Continuing Steamtown National Historic Site's annual tradition, a steam-powered excursion is run out of Scranton, PA, in the middle of the cold snow-covered Pocono Mountain winter to Tobyhanna's Ice Harvest Festival. We follow the train as it makes its way up the hill to Tobyhanna, where a reenactment of an "Ice Harvest" takes place. The ice is then stored in the Ice House where it stays frozen even in the warmer months.
Spectacular imagery. Well composed shots that capture the majestic, powerful beauty of a time gone by. Thank you.
Thanks for doing such a good job with this video. I was on this train, like I am every year. Its nice to see what the train looks like from the outside. Steam trains are so much better in the cold weather!
Magnificent images, superbly taken and encompassing the magic that is snow and steam...Thanks...5* Bob
Outstanding Video! I see your getting the hang of FCP and Compressor. Love the HD footage and text! Keep up the great work!
Wonderful Joe!!!!

Awesome vid. Nice harvest footage.
Outstanding video!
Drop-Dead Gorgeous VIDEO!!!!!!
Shame 3254 will never get to run again and I don't see steamtown ever bringing her back to service only 3713 and 2317.
Nice video dude
You have to export the file as a 720p .mov file.
Also, you really should shoot the video in high definition if your going to upload HD. I shot this particular video with a Sony HDR-HC7 high definition camcorder.
I really did like your video !!!
Did you film this entirely yourself, or did you have a second person shooting video?
GREAT production Joe. If it hadn't been so crowded down at the lake we woulda went down. The Ice Harvest Footage was priceless.
@bnsf261
Stunning video Joe, it is also nice that you included the Ice harvest, which would have been overlooked by most.
What a wonderful sound to hear a train whistle threw the mountains
3254 is such an amazing sight during the Snow season. Five stars!
Fantastic video, thanks!
Very neat video Joe. I like seeing the Ice harvesting. There's a lake near me that was used for the same thing about 100 years ago. It's looks neat how they did that back in the good old day's. When my Mother was going up, they had a ice box. and a man would come around with blocks of ice. they only cost $.50 a block.
