- The crispy chicken sandwich war has a new opponent. McDonald's is back in the game with their new take on fried chicken breast on a bun, hoping to take a swing at Popeyes and Chick-fil-A, but is it good enough to rise to the top? I tried the regular version of the sandwich that also can be spicy or deluxe!

Shamrock Shakes are the best. There are many mint milkshakes, but it will always be my favorite. Hope you're well too :)

I’m glad you eat the same way I do... a la car (t) ... chocolate shake for me... next time ask for some of the Big Mac special sauce.
A car is the most real place you can have a meal. No distractions, just A/C, music, and you in your element.
@@LobbyTime the Target parking lot here is a very popular place to dine since Covid. You run into someone and you wonder where you know them from and then you’re like... oh yeah... gray Honda... 😂

After the Popeye's video, I took the plunge seeing as a new Popeye's just opened near work. I was pleasantly surprised. The fish sandwich was really good and I have since been back to eat the chicken sandwich as well and it did beat out Wendy's for me, which was my go to fast food when it came to fast food sandwiches. I haven't had McDonald's in over 5 years now though so I'm not sure I'm quite ready to break that streak, haha.
Wooooo! One of the things that terrifies me most is that I recommend something and it ends up being a let down, so you are making me feel better about Popeyes. The chicken sandwich is of course a winner, but fish is a wild card. I'm not going to lie - don't break the streak for this sandwich. Shamrock Shake, yes. Sandwich, no.
Would definitely have to go with spicy myself.
I don't know why I second guessed myself. I always go spicy when I have the chance and this one I just went off. I just don't know why I think the way I do.
That sandwich looks sad. Definitely needed mayo. You sound try the new BK hand breaded crispy chicken. That rivaled popeye's. Love the videos keep them coming.

I've literally never changed around menu items at McDonald's. Too afraid. That's Burger King's thing.

I don't know. 300 seems pretty slim from 12 pickles, but I've never sliced a pickle to know how many slices you get from each pickle.

This chicken sandwich is really good! Very impressed. Up in NYS I found it to be pretty thick. And, don't try the fish at Wendys.....not good! I'll take a Mcdonalds fish sandwich any time....so good!
You are the first person to say not to try the Wendy's fish! This is getting interesting. I'm hoping I just got a bad piece of chicken, but we'll see for the next time.

Try the mint shake at Arby's it is even better than the Shamrock shake.
I've had it once, but I still think I prefer Shamrock Shake. Part of the fun is the name!

I literally just watched this while eating a Popeye's Spicy Chicken Sandwich and it was ah-mazing as usual.
But, yeah...I was not a fan of this sandwich at McDonald's when I tried it a while back. It was the dryness for me, as well. Like, I wonder what this would taste like with the Big Mac special sauce, even though I never get Big Macs at McDonald's and haven't had one in years. I always order an ersatz McDLT by getting a Quarter Pounder with Cheese and adding lettuce and tomato.
I do love a Big Mac mostly because of the sauce. I think it would actually be really good on this sandwich. But as always Tres, you hit the nail on the head. The patty was too thin and it dried out when it was fried. That chicken needs to be thick so it retains the juice and then also soaks in extra oil. When you're eating unhealthy, you need to go all in. I'm hoping it was just a bad luck scenario for me in this one.

Had this last night, I agree with Craig 100%, this sandwich is boring. I requested the hot mustard with my daughters nuggys I would have used that but they forgot to put it in the bag....Leo Getz was right again "they always screw you at the drive-thru"
Wait wait wait. McDonald's has hot mustard? I think that would be slamming on this sandwich, but I like mustard so who am I to really say.
Definitely try the spicy. And hopefully your chicken is thicker next time.

The spicy version was not great - I hated the sauce and the pickles didn't match the flavor profile. The chicken breading was good, but the meat itself had a weird consistency.
I’ll stick with Popeyes lol

Had a deluxe yesterday. Completely unimpressed. Our chicken was considerably smaller than yours and was flavorless. Popeyes for the win.

Yeah, i had one of these too and it just does not compare to Chick fil A, KFC, or Popeyes
