I respect your thoughts on transmissions. Listing pros and cons throughout your videos.A lot of people go out of their way to bash others for driving auto vs manual. Manuals are more fun but they suck in traffic.
Yeah it's annoying when people are just fanboys for one transmissions. Each has their benefits. I own a manual and a DCT and sometimes I just want an automatic to shift for me. So really depends on what buyers like and need
Awesome car all around! Though I chose manual coming from 13+ years of driving an STi . Mine is 24’ premium heavy metal and I think it’s the best color. I don’t drive much, 2-3k a year, so when I drive I want to have fun. My 2008 STi has only 64k miles on it 😂. Automatic sounds boring to me, but it’s good that Toyota is doing it to get more people behind the wheel of the GR Corolla 👌
Oh cool. Yeah for not a daily, the manual will be great. Lots of fun! Nice to see the auto tho for people who will use it as a commuter car too. Very fun cars!
Definitely not on that level. But for a torque converter auto in a sub $50k car it was really nice! Snappy with the shifters and smooth for normal driving. Very well done for this car
Seriously, (in a non straight voice). $50K for the economy car of the world? Edit in a straight voice, it's not a normal Corolla. It's a Supra with four doors.
Depends on what you are looking for. That's a more luxury focused car at this price point. Great car for sure, but not as exciting overall to drive. So different buyer
This car makes absolutely 0 sense why anyone would get it. It's now 2025. The mustang ecoboost high performance pack has been making 30+ more hp and 50+ more ft/lb tq and it was made over 5 years ago...
The Mustang isn’t a 5 seater and has less storage space, so depends on what you need/want. Everyone will have a different need for their car and there’s a purpose for both, depends on what works for the buyer..horsepower and torque isn’t everything..
@@BrayZap - A compact hatchback with 4 doors and plenty of styling and speed for most daily driving is more fun and more practical than 2 door coupe with no space for rear passengers and less storage area. Bottom line it a totally different thing.
@@BrayZap - a loaded GR Corolla is about $50k or more and the M240 or even a 230i is a better value in my opinion but as you know it’s all subjective and everyone has different tastes. I like Greg BMW Coupes a lot especially the 2 series
Did you watch the driving part on the track? I’d completely disagree with the experience I had with the car. I’d buy it over a Veloster, but glad you enjoy that.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I'm not buying a car for the track. the ratio of road vs track is not even a contention point. of course i love the Veloster, its a rascal compared to the goody-two shoes.
Love this hot hatch. So happy for auto. Finally. JDM for the win
Yeah this was a super cool car to check out! Toyota did a good job!
They never should have made this car with an automatic transmission, IMO. I just picked up my 2025 with a manual. It's amazing.
Surprised how muscular the new front end looks in the heavy metal grey. Can’t say I loved it in the white and red, but grey suits it quite well.
Yeah this car really popped! Normally I'd go red, but this one looked great!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed do you still have your GTR?
Sold that last year for my Lamborghini. Plenty of content on the channel showing all the cars we have
The new front has grown on me. I like the fact they didn’t try to make the shift knob/boot look like a manual like in some other vehicles 😊
Yeah this is a bold looking car! Auto drove great for sure!

Next video why I traded in my Civic Type R for a Corolla GR 😆
haha yeah I'd love one of these at the house for a week to compare back to back. The GR is a great car and does offer quite a lot!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Like I said, incoming video in a few weeks or months lol
Do you find the corolla a better drive? Coz the type R is an awesome car going by the reviews
@@velr50gt Probably not lol. But who know, maybe a year or so this could be next 😎
@@johnnyboy1586 I’d say about even. I like things about both cars. So they each have pros and cons. Hopefully I can do some back to back comparisons
Is it a good value at $50k??
It's definitely a great option, just depends on what you want and are willing to spend. Certainly something to consider!
Yes
Which color do u think looks the best?
Really like the red available!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed does the red pop more than the gray?
This actually popped more than I expected. But the red really pops in the sun!
Heavy metal is the best!

@@BrosFOURRSpeed yea pdk is very good and intuitive.
For sure! This was a great automatic overall tho
What's the max top speed? I don't want it limited to 114 mph like my Civic.
Should be 143 MPH

It's a very fun hot hatch! Just so happens to get good mpg as well! Amazing little car!
Mustang GT or this?
Depends if you need the functional back doors. I'm not a mustang fan, so I'd go with the Corolla.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed - I daily the new Camry but also enjoy my ‘23 Miata RF GT …in red!

gay. I want a stick in my hand
