Crazy how just building bison steaks/infusions gives that character literally everything it needs with his passive. Turning the worst items into the best for him.
At first i was like, so this stone can attack laser like Fiend, shoot rock and bonk enemy. This is boring, but then i realized he scale by hp which new and fun to play
My favorite bug was my first run of the DLC. I was playing Seeker and I used her shift ability to flew into a group of enemies and went straight through the floor and when I respawned back on the level I was standing on top of a blazing Lemurian and died instantly.
Turned my FPS down to 30 to catch a quick break and then realized if you go to a new stage while still on 30 FPS the amount of loot that spawns on the stage is literally tied to FPS so you’ll get like half as many chests, if even that much. Literally everything is tied to FPS.
False Son's spikes are actually kind of amazing. You get more of them if you have an elevated max HP, and EACH individual spike applies a stacking 10% damage vulnerability debuff. Throw 4 spikes onto an enemy, do 40% more damage to them THEN laser them. It makes a huge difference on bosses, and it's even stronger in coop for obvious reasons.
@@xyrkzes idk, i kinda like the combo set up kind of gameplay loop. they even made it fire faster when you have more stacks remaining so as to not slow you down when you dump them
I really like how stacking HP on the False Son really makes him offensively and defensively better too. Getting what's funtionally free Backup Mags and Lysate Cells( at least for alt special) for items like Bison Steak and Infusion is just so cool, not to mention the passive stats you gain based on how many spikes you have/are on CD. for every stocked spike, you get bonus armor and Attack Speed, and every spike you don't have gives Move Speed and Health Regeneration. Cleansing pool stonks btw, pearls gonna do wonders for you, and irradiant pearls are probably the best item period for False Son. Edit: I've also noticed a few neat interactions, like how you can sprint with a charged slam so you can use things like Ruckler and Quails to position it the way you want, or like how the utility distance scales with Move Speed so emptying like 15 spikes before dashing can get you places. And if I had one complaint about him, it's how some of the animations are. I feel like a little clunkiness in a character like False Son who's a construct is, but it's a bit much rn. Not to mention the M1 VFX feels like it's a mile away from your swings
Also like Rap, tougher times, razorwire, all healing, all invincibility methods. I actually kinda like warped echo design in giving you a second chance for a brief moment, if only it wasn't horribly bugged
Yah too bad if you have higher fps the damage delay is shorter so you can't get the med kit heal before it triggers lmao, unless the medkit is also like that which I didn't think about
I thought it was meant to be a really good item for Rex. He's got a bunch of healing built into his kit, so having damage come in lots of smaller bursts instead of one big chunk would be easier to heal through
Unironically, my favourite thing that came out of this dlc/update is ror2 youtubers just collabing. Like the podcast type thing, where you, woolie, grandpa, dan and gamehost(I think) just talked, now you doing a run with mr. senior. That's cool. I just wish the dlc/update were actually good :(
9:29 they actually made it so that if you turn the dlcs off, you can still play the survivors from those dlcs, which is actually a really really great change
I didn't know I was alone in thinking the unstable transmitter's logbook is kinda fun. It's two people trying to get the other person to touch an "unstable", weird looking transmitter because they don't want to themselves, Race was just reading it incorrectly at 40:10. imo I was just looking through the new entries and after seeing a lot with just walls of text, it was funny to just see two lines of dialogue.
@@RacesVideosoh if it’s about the lack of end quotes for the first line, then yeah that is lazy. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t even have a proof reader for these lol
Everyone says that False son is the worst survivor added, but i cant agree with this at all. (Gameplay exclusicely, he does feel unpolished tho) False son is a well designed character, that finds his place among the cast of survivors. His passive is what makes his kit, giving him a tool that allows him to become powerful in a way only he can. Every character gets powerful in very similar ways. Besides Railgunner, I cant think of a character that does not value the same items as the rest of the cast. False son builds power through his passive as equally as through items. Growth as a mechanic is one of the most interesting features that any of the cast gets. His abilites aswell have that feel of good design philosophy, even if they lack polish. His primary, being a melee pits him at odds with the other melee survivors, but its uniquely different to one like Loaders because it has an alternative fire, whivh fills a gap in his kit of being a good band proc. His secondary, the spikes, is how he accesses his passive skill. Personally i wish his spikes did nit have a weaken effect, but instead applied a different debuff, but tgats just a balence opinion that could be filed under the broad term of polish. His specials both feel fine for his kit. Being that he lacks range, his first special is excellent at dealing with fliers, while the other one is more of a boss melter, i cant speak for the second being the best boss melter, but the default special certainly earns its place as an amazing tool against large crowds of hard to hit targets. His utility is my least favourite part of his kit. You could make any number or movement abilites, and have them work here. Im not impressed by what we have, but i really dont need to be, it does the job of dodging and movement, without any fancy tricks. I just sort of wish it had a feature that made it unique, like giving you spikes back or granting a short buff to your growth stats after use, idk. I imagine I'm in the minority tho. Most people like seeker, while i think she fundamentally didnt fit into the game's design, and felt like she was made for a different game. (Tinfoil hat, she was designed when histile worlds still existed, and her features were supposed to be good on that game, but didnt turn out the best in the main game)
Honestly just invert the stats of his passive so armour and attack speed is when your spikes are empty instead of full and reduce the cooldown of his dash by 2 seconds and he'd feel 10x better
No one is saying false son is the worst survivor added lmao. You ranted for nothing tbh. He's good but 1) he needs more emphasis on melee and 2) all of his moves are super unsatisfying to use, except for slam.
