Q: Will this reset the BIOS Password?
A: No. In most cases, this procedure will not reset your BIOS password. For that, you would need to locate the jump point on the motherboard. Not all motherboards have them, but if yours does, you can reset the BIOS password by shorting out those two points. Due to the high risk of 'bricking' your computer if you don't do it correctly, I do not provide assistance in locating those points on this channel.

I won’t ask you to explain exactly how… but does this specific computer have these points? I’m considering taking it to a professional. Thanks for your expertise!

I have the same laptop after I have replaced the keyboard the laptop itself gives me a hard time powering up once it powers up works just fine but after shutdown, it is hard to power it back on what are the issues ?

And this started after replacing the keyboard? If you try reseating the Keyboard Ribbon Cable, does that help? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?

I have a 6 months old HP Elitebook 840 G8. It works perfectly fine, but I've noticed that after I turn the laptop off it produces a very faint high-pitched sound followed by constant periodic high-pitched clicks (like a clock ticking).
I can only hear the sound when I put my ear in the back of the laptops case.
My question is could the cause of producing those sounds be something serious and should I take it to service, or is this a normal behavior of laptops. This sound persisted through the whole night when the laptop was off, and when it was not plugged into the wall. Also the battery doesn't seem to be loosing power I checked the level before shutting down at night and opening it back up the next morning.

I would first fully update as seen here: ua-cam.com/video/kX8bB725Ljw/v-deo.html. After that, can you run the HP diagnostic test as seen here? ua-cam.com/video/lKb2pPQrkRk/v-deo.html. Any errors found? Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared? Liquid spill, overheating, Windows update, etc?

@@jamminpcs I ran all diagnostic available either through Windows or HP even the UEFI ones that HP includes alongside the BIOS. Everything passes. I even updated the windows, updated all the drivers and the BIOS firmware. Everything is up-to-date and yet the noise is still there. Could it be by design ? Or maybe it's faulty component like a capacitor or something else that's failing and making that noise?

@@allengt8431 I would have to hear it unfortunately :( You can try uploading a video to your channel and messaging me back here. I can view it and see if I can tell but its hard not in person :( Unless something is physically stuck in the fan or something like that, a noise would have to be a movable part like the HDD

Have you looked around in your BIOS for the password options? It should be in the Security Tab
