Always interesting to look back and see the changes. I just wish I'd had a video camera when I was younger to capture a disappearing world of the 60's and 70's. It's great that there is so much on UA-cam where folk recorded the past for future generations.

Change in this modern world is unfortunately inevitable; nonetheless our memories will always be there and along with videos like yours future generations will be able to look back. I enjoyed the video mate and thanks for the share.

How much our world has changed in that short amount of time,Woolworth was a company I thought would never disappear from the high street . I have old footage of Dawlish high street when Woolworth and somerfield had the prime spots in the town...wonder what the next 9 years will bring ? ! Cheers,Andy
+andybyrne50 : I think 99% of the people thought Woolworths would be here forever, and I was one of them....what a shock when they closed down. The only take-away in my day (late 50's/60's), was the fish & chip shop, now Mexborough is full of them. Pleased you managed to film Dawlish when you did, I should imagine it is a lot different now.
+David Howarth : Cheers David, the only thing is the changes are not all that great. At one time Mexborough was a bustling, busy town....but sadly not any more.
i mean i grew up around her and i was 7 at the time and i spent most of this viedo just smiling remebering going down here with my dad on a weekend and it is so strange to see it compared to now. only thing that hasnt really chaged is the superdrug lol

Its amazing how amazing how much this place has changed in 15 years! In 2007 I was 13. So surreal how things change so quickly.

Mexborough is Mexborough, it's not exactly a tourist place and never will be. Its basic and boring