I didn’t like False Son at first but once I learned about his synergy with bison steak & STONE FLUX PALDRON of all things he became amazing. If intentional, making a character that works best with items every other character doesn’t want is honestly genius. Now CHEF on the other hand needs a lot of tweaking imo. Ironically his kit’s power feels very undercooked
I think he lacks the change in model when he has spikes, because when he has spikes (4 for example) he gets extra armour and atk speed, and when you shoot them you get faster and get regen, so i think smoother animations and model change could help him Spikes thing is a passive btw
I feel like the m2 should always fire at whatever rate it would whenever all of them are unspent, having the rate of fire get slower as you shoot them feels so damn weird.
He feels way too awkward. So he's a small-long range (?) survivor? You basically never use his primary. What's the point of making a melee survivor where half of his abilities are long range?
@@raven75257 You never use his primary yeah but I use his hold primary + secondary a lot which clears out everything near you while activating bands and you dont lose a lot of mobility while charging up either since you can still sprint, and with enough growth or attack speed the charge up is so much quicker that you can spam it if you ever want to just quickly kill an enemy in the land or an aerial enemy close to the ground It seems like his primary is just used to finish off enemies if you dont want to expend spikes or charge the laser
17:53 that has been implemented on consoles since the last update. The little characters running when you load into the game has also been on console since the last update. Also (26:16) the enemies in walls has been a bug for consoles since last update.
The new green portal stages are even cooler when you realize you're traveling up the statue of Providence you see in the boss stage. You can see Prime Meridian from the Treeborn Colony when you look up, and vice versa. As you guys said, there was some intention of quality in this DLC ruined by the other issues.
An easy way to buff lunar spikes. Make it work similarly to thermal harpoons in the way that when you hold it for like a third of a second, it starts to stack up the lunar spikes so you shoot them out all at once.
I think my favorite bug I've seen is the ridiculous amount of knockback Runic Lens does. That or a time a wandering vagrant spawned as a teleporter boss, then died instantly
i do like some of the new items. obviously sale star, but i like prayer beads, chance doll, and all of the reds except war bonds as well. warped echo and expansion are fine items too i think, not super good but theyre interesting
I actually think prayer beads (I can't test because I refunded) are cool item design. There are so many items in this game that are just insta scrap, prayer beads, chance doll actually do things while in your inventory and affect the game in a unique way.
Sale star feels like shipping request form to me. I mean opening a big chest with a good amount of sale stars can almost guarantee a red and even if it doesn’t it still gives you five items
I think people are definitely being more critical of this dlc bc gearbox made it and bc of all the bugs (everyone likes to forget that sotv was at least partially made by gearbox). The only dlc items I don't like are antlers and knock back fin. Everything else ranges from good to ok, it is annoying that we didn't get any more mobility or crit items though.
I would just like to comment that is not why I’m being critical of it. I’m not a gearbox hater, I just don’t think it’s very good for the reasons I’ve said already. I was also and have always been critical of sotv as well, making the game too easy, adding a horrible boss, and slipping up on simulacrum being fun. I just think generally speaking their item and character design in sotv was better and better feeling
False son is my favorite survivor from this dlc, i just love the laser and i think the spikes are fun and really good for boss melting. You can dump your spikes into the boss and then do your laser with the debuff on the boss and they just die. Also, if you get a good amount of growth you can a ton of enemies with just one laser.
I think the false son spikes are good, ignoring the passive stats each one gives a debuff that slows but more importantly makes enemies take 10% more damage per spike hit from all sources, I think this makes them good for single target damage boosting especially if you have a lot of spikes from backup mags/growth scaling
The thing about the DLC is whole problem just stems from bugs and possibly the donkey executives at GearBox, the content is actually good, just unpolished and unfinished as a result of said donkeys meddling with the release dates and causing it to be rushed, i'm 99% sure the devs would've solved most of the issues in the DLC with enough time and testing (Excepting Twisted elites WTF they were even thinking with such a fundamentally flawed concept)
Most of the ideas aren't necessarily bad, but definitely undertuned. Seriously antler needs like 100% damage reflect and +5 armour per stack if they want that concept to work lol
There's still a couple issues like knockback fin being ridiculously useless and longstanding solitude being so bad it throws runs for you and your teammates Other than that though it's basically all bugs and I would be having a blast if it weren't for multiple softlocks (I haven't seen twisted elites yet but they seem crazy, even mithrix is banned from taking razorwire and these guys can just appear anywhere and have the same effect)
@@Sockpuppet_Salesmanwhy? They literally made the game worse and sometimes unplayable, depending on the fps. This is a new team assigned by gearbox, and they don't know how their game works. Just tie everything to fps and make three characters that are worse than some modded ones. And new items are showing how they have no idea of what will be balanced. Stacking damage while fighting, 15% to drop item from elites, 10% reflected damage. Of course, the execs are to blame for decisions, but you cant just blindly put your trust into a team, that understands the core of the gameplay less than the players. Also, day 1 prices situation. Do not be faithful, refund the game and see if they make a patch that will fix all of the problems. Until that its better to rollback and play starstorm.
