FANTASTIC! Very very well made too... The more years pass, the more important this will become!
Thank you for this very nice comment, it is appreciated.
As you say, it is all on film now, and in a few years time (in the future), it hopefully should be interesting to watch.
I was born in that hospital in 1956.... lived in Australia since 1968... very nice to see my old town
Lovely! Thank. You!,
Thank you, it was a spur of the moment thought, and pleased I did at the time now.
Always interesting to look back and see the changes. I just wish I'd had a video camera when I was younger to capture a disappearing world of the 60's and 70's. It's great that there is so much on UA-cam where folk recorded the past for future generations.
+Brian Seaman : Well put Brian, and I agree with every word you have said. Sadly the changes are not always for the better, and this is the case for Mexborough. I regret not doing this just a few years earlier, but then I have some footage to be thankful for.
Change in this modern world is unfortunately inevitable; nonetheless our memories will always be there and along with videos like yours future generations will be able to look back. I enjoyed the video mate and thanks for the share.
+André Walter : Of course you are absolutely right, so as things change, it is well worth recording before they do. As always, thank you for your comment.
How much our world has changed in that short amount of time,Woolworth was a company I thought would never disappear from the high street .
I have old footage of Dawlish high street when Woolworth and somerfield had the prime spots in the town...wonder what the next 9 years will bring ? ! Cheers,Andy
+andybyrne50 : I think 99% of the people thought Woolworths would be here forever, and I was one of them....what a shock when they closed down. The only take-away in my day (late 50's/60's), was the fish & chip shop, now Mexborough is full of them. Pleased you managed to film Dawlish when you did, I should imagine it is a lot different now.
Nice to be able to look back , and see the changes
+David Howarth : Cheers David, the only thing is the changes are not all that great. At one time Mexborough was a bustling, busy town....but sadly not any more.
i mean i grew up around her and i was 7 at the time and i spent most of this viedo just smiling remebering going down here with my dad on a weekend and it is so strange to see it compared to now. only thing that hasnt really chaged is the superdrug lol
Omg I've been to all these places
Hello Dave Cooper. I like to have looked at, I liked!
+Werner Sievers : Well thank you for watching, and pleased that you liked the film....cheers.
A future classic? Filmed in a lovely "Early 60's 8mm cine" style... endearing little snippets of times gone by.
And a Woolworths Dave!!! Great video of a place I have not been to. What was the music please? Cheers, Bob
+trainmanbob : Thank you for the comment Bob, and the music is royalty free AKM music "Tranquil Rhythms" cd.

I live in mexbourough
Mexborough is Mexborough, it's not exactly a tourist place and never will be. Its basic and boring
Its amazing how amazing how much this place has changed in 15 years! In 2007 I was 13. So surreal how things change so quickly.
Not always for the better I'm afraid.
Thank you for your comment.
