      Agreed. This is BY FAR the funniest thing he's ever said...I can hear the phone call before they go out...."Mikey boy what's going on?! ......MIKE: Not too much just finished dinner...."Hey I was thinking maybe we could hit up the pub for a bit and then go out and do some murdering together. MIKE: Huh....well me and the misses were about to watch The Bachelor but you know what? That sounds like more fun. Count me in!

    I'am so glad that Myra Hindley
    never got to see the light of day again, what she and her partner did was just absolutely
    horrendous, and fully deserved
    to remain behind bars for the
    rest of their lives, people who
    torture and murder children
    do not deserve freedom.
    Keith's family can at least take some small comfort in knowing that Myra remained behind bars until her death in 2002. RIP to all the victims🙏

    The odds of being a killer and hooking up with someone that's not only cool with it, but willing to help you is crazy. But less unusual than i imagined before binging true crime every night.

      For me, it helps to understand the common responses of abuse victims.
      Abuse victims either try to break the cycle, they remain complicit and enable abuse, or they become abusers.
      Those who enable abuse or become abusers probably believe that you are either an abuser or abused in life. They don't believe or understand that there is life outside the toxic cycle of abuse.
      So if you think life is either abusers or abuse victims and you don't want to be a victim, you side with the abusers.
      Moira saw her father abuse her mother. She didn't want to be her mother. So she sided with an abuser.

    • @WobblesandBean
      @WobblesandBean 22 дні тому +4

      If Myra had never met Ian, she never would have done this. Ian was abusive, and there's no doubt in my mind that he had a deep, deep level of control over Myra. I know that isn't an excuse, it's just tragic that she ever became tangled up with him in the first place.

    ‘Morning, Monday Monsterers! Despite absorbing more knowledge about the Moors murders than I’m comfortable with over the decades, just by being British and the countless news reports I’ve been exposed to during my lifetime, I’m ALWAYS here for Jiles’ take on the case!
    I found out more information I was previously unaware of in this video, particularly about the childhoods of this pair, and in a much more succinct fashion than another channel’s 1 hour 22 minute documentary.

    • @kerrylevey8746
      @kerrylevey8746 19 днів тому +2

      I so agree with you! 💯
      I've watched many documentaries about this pair of monsters that I initially thought I'd give this one a miss.
      Then I thought: 'this is Jiles' take on the Moors Murders ... it's bound to have more info than anything I've seen before!'
      And, of course, Jiles' version is THE most concise and informative doco I've ever seen!
      Just as you pointed out, Jiles included childhood facts about Ian & Myra that I wasn't aware of --- especially about Brady. I knew he was into animal torture ... let's face it, most serial killers ARE ... but I didn't know that he had such a criminal background!
      Anyway, thx for your comment!
      Cheers 🍻

His sister was talking to a couple in a car who drove off when he approached. Keith’s poor mother wrote to these beasts repeatedly, begging to know where he was buried so she could lay him to rest in her lifetime. I am all for rehabilitation and second chances, and I know it sounds inhumane, but I wish Myra was never allowed to access anything but a bucket to shit in in prison. Her gaining an education, her being granted solace within a church congregation, books to read, even toilet paper. She squandered her second chance in the months between the first and second murder. And glad they force fed that pig when he so desperately wanted put out of his misery. Now I’m off the o watch something to cheer me up! 😂 excellent doc again, Monsters! X

It’s unlikely that Ian would’ve been able to obtain as many victims if it weren’t for her. Additionally, she’s never truly taken responsibility and said she was basically brainwashed by him. Ian is absolute garbage but he never tried to blame the murders on anyone else.

    Ian Brady tried to be transfered to a scottish prison as the law is different to english law. Under scottish law he would not have been tube fed. He was denied the transfer. There was also a few minutes of the 16 min tape released that made it clear Myra Hindley was far more involved than she made out however I was told this as I couldn't deal with listening to it myself.

  • @notpub
    @notpub 19 днів тому +2

    I remember well the Myra Hindley / Ian Brady case - she was dubbed by the press as the 'Anti-Mother' - which was the same name of a song of diatribe dissonance by hardcore crust punk 1970s band Crass - and was also the subject of controversy due to a song by 1980s Britpop indie cult faves The Smiths, called 'Suffer Little Children.' What outraged many, in addition to the horror of crimes, was that the Death Penalty was suspended in 1965 and abolished in 1969 in the UK. While the majority of murders were committed prior to the suspension (which, in itself, was supported and contested throughout the UK at the time), these two monsters were arrested AFTER the suspension in 1965, and thus, following their trials, were given life sentences. The majority of the populace at the time were outraged - believing that if anyone deserved the death penalty, it was these two!! As Jiles stated, there is perhaps no greater cultural impact of collective sorrow and disgust in the UK - other than possibly the heinous folie à deux serial killings of Fred and Rose West of Gloucester- committed in the 1970s through the 1980s. They, too, were given life sentences (though Coward Filth Monster Fred unalived himself while incarcerated), and Rose will never see freedom. Some serious depravity beyond understanding. Thus is why some 30 years later, the UK gets riled up by that Marcus Harvey artpiece -- they are deep wounds for all.😢

    David Smith and Maureen Hindley were photographed by the press driving away from the court in their car. Raymond Pettibon drew the picture later on, and Sonic Youth used it as the album cover for "Goo".

    I think you can hit a cool mill or 925k by the end of the year 😊. I also recommend Somewhere Sinister, it’s nice for when I want to take a true crime break and the research is impeccable when it comes to cultures and historical context.

    After these two were arrested I believe no one in England named their child Myra or Ian.

      Reminds me of The Giver no one can be named Rosemary bc of how much pain she was in she did the dishonorable thing in the community and purposely offed herself 😢 so no one is allowed to be named Rosemary anymore

    Myra took herself to the hospital while in labor on a bus and wanted the courts to believe she was controlled by Ian so much to become a serial killer?! Okay Myra!!

    My parents were both children when these two were out committing their atrocities. The news coverage must have really stuck with them as one of the first widely-publicised cases of child murder in the UK. I think it shocked and terrified a lot of children and their parents, and when those children went on to become adults with kids of their own, sparked "stranger danger" fears (even though Brady and Hindley knew some of their victims.)

    kinda random but is anyone else genuinely surprised that his mother didn't leave her son for a boyfriend? Even when the son didn't seem to even want her around. Which, ironically was probably a blessing in disguise. ANDher baby's father had died during the pregnancy.?! Again, random but I genuinely feel bad for her

      The high school I attended had pictures of the past graduating classes on the walls and the further back you went, the older the students looked. The pictures from the 50s looked like the students were in their 40s.
