that's very far fetched

I know a lot of original fans say that the characterisation and personalities of the animatronics are simply “not FNAF” and that it’s a huge departure from what fans loved before, I would not have loved this series as much as I do without Security Breach.
@@notrealnamenotatall2476 interpretation of the characters was especially true back when they didn't have voices and they looked to fanmade series and David Near's old FNAF voices to get their personalities.
mine was FNAF world
I was an absolute scaredy cat and had only watched like 2 mattpat videos before then, FNAF world is still probably one of my favourite RPG's of all time and I wish this fandom didn't bash it because more updates would have been nice

After seeing ruin, I love Roxy even more. 💖
Hopefully in a new game she’ll be repaired and she and Cassie will have their happy ending. 😢
First! Thank you so much for this video, Roxanne Wolfe is my favourite character! You definitely did her justice :D
It's also implied that she's doing some heavy projection when she's insulting Gregory.
I wont lie, When I saw Roxy's fate I genuinely felt bad for her
Yeah…me too
But only because you would feel bad for anyone if that happened to them,Roxy deserved better
16:03 the fact that you can just find that burning area at random before the Roxy fight is so funny. Completely inexplicable.
I think it would be awesome if the end game for Roxy was a literal chase through Roxy Raceway (you as Gregory in the kart, outrunning Roxy who perhaps literally destroys her raceway in chase which could easily lead to the fall with Gregory and Roxy falling into the pit)
I think I already said this but:
It still feels Incredibly weird that the animatronics in security breach are fully sentient. So isn't breaking them basically murder.
I kinda wish there was a way to save them from Afton's control
Please make an update to this. Roxy is my fav character thanks to ruin
Not gonna lie, if they could have given Roxy a more big role then just an enemy, like for example being another member of the team and help Freddy and Gregory, then I'm pretty sure she would be great
Ooh new video. I loved you talking about characters in single videos, we can focus on the best and...not so best aspects of their characters
I love how you believed that Roxy might not have been in Ruin at all, yet she was one of the most relevant animatronics in the game.
The music for Roxy's shattering is so amazing 14:00

*Laughs in pivotal character*
Super awesome video. I really enjoyed Roxy as a character.
17:42 a complete story arc. I wish the entirety of Security Breach’s story was also complete like Roxy’s lol.
I know this is hindsight, but ruin shows her true personality when she isn't controlled by a virus and hellbent on revenge. The conversation she has with cassie at the end and the implied fact that she went out of her way to protect cassie from the mimic despite cassie shuting her down, tells us that Roxy is not as egotistical as we thought she was.
I think it's funny that I was actually looking at Roxy's wiki page a few hours ago and now you made a video about Roxy xD
(+I might ask something later depends if you mention it or not lol)
(Ok you mentioned it xD (it was the burned endo))
One of the most notable things about Roxanne that plays into her pride is that when the animatronics slowly deteriorate over the night Roxanne's hair always stays clean due to her keeping it up to shape, but when she's ruined and without her eyes her hair that had been glowing white the entire game up until that point becomes ragged, messy, and dirty since she's no longer able to see.
yeah it's impressive that they actually made animatronics with actual hair
no, more like a glorious mane
i imagine shells to be out of plastic or some mix of plastic and polymers
after all their feet are made out of the same thing and they don't break or fall apart
but roxy's hair? that's not plastic
i kinda would expect it to be... one mold that simply pretends to be hair because nobody would be looking at her up close as mechanic does
matter of fact this crap has so many bones i can easily imagine her just sitting and brushing her hair
sure it might as well be few wigs put together and part of roxy's subroutines is brushing it 20 times a day but it's stylized
it's kept like that not "build" like that
all this thinking and theories and it's just a bunch of pixels made to look one specific way
interesting isn't it?
Well, it's actually very obvious that she has a greed to succeed and wants to be the best, but that doesn't quite stop her from being a good character! She created a fandom!
"She might come back in Ruin, but I kinda doubt it"
Now with the knowledge we have...
I like how you thought she wouldn't come became but she is significant in Ruin
I'm glad more people are starting to understand how great Roxy is, a lot of people think her personality ends at the whole "I'm the best" mentality when that is not the case AT ALL
Side note, she did not replace foxy, he was never part of the band, pirates cove has yet to be added to the pizzaplex during SB hence the advertisements for it everywhere yet their being no foxy in the building yet
"She managed to leave quite the impression"

Thank you kindly! I won't. ^_^
Friend: "Why are you so obsessed with Roxanne?"
Me: "Come on. You know why."
I can agree that a person with low self-esteem might go narcissist when it is too much to handle. It is sad, it is tough.
No way!! 13 minutes ago!?! This is probably one of the earliest I've been to *any* video
But thats just my thoughts on it
"One might say she FACED her failure"-Withered Bonnie probably
