- This is a build of the 2016 Merit International release of the IJN Mikasa-1905 in 1/200 (Kit # 62004). Detail sets used are the Pontos Models Detail Set 23008F1, which is supplemented with the MK1 Design Deluxe Detail Set MD-20017. This is my 1st plastic ship so a lot of the techniques shown are being done for the first time.
As I am using the details sets, the hull requires some work in preparation for these details and this is done before gluing the hull together for ease of access and manoeuvrability. There are a number of mouldings that need removing and work done to the portholes.

Very enjoyable and good company as i convert 18mm napoleonic cavalry for a client . All the best . Regards Gav.
Thanks
Just my 2p... When I drill the excessively oval holes I drill them over size, fill with plastic rod and then redrill the correct size perpendicular to the surface.
Hi Nigel, thanks for watching and commenting. Great tip! due to my inexperiance I think I was afraid of losing the hole centre postion so went with sprue-goo after drilling. Cheers
Корпус огромный. Легко радиоаппаратура любая поместится.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't know much about RC but you're right it does look like it should be easy enough to make it so.
Хорошая сборка👍
Thank you for the nice comment, much appreciated.
Great work! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for showing the build. I plan to use sellotape to hold the templates. Is there any reason you don’t use the motor drill for your drilling?
Thanks for commenting. Sellotape would be more convenient. I didn't use a powered rotary drill as even the lowest speed is to fast for drilling plastic as it melts and sticks to the drill bit.