I hate this new cope that the completely unnecessary changes made by incompetend devs are somehow not the devs fault? Do you honestly think there was an exec sitting with a whip on top of the dev team shouting "TIE EVERYTHING TO FRAMERATE!!! DESIGN POORLY THOUGHT OUT ITEMS WITH NO SYNERGY!!! MAKE CHEF DOGSHIT FOR NO REASON!!!!! MESS WITH THE MOD API! MWHAHAH". At some point the cope has to stop, they are simply shit at programming and don't know wtf they're doing
Personally, I don't think unifying the codebase was a mistake. Improperly unifying the codebase was a mistake. Not allowing the Devs to iron out the bugs and do proper closed-door testing BEFORE release was a mistake. Not addressing the massive failure to do so in a prompt manner was a mistake. 2K needs to step up to snuff quick because the game and their reputation won't live much longer if they don't.
Unifying the codebase by taking what didn't work and merging it into what did work was a mistake. If you want to refactor, that's okay, but expect it to cost a lot of money and dev time for a low return on investment. In the best case scenario, nothing changes on your primary platform; in this case, they effectively intentionally sabotaged their own primary product.
Hey just to clarify, if anyone is struggling, i think twisted elites dont hurt you if you hurt them sepecifically, but will hurt you if you shoot anything within their radius. Still impossible to do anything about if you have AOE but focusing them as they spawn is the best way I found to not get instant killed. whenever i hear you guys talk aboout it you say shooting the twisted itself hurts you, but as far as i know it doesn't. Given how buggy everything is though im not even too sure anymore lol.
@@raven75257 Maybe only giving the chance of dropping a boss item from the mere act of taking out a boss monster would work. That's a 20% chance (plus whatever percentage on top if you get more conches) of giving out a boss item for every single one of those killed plus it makes multiple teleporter boss spawns a cool way to get even higher chances of a boss item. It's already a strong advantage worthy of a red item in itself and even loopers will love it since they face considerably more of those things than the E8 nerds.
@@plswhy That's still too strong. It should either be 5% or less. On loops it doesn't matter, because you get so strong, you don't even bother getting more items because at that point you don't get much benefit
It doesn't triple the items you get per stage, it lets you get infinite items per stage. Just like sacrifice if you want to win the best thing to do is sit on the stage you found it on for an actual hour farming until you're unkillable. Why scale the enemies by moving to a new stage? Of course that's really unfun which is why it's terrible, items shouldn't encourage players to do boring things if they want to improve their chances of winning The only way to balance it would be to cap the items you can get per stage
0:50 and 21:00, his attacks do actually serve purpose (once you stop abusing his ult bug) M1 - mostly useless M1+M2 - rly good aoe smash that does high damage (and if possible, i think its range and maybe damage scales with height from which you do it) M2 - Heavily weakening attack that lets you do a ton of damage on individual targets (and it also boosts damage of other players to that enemy) which also grants you big buffs to attack speed and armor if you dont spend them, or movement speed and health regen if you spend them (the health regen is big), it also scales with items that boost your health like bison steaks, titanic knurl and infusion so you get more which means you also get more buffs. It also gives more spikes through backup magazine, which again translates to more buffs and more weakening. Shift - Mobility primarily R - Huge damage laser which duration of also scales with growth (unless you are just bug abusing like in this video, bruh) All the attacks serve a purpose except normal m1 (unless you are at such high attack speed that your smash no longer works, or you just want to throw shurikens) I personally love the entirety of the False Son survivor (if they can polish him in terms of animations and fixing bugs), probably my new main. Just underwhelming how low quality he is compared to others. His normal m1 also is kinda quite useless. Your smash already does big dmg and is aoe. And i didnt get a good chance to test his smash from air but from what i heard the higher you are the more aoe range the smash will have which could potentially cover the whole map (again i've only heard that part, so i cant confirm) Edit: also about warped echo, you can pair it with medkit to heal after 2s before you take that other half of dmg which comes after 3s, or you can find ways to get more hp, or shield, or barrier to then be able to tank that other half of dmg without worry.
