Exactly, perhaps a specific individual realized art was slipping and wanted to be authentic just to get declined lol. Not supporting individuals choices after the fact but ya know.
So, fun fact about the second one, with the buckets of sand. It was actually a demonstration for the purpose of criticizing art, but also telling people not to be afraid of making art. Basically, "Watch me stack 10 buckets, let them fall, boom that's art. Yes it's that easy now go make art"
Which again shows that most people don't actually listen or research anything, they just see something, judge, and call it trash. Which is the opposite of what artists are trying to get across.
"Watch me stack 10 buckets, let them fall, boom that's art" that is the problem ! there is no meaning to this, no reasoning behind it, no skill, only"play pretend i'm an artist" and actual artists who honed their skills all their life and take art seriously are supposed to say "whoa incredible i admire you !" ? you don't even understand how stupid this is. this is nihilism.
And then someone loads their life's work into an ai and their skill can be replicated by a machine. Art has never been about skill, it has always been about creativity and emotion. Take a look at some of picasso's famous work and you'll see that a decent portion of it is not "skillful". It's interesting though because of the fact that he was skilled and chose to paint like that.
none of the artists listed here were involved in something entirely accidental. the art is the conception, that's where god is, in CONCEPTION. something outta nothing. you conceive of things that no one else does. do you take action and invest in studio/ gallery space, rehearse, perfect, buy more materials, etc. ??? do you just risk nothing at all? some people seek to imitate the past , others to conceive the future. personally, staying here and now is the coolest and therin is the EXPERIENTIAL. here for the ride, not for the crap... nor the needless sneering and condescension by mr. important sculptor. love
As a person who has DEGREE IN ART I have always believed that ART is something that is created INTENTIONALLY. Doing STUPID things that leaves so much to CHANCE isn't a CREATION... It's made by CHANCE.. MEANING that ANYONE COULD DO IT!! T H A T ..... is why there's SO MUCH CR@P OUT THERE.

@@kathleen9774 I have been in art school. I know that "modern art" is something around the 20' and is based on stuffs like Art Deco and abstraction. Don't do your dickhead just because you can't accept that someone see stupid pseudo-artists like in the video as fools with no talents. I don't care that Joseph Beuys has used grease in an "installation" and that a 18yo LGBT+ punkette try to mimic him. I don't like abstract art nor anything descending from it. Contemporaray art is shit like collectioning saucepans and holding them on the ceiling (seen at Paris) or putting wool on a chair. Or spitting colors on a surface, of painting a white square on a white background. Those concepts fucking with concepts in a loop are funny when seen for the first time, but quickly, it becomes boring and even a poison. @MaxisBallinonaBudget I can't agree. This is something we did as kids to have fun. Any one with the money can do it. It takes no practice. Talent or creativity.
Completely different forms of art lol. The clips being shown are performative art. Be for real acting like art needs to be something you can comfortably understand and digest is way way more annoying than art snobs that think everything is art.
I think art it’s not about how much effort you put into something, is more of the results, and yeah the guy does makes pretty good sculptures and the other “artists” are clowns doing random shit anyone can do.
@@lich.possum I am fine with a performative art. But correct me if i am wrong, isin't performative art suppose to provoke a thought or say something and that's how it differes from a show? “ANYTHING” “CAN” be art is not the same thing as “EVERYTHING” “IS” art It’s about creativity, presentation, showing something uniquely from your own perspective. You can turn anything into art but that doesn’t mean that everything you do is inherently art
No, you can’t just whack a lump of clay with a wire and say “okay this is art” These weird “artists” are doing what you said. Showing something unique from their perspective. Doesn’t make it art.
My dad, who sadly passed away last year, was a fine artist. His oil paintings were beautiful, yet we just couldn't sell them. People for some reason don't appear to appreciate great art. They would rather spend thousands or millions to someone who creates crap. Ps I love your sculptures.

Careful it might be burned down and destroyed because they might have mistaken it for them statues of the past all to be replaced with demonic art , "Creative Destruction"
When I was in art school for a year, I had these exact thoughts about some of my teachers. It was like they were TRYING to do weird stuff JUST TO BE "UNIQUE" instead of actually teaching us basic techniques that I was hoping for -_-
Bingo. You have to know and follow every rule and then know how and when to break them to become an Artist. Or you can just follow every rule and Be Good.
There was a big problem when my mom was college-aged where art professors stopped teaching the classic foundations of art and went into this weird stuff. She never did get formal training until decades later, but that is the main reason she’s not regretful about skipping art school in her twenties.
Then it was a bad art school, in mine we were taught basics but also not refraining our uniqueness. If someone has ideas or uniqueness they should not contain it. It's a very dumb video. Criticizing art is useless, if no one likes it, then no one watches / pay for it and that's done.
My Art professor straight up brought a nude painting of her husband to our class. He was also a professor in school 😂 never saw him the same again. But at least she had that old school talent, it was very realistic. 👀
Well, actually should be the opposite and that's because the art you can see and also other types of contemporary art (like the conceptual one) are made to make you stop and say "ok, what am I watching?" but not in a negative way, trying to make you analyze the opera and make you create your meaning and your sense. If you'll be curious you could always search to understand the meaning of the author, but sometimes this isn't what the artist wants because he wants that, with your mental set, you try to find a sense of what you're seeing.
I think you are confusing craftsmanship with artistry. Yes his sculpture of Shelby is well done but is it saying anything? Why does it exist? Solely to show off this man’s skill I guess, but art should say something that words fail to capture.
@@Who8mydamnoreospretty narrow definition of “art” there bucko. Care to explain the subtle meaning from the dude using his seizure to finger paint? Or how about the Asian dude ramming his face into a wall of clay?

As an artist, I can see how frustrating it is that some modern artists put little to no skill in their craft when you clearly pour your heart and soul into most if not all your works. The thing is that art is a human expression. Anyone can do it to varying "quality" but it's not about the skill that gives you attention or money, it's confidence and luck to get the right audience.
I agree. Also I dont personally like pushing others art down like you said its an expression. Let people choose what art they like. I personally dont find enjoyment in these kind of modern conceptual art whereas those sculptures are crazy good. Good art IMO needs complexity to titillate the senses.
as an artist myself I tend to feel the same about many of these exhibits but I do my best to keep an open mind. these are performance art pieces, not regular visual art so they aren't really comparable to sculpture. a large part of these is the experience not the outcome. I am not a huge fan of performance art but. it is its own field with its own merits and at the end of the day, to each their own. as far as visual art goes, I personally do not like Pollock or Duchamp's works one bit but a lot of people do so. beauty is in the eye of the beholder. btw fantastic sculpting!
Thank you so much for conveying this!!! I feel the same way, and you conveyed it so well here.

Goes to art school and learns nothing because they already think they know better than the teachers
That peaky blinders sculpture is amazing. Contemporary art may be interesting for a minute, but sculptures and paintings will last forever.
