Another great reaction. Love it. A little background. All 4 had careers before ABBA. Agnetha was a child singing prodigy very famous on Swedish TV. Bjorn and Benny both were in other bands then decided to colaberate together. Bjorn shortly after met Agnetha and they were married in I believe 71. Frida started singing with jazz bands at 14. After divorcing her first husband she moved to Stockholm where she met Benny. She already had 2 children at the time of this video They quickly became a couple and moved in together later marrying too.The 4 were 2 couples the men trying to be singers too. They very quickly realized the girls had the voices lol. The men were the musicians and song writers. The rest is history. Maybe try their song from the last record from last year called I still have faith in you and don't shut me down. Their voices are still great. Take care

The thing I love most about these ladies is that they are unique and real, not just beautiful. No endless filters and auto tune, just talent and charisma and hard work. They’re gorgeous, gifted women. These reactions make my day🤗

They were basically a coincidental supergroup. Agneta was a singer/songwriter who had her first major hit in Sweden at age 17. Frida was a jazz singer who won a national competition on TV and then performed along several wellknown artists. Björn was the lead singer for a skiffle group, the Hootenanny Singers, that had a long string of Swedish hits and a handful in Europe. Benny was playing keyboards in Sweden’s most popular group in the 60’s, the Hep Stars. The Hootenanny Singers and the Hep Stars often played the same venues, so Björn and Benny kept running into eachother and became friends. They both wrote songs for their respective groups and figured maybe they should try to write some songs together. Meanwhile Björn had met Agneta as they appeared on the same TV show, and they became a couple. Benny had met Frida in a similar way, so when Björn and Benny hung out, their girlfriends tugged along. It took a while but eventually they figured out ”hey! We’re all in the music business; maybe we should do something together?” It started kind of awkward with some cabaret style shows, where they called themselves Festfolket, which is a pun. It means ”the party people”, but fästfolket, different spelling, same pronounciation, means ”those who are engaged to eachother”. Anyway, they noticed that the voices of the girls blended really well, and once they decided to become a pop group instead and came up with a new name, things started to fall in place, and the rest is history.

It's incredible, thinking about this for a moment and especially for people so much in the public eye like ABBA, that we as a generation have access to an art form of moving pictures that aren't grainy, tinted or blurred of ourselves and our loved ones and so sharp in definition that it brings to life our pasts. This is an extraordinary bridge to the present and has so much potency. Sometimes for pain and sorrow and loss. Other times though for recalling, with attendant clarity, times of great happiness and joy. Just like this one. Great reaction my friend.

If you are in the mood to watch ABBA jamming with other 70s stars, please check out Olivia Newton-John special with ABBA and Andy Gibb (brother of Bee,Gees). I was thinking
You just did the first television presentation of the future ABBA
with their first song recorded in English
Just a short time later Agnetha became pregnant with her first child with Björn.
ABBA would not perform again until Melodiefestivalen 1973
(with Agnetha in her eighth month of pregnancy),
but there are only photographs and audio
    The next ABBA television presentation
is with a friend of Frida's replacing Agnetha, in her postpartum time
and when Agnetha returns, they travel to Denmark in 1973 and make two videos:
"Ring Ring" (which you already did in the official video)
and "Love isn't easy" (but is sure is hard enough)
and this is what I propose for a next reaction
Here I leave the link, it is very nice to see them here so young
    ua-cam.com/video/YloY5vzw_oE/v-deo.html
After this, the presentations of ABBA will come with "Waterloo" in 1974,
    and everything will be different,
the worldwide insertion of ABBA will become a reality and constant

  • @eduardooscar309

got to see your video, and doin my specialy request! Excellent!
You are reacting to the first song in english recorded by ABBA. Congratulations!
Björn and Benny met in 1966
and eventually they left their own bands and started composing together,
    and became a duo.
The girls Agnetha and Frida, who were solo singers, were met in 1969
The four of them begin to collaborate with each other on their recordings,
they do some shows together and Agnetha a tour with Björn and Benny in 1971
    the opportunity is given
and they all four recording this song in March 29, 1972, called theirself:
"Björn & Benny, Agnetha & Frida"
and it is really good, simple in its music, all four sing it very well
and in the video you can see them very happy and smiling
This is the First TV perfomance together, April 30, 1972
Agnetha in particular is very different from what she will be later,
her beauty will mature in just two more years, just for Waterloo in Eurovision
4:08 at the time of the TV perfomance,
the ages of each other is shows in the video in that order
    Björn 27 ; Frida 26 ; Benny 25 ; Agnetha 22
"People need love" has the characteristics of
The Boys singing one verse and The Girls answering the next
    So they did several songs,
until the voices of Agnetha and Frida prevailed
and Björn and Benny dedicated themselves
to composing, accompanying in choirs and producing.
See you soon in another video
(I leave my suggestion in a separate comment)
GOD bless you and stay safe
    Best regards from
    Buenos Aires, Argentina
    South America

For their whole story you should read the book "Bright Lights, Dark Shadows: The real story of ABBA" from Carl Magnus Palm. It's the story from all four members from birth to the middle of the 90's if I remember correctly (I don't think that I have the newest edition). The book has about 600 pages, so you will have a lot to read. 😊

🙂Yes, this was officially ABBA's first single in English. Their first recording with all four members (Agnetha, Björn, Benny & Ann-Frid), was 2 years earlier in 1970, and it was in Swedish , "Hej Gamle Man".

There's a few performances from 1973, including a couple televised performances of this song that Agnetha was absent from, that was because she'd just given birth to her daughter.
If you haven't yet, please check out "Crazy World". It has Bjorn singing lead, and the first verse or two makes you think that it's a song about one partner cheating on the other but the song's story has a happy ending.