@@skiburc2252 because thats bug abusing and isnt permanent If you wanna look at false son like this, then say that to all the loader mains: 'why are you crying your character is so bugged/broken? Just crank your fps up and 1 shot anything you want!' Its just an unhealthy way to look at the character. There is a lot more to him than just 'laser 24/7'
@Raviness. Well unfortunately it's hard to see what else there is to him when he looks and plays like he does, also the bugs in this update abuse me more than I do them
@@skiburc2252 i did already explain all that there is to him Just his normal m1 is useless usually The charge time of the slam and his ult charge time aswell as i think rate of fire of the ult all are scaled with attack speed, which means more spikes = better performance at these parts, and if you spend them instead you get monster health regen in turn Edit: and yeah, his presentation animation wise is lacking, i wish he was more polished
The new lunar is actually much better than it seems (Still not like, shaped glass or even Defiant Gouge good, but not TERRIBLE) because the money gets turned INTO xp, and that is then shared across multiplayer. I had a friend using it and we were in like, stage 7-8 Vields and were leveling up like it was stage 1. I've never seen a level above like, 38 before and we went into late 50s
i think the item has a very build specifc niche, i agree with you saying its better than it seems. stacking brittle crown and having even just one stack of the item makes you pop several levels just from one tanky enemy. its pretty fun. HOWEVER, once you hit around level 90 you kinda get softlocked out of chests because of the sheer amount of exp you need, and in turn, the item makes it reaallly hard to loop and still feel strong.
for the chests now falling off the map, im swear also scrappers now do a random spiral pattern which means even if its placed in a good spot, if its too close to the edge it might just choose to scrap in the wrong direction sometimes.
i think the core gameplay and mechanics of the false son are super fun but man he really needs some polish. hopefully after all the bugs are sorted gearbox does a pass on him and the other new ones to bring them up to par with the rest of the cast
I actually have had 1 run with a teleporter in the closed crate in Rallypoint Delta pre-DLC vanilla RoR2. Out of 600 hours of runs, including several hour long looping runs, it has only happened with me once. It is a real bug, just was an exceptionally rare one as far as I know.
False son is very fun to me. Animation wise I think he’s fine, I mean just look at Bandit and Loader, their animations are clunky as hell but no one ever really complains about them.
@@Lordrockerkiller that's true I do think the fact that these content creators play the game far far more then the average player makes me think there going to be a little nitpicky that being said everyone can agree the bugs suck
@@Lordrockerkiller I do play E8 almost exclusively, but even then False Son isn't necessarily unfun, nor bad (freaking, not even close). Just maybe slightly unpolished, but there's a fine line to thread. The thing's a golem after all. It needs a level of clunkiness.
my favorite thing about knockback fin is that rex, the character known for self damage, is directly hindered by it since it will knock enemies out of your m2
My favorite bug was walking off the side of the stage in verdant roost, and the game just respawned me over the side of the map again, causing me to gain momentum as I fell resulting in my eardrums and eyes being shattered by the terminal velocity I reached for a full minute before it put me back on the stage
3:27 i feel as if Warped Echo is trying to be a second way to keep your watches. If you're going to take a hit that would break all your watches, you only take half of it. Assuming the coding is perfect and there are no bugs causing double damage, your medkit would heal you before you take the other half of the damage, most likely saving your watches. Same with taking lethal damage.
ahh yes I can't wait for the 20hp + 5% of max hp from medkit heal to save my watches when I have a warped echo in my inventory aswell. If only their was an item (elixir) that does that.
@@eamoncarroll7708warped echo is, way better for watchkeeping because it doesn’t go away after 1 use. Elixer is good, but warped echo helps more because it isn’t 1 time use. This doesn’t mean that elixer is bad though
Tbh i thought the thing with Laser of The Father being infinite was intentional. Also, the spikes are good for swapping your specialties. If you're exploring or running away, use them up, and if you're slamming a boss in close range don't use them.
Weird take, but I actually think (a bit of) the chunkiness and slowness of False Son's kit contributes to the feel he is going for. Really the only changes I think he needs is to allow him to m2 while running and to make the damn laser stop bobbing constantly with the slightest bit of movement. (also a way to more quicky shoot out m2s)
@@RacesVideos Honestly fair, I do have other characters to play so I would not be bothered if they made him more accessible to more people. My opinion mostly just comes from the fact that he is the closest thing to HAN-D RoR2 has.
I thought the item that splits you damage into 2 made perfect sense as an item, it gives each hit a chance to be reduced or blocked by teddies, it also works with rex, medkit, loads of stuff. I quite like it as an item
Feel like the knockback item could be tweeked to be more popular by making enemies get a debuff where ground enemies take more damage while in air the whole time, while flying enemies gets the same but only for a set duration. This way it could be a combo item with survivors that have a high dmg ability
once mods started coming back one of the first things I did was download a mod that makes antlers increase move speed and armor instead of the mostly useless reflect might grab the item blacklist mod lol and yeah I've personally been enjoying the update, but I've been telling any friend that's asked to not buy it until things are fixed
I’m pretty sure the triangle log book is two people looking at the star and daring each other to touch it, which I think is funny tbh, but they don’t really make that very obvious
My favorite bug has been when the stage 5 teleporter didn't loop me and sent me to the moon anyway, then after beating Mithrix I still couldn't loop cause the entire area where the tp should've been was just straight up Gone
Favorite glitch that happened to me, was with Seeker. I used Sojurn and got stuck in the floor. My legs were in the ground, and I had to kill enemy’s while being stuck
tbh ive played mostly just multiplayer and we didnt realize our fps got defaulted back to 60 and have had a pretty solid time with minimal bugs/issues. gotta vouch for the dev, playing at 60 fps seems like the best solution until the patch is out
Havent seen anyone mention this bug yet, but if you spam the pause menu, it breaks the in game music and, sometimes, even deletes the in game skybox. First time it happened to me i thought it was some sort of special event since the music stopped and the sky went dark. But no. Bug :D
He said console players would be mad for saying the console edition shouldnt have been made. Well, I think such anger would be justifiable because thats a pretty selfish take. Prior to the update, PC was fine and Console, while flawed in some regards, got to play Survivors of the Void finally and all was well. The worst thing tending to console mightve done was delay Seekers, but again, that feels like a selfish reason to deny 20% (still a significant number) of potential players the ability to play, and PC has (had?) a thriving modding community to keep entertained. The thing I agree with them is that they shouldnt have unified the codebase, or at least not using Console as the reference point. I would've understood if we had to wait for Seekers like we did for Survivors, but I guess the way they chose was less effort on their end. But Hopoo did that for us console players, youd think a bigger company like Gearbox could manage...
If I told you that your console game had to be made with worse graphics, less complexity, and more bugs with worse ui and design so it could work on phones would you be for it?
@@RacesVideos Making the game on Console didn't do that to PC. Unifying the codebase did, which I said they should not have done, at least not in that way. I would be perfectly fine with waiting a bit for either a more refined codebase that kept PC intact, or for a version of the DLC for console. I understand that PC should take priority with a majority of the playerbase, but it would still be a poor decision to neglect console entirely.
Idk what to tell you man, it was the worst thing to happen to the franchise. It never ever worked properly since its inception and constantly delayed itself for years for a consistently sub par barely working product that has only ever damaged the brand of risk of rain and Hopoo and gearbox both forever. Unifying the codebase was also always the end goal since the start but it was actually so poorly made it took years and they couldn’t even do it properly so they just sent bad code to pc cause it was impossible to do the reverse. I understand it sounds like you think a game that isn’t well made is still worth playing but I disagree here and that’s just a difference of opinion. I think it was a bad decision to sell a product that doesn’t work and I think it’s reasonable to not like that they did that. I’m happy though that you seem to enjoy the game regardless
I feel like seeker could be really cool if they made it so you could throw the orbs of the alt m2 and they exploded on impact (damage would be determined by how many enemies it got to hit while orbiting), if they let you stack tranquility infinitely and make her special actually feel like a special. Have it deal actual good damage and maybe throw a healing super nova. Currently i feel like the radius is so unbelievably small... maybe tranquility could increase its radius? So you could get to a point where youd be detonating the whole map and killing everything!! (Obviously that would be balanced by the presence of the HD2 minigame and cooldown). ″the more you meditate, the stronger you get″
5:20 you don't even need him to trimp, he will literally follow you off the map. I play mainly arti and I can just go hover off the map and it's a free kill on him because he'll just walk right off chasing me.
from what ive tested sale star stacks different then you would think. it says +5% to get another item, EACH 5% is independant. with 3 stars you have two different 5% chances to get another item AND clover affects that chance. i tried getting 3 clovers and 6 sale stars and was getting an average of 4-5 items each first chest
seeker is my favorite easily, i love taking a bunch of defensive and health-related items and just never dying ever rejuv, nkuhanas, repulsion armor, and as many stone pauldrons as i can get my hands on, i will never die and if i somehow get close to death i can just and leave to heal 4k hp instantly
I’ll be honest I discovered this game through console but I’ve pretty much been watching PC players and I feel for yall. Personally if code was gonna be unified in any favor I’d rather it lean towards the PC versions code. It’s sad this whole thing is a mess.
have you noticed that based on connection, seekers first and second shot of her primary will hit alot of enemies 2 times instead of once. unintentionally better in multiplayer lmao
my favorite bug i was playing with a friend and he had warped echo and got 10000 stacks of it and could take infinite items withoutremoving them and remove the ability for enemies to target him.
I was in a call with a friend when he go the no interactables bug. He was playing as the celestial wartank and noticed a min after entering a stage that there was no teleporter message in the top right.
20:30 I don’t know if that’s just a pc bug but the stone golems on PlayStation still just laser me from narnia. Their aim is still just as accurate as it used to be at least for me.
Honestly, I don't mind Voidling that much, I think it's a fun challenge when you have like a very OP run, kill Mithrix too easily and then want to challenge the build. Yeah, the fight itself is pretty boring and has some bad mechanics. But I think it fits the Void theme, it being ridiculous and over the top and can one shot you, if you don't have million speed. It's a huge boss, it should be scary af.
Idk why everyone seems to hate him because I love him😅 personal I think his growth is amazing and the buffs you gain from the spikes are great. And he makes infusion and bison stake soo good
Personally, I had a mostly good experience on day 1 of this DLC + Update. I was fortunate to have weak runs when I decided to go to Mithrix and got clapped at stage 5 a few times, but I did manage to kill the green-portal boss and unlock the character (for spoiler-free vagueness). I do enjoy a few more of the items than you guys, Chronic Expansion is pretty nice for cope runs without enough single-target but excess aoe dmg during the teleporter, and half of the reds they added are still better than Rejuv Rack in practice. Legit though, give all items a shot before judging them fully, not using them won't teach you anything about them even if some are bad in most situations. I did get some SotS fix mods and the game is a lot better. Some bugs still exist, golems still suck at aiming but wisp aim is pinpoint after the first shot (since they added a mechanic: Wisps, Golems and some others now miss their first shot if they're offscreen). Even got to kill Mithrix as the new beam boy, as I had no idea you could charge the beam to do more than pissing damage, and well that was today thanks to you showing the infinite beam bug, I just had to try it. Also I never encountered the new elites, but after what I heard, I got a mod that removes them, I got scammed out of my life a few times already this update but those were bad runs at least, these guys are a god-run threat.
Not a bug per se, but I picked up the new lunar item that converts all your gold to exp but makes all chests free on level up, and once I hit the level cap, I needed to keep looping until I found a cleansing pool, otherwise I would've gotten stuck on gilded coast unable to buy the pillars to fight aurelionite
Earlier today I booted up the game and I still to this day don't have survivors of the void, let alone seekers of the storm because I'm broke, and the game punches my gut as the loading screen thing shows one of the new enemies
Im just say it im a console player and when i heard about them unifying code I popped off then I heard that you PC player got dragged down to my level and I'm so sorry this isn't what I want
theres a mod that has tweaks to all the new survivors that makes them feel a lot better. Its called StormTweaks
Seeker and False son are all right in power tbh, CHEF is indeed weak and buggy
@@shadboi8927I think chef is really good once you get Yes Chef! Adds good variety and aoe. I personally think seeker is the worst of the three
I’m gonna be honest that mod overtunes them and just makes them too strong imo.
i wouldve liked to see more tweaks with seeker personally, especially with her damage maybe in regards to tranquillity stacks
there is thing you can download that makes the WHOLE GAME feel a lot better, it's called downpatching
Crazy how just building bison steaks/infusions gives that character literally everything it needs with his passive. Turning the worst items into the best for him.
no one talks about it, but yeah honestly a great choice from them to do this
I wish they buff some of the MAX HP items, titan knurl should be 100HP and 5HP/s its a boss item ffs a slug is better than it
stone pauldron is kinda crazy on him

@@strideytidey8665 oh yeah, i went through the floor a ton as well. Thing is, i was standing still lol
Turned my FPS down to 30 to catch a quick break and then realized if you go to a new stage while still on 30 FPS the amount of loot that spawns on the stage is literally tied to FPS so you’ll get like half as many chests, if even that much. Literally everything is tied to FPS.
Yes, that's the director being tied to fps. The director dictates how many enemies spawn, enemy types, chests, chest types, etc.

False Son's spikes are actually kind of amazing. You get more of them if you have an elevated max HP, and EACH individual spike applies a stacking 10% damage vulnerability debuff. Throw 4 spikes onto an enemy, do 40% more damage to them THEN laser them. It makes a huge difference on bosses, and it's even stronger in coop for obvious reasons.
agreed, i do like em quite a bit
That’s how you play him yeah, since you regenerate spikes during the beam you’re entirely meant to kill things like that
False Son is broken me and my friends had a run where the 3 of us ran False Son, we beat voidling after 2 stages and void fields 😂
The ability still feels like garbage to use though.
Yeah I actually enjoy playing false sun too. His slam is just so satisfying and it also nullifies fall damage.
i just realised warped echo is probably intended to synergise with medkit as that heals 2 seconds after damage
Also like Rap, tougher times, razorwire, all healing, all invincibility methods. I actually kinda like warped echo design in giving you a second chance for a brief moment, if only it wasn't horribly bugged
Yah too bad if you have higher fps the damage delay is shorter so you can't get the med kit heal before it triggers lmao, unless the medkit is also like that which I didn't think about
@@skiburc2252 yeah mine had been going off literally less than half a second later and I was confused asl

I thought it was meant to be a really good item for Rex. He's got a bunch of healing built into his kit, so having damage come in lots of smaller bursts instead of one big chunk would be easier to heal through

Everyone says that False son is the worst survivor added, but i cant agree with this at all. (Gameplay exclusicely, he does feel unpolished tho)
False son is a well designed character, that finds his place among the cast of survivors.
@@raven_knight_076he scales attack speed, he has no issues dumping his mag.

False son has a lot of really good intentions but getting past how he feels is the mountain
I honestly do really like false son but I do feel like his animations and “flow” of his spikes could use some work for sure
I think he lacks the change in model when he has spikes, because when he has spikes (4 for example) he gets extra armour and atk speed, and when you shoot them you get faster and get regen, so i think smoother animations and model change could help him
Spikes thing is a passive btw
to me he looks like an unpolished paladin skin
I feel like the m2 should always fire at whatever rate it would whenever all of them are unspent, having the rate of fire get slower as you shoot them feels so damn weird.
He feels way too awkward. So he's a small-long range (?) survivor? You basically never use his primary. What's the point of making a melee survivor where half of his abilities are long range?
@@raven75257 You never use his primary yeah but I use his hold primary + secondary a lot which clears out everything near you while activating bands
and you dont lose a lot of mobility while charging up either since you can still sprint, and with enough growth or attack speed the charge up is so much quicker that you can spam it if you ever want to just quickly kill an enemy in the land or an aerial enemy close to the ground
It seems like his primary is just used to finish off enemies if you dont want to expend spikes or charge the laser

i kind of like the spikes honestly... especially on mithrix u can just stack like 6 of them on him and get a nice damage boost on your R right after
i do like some of the new items. obviously sale star, but i like prayer beads, chance doll, and all of the reds except war bonds as well. warped echo and expansion are fine items too i think, not super good but theyre interesting
I actually think prayer beads (I can't test because I refunded) are cool item design. There are so many items in this game that are just insta scrap, prayer beads, chance doll actually do things while in your inventory and affect the game in a unique way.
Even antler isn't a horrible idea, but extremely undertuned. Boost the reflect and give it some armour and it would probably feel quite nice
They’re amazing on paper I just wish they felt fluid and nice to use like the other skills on the game imo
And now all we have to do is stay faithful while stuff gets patched. 🤷♂️
Most of the ideas aren't necessarily bad, but definitely undertuned. Seriously antler needs like 100% damage reflect and +5 armour per stack if they want that concept to work lol
There's still a couple issues like knockback fin being ridiculously useless and longstanding solitude being so bad it throws runs for you and your teammates
Other than that though it's basically all bugs and I would be having a blast if it weren't for multiple softlocks (I haven't seen twisted elites yet but they seem crazy, even mithrix is banned from taking razorwire and these guys can just appear anywhere and have the same effect)

Yeah and I don’t agree with totally discontinuing console either, that would be kinda fucked up
Unifying the codebase by taking what didn't work and merging it into what did work was a mistake.
You’re correct just a mixup, but yeah aoe still just locks you out of playing lol
They did at least add the best red… the one that has elites and bosses drop an item. Basically triples the items you get each stage
And even then, that item is completely broken and needs to be nerfed.
Of course that's really unfun which is why it's terrible, items shouldn't encourage players to do boring things if they want to improve their chances of winning
The only way to balance it would be to cap the items you can get per stage

Ty kami for this video
0:50 and 21:00, his attacks do actually serve purpose (once you stop abusing his ult bug)
M1 - mostly useless
M1+M2 - rly good aoe smash that does high damage (and if possible, i think its range and maybe damage scales with height from which you do it)
M2 - Heavily weakening attack that lets you do a ton of damage on individual targets (and it also boosts damage of other players to that enemy) which also grants you big buffs to attack speed and armor if you dont spend them, or movement speed and health regen if you spend them (the health regen is big), it also scales with items that boost your health like bison steaks, titanic knurl and infusion so you get more which means you also get more buffs. It also gives more spikes through backup magazine, which again translates to more buffs and more weakening.
Shift - Mobility primarily
R - Huge damage laser which duration of also scales with growth (unless you are just bug abusing like in this video, bruh)
All the attacks serve a purpose except normal m1 (unless you are at such high attack speed that your smash no longer works, or you just want to throw shurikens)
I personally love the entirety of the False Son survivor (if they can polish him in terms of animations and fixing bugs), probably my new main. Just underwhelming how low quality he is compared to others. His normal m1 also is kinda quite useless. Your smash already does big dmg and is aoe. And i didnt get a good chance to test his smash from air but from what i heard the higher you are the more aoe range the smash will have which could potentially cover the whole map (again i've only heard that part, so i cant confirm)
Edit: also about warped echo, you can pair it with medkit to heal after 2s before you take that other half of dmg which comes after 3s, or you can find ways to get more hp, or shield, or barrier to then be able to tank that other half of dmg without worry.
I mean if you can just shoot a laser infinitely why wouldn't you that's epic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@skiburc2252 i did already explain all that there is to him
Just his normal m1 is useless usually
The charge time of the slam and his ult charge time aswell as i think rate of fire of the ult all are scaled with attack speed, which means more spikes = better performance at these parts, and if you spend them instead you get monster health regen in turn
Edit: and yeah, his presentation animation wise is lacking, i wish he was more polished
Haven’t used it yet, cool tho
for the chests now falling off the map, im swear also scrappers now do a random spiral pattern which means even if its placed in a good spot, if its too close to the edge it might just choose to scrap in the wrong direction sometimes.
I like how false son scale by hp, i mean yeah damage > hp but the more hp False Son had the more skill+duration of the skill be

i feel as if Warped Echo is trying to be a second way to keep your watches. If you're going to take a hit that would break all your watches, you only take half of it. Assuming the coding is perfect and there are no bugs causing double damage, your medkit would heal you before you take the other half of the damage, most likely saving your watches. Same with taking lethal damage.

That “new path” at 18:11 has always been there on console. The console maps were always a bit different but the wiki never reflected it!
Learn something new everyday look at that
I feel like seeker could be really cool if they made it so you could throw the orbs of the alt m2 and they exploded on impact (damage would be determined by how many enemies it got to hit while orbiting), if they let you stack tranquility infinitely and make her special actually feel like a special.

The only good thing in this update is that the game is much better to watch than to play.
lol
from what ive tested sale star stacks different then you would think. it says +5% to get another item, EACH 5% is independant. with 3 stars you have two different 5% chances to get another item AND clover affects that chance. i tried getting 3 clovers and 6 sale stars and was getting an average of 4-5 items each first chest
flashed banged with both tf2 and codz terms from ror youtubers
seeker is my favorite easily, i love taking a bunch of defensive and health-related items and just never dying ever
rejuv, nkuhanas, repulsion armor, and as many stone pauldrons as i can get my hands on, i will never die and if i somehow get close to death i can just and leave to heal 4k hp instantly
I’ll be honest I discovered this game through console but I’ve pretty much been watching PC players and I feel for yall. Personally if code was gonna be unified in any favor I’d rather it lean towards the PC versions code. It’s sad this whole thing is a mess.
my favorite bug is when mithrix's pizza turns invisible for no reason on captain sometimes
have you noticed that based on connection, seekers first and second shot of her primary will hit alot of enemies 2 times instead of once. unintentionally better in multiplayer lmao
me every time race's tone changed when talking about the DLC before release "oh it's gonna be ass" lo and behold i was right
1:51 "Look at children" 😳
🤔
Seeker's utility with 5+ RAPs and some razorwires is a niche combo
A bit cheesy but it does the job well
literally risking the the rain
gearbox feather
my favorite bug i was playing with a friend and he had warped echo and got 10000 stacks of it and could take infinite items withoutremoving them and remove the ability for enemies to target him.
Seeker is the coolest survivor in the dlc but false son is the strongest survivor in the dlc
I was in a call with a friend when he go the no interactables bug. He was playing as the celestial wartank and noticed a min after entering a stage that there was no teleporter message in the top right.
As a console player all imma say to you guys "your in my world now not your world, and i got bugs on the other side"
the lantern item should honestly be a void item of delicate watch because how bad they synergize
20:30 I don’t know if that’s just a pc bug but the stone golems on PlayStation still just laser me from narnia. Their aim is still just as accurate as it used to be at least for me.
I agree with many thing, but exploiting R's bug and complaining that it's too strong and other abilities feel useless is just a comedy
Other abilities are good, just feel bad, but you’re taking it more seriously than I am. I’m just having fun with a friend in coop messing around lol
Also I never encountered the new elites, but after what I heard, I got a mod that removes them, I got scammed out of my life a few times already this update but those were bad runs at least, these guys are a god-run threat.
i had the tp not spawning happen in pure vanilla, it was only 1 time ever but it was a 6 hour run and it was about 6:20m in
Not a bug per se, but I picked up the new lunar item that converts all your gold to exp but makes all chests free on level up, and once I hit the level cap, I needed to keep looping until I found a cleansing pool, otherwise I would've gotten stuck on gilded coast unable to buy the pillars to fight aurelionite
I expected survivors of the void 2, and we got survivors of the void 0.1.
Earlier today I booted up the game and I still to this day don't have survivors of the void, let alone seekers of the storm because I'm broke, and the game punches my gut as the loading screen thing shows one of the new enemies
Warped Echo has synergy with Medkit but enough teddy’s do the same in a way
If you jump when the teleport item activates it kills you
I like the spikes :(
Im just say it im a console player and when i heard about them unifying code I popped off then I heard that you PC player got dragged down to my level and I'm so sorry this isn't what I want
Same I Wanted the pc experience not the pc to suffer
