We're messing with you. There's no such thing as charity actors. But in our video, did you recognize stereotypes frequently used in fundraising campaigns? Hunger and poverty is ugly, and it calls for action. However, we need to create engagement built on knowledge, not stereotypes. Why? www.rustyradiator.com/#why
We need to change the way fundraising campaigns are communicating issues of poverty and development. This is why we are awarding creative fundraising campaigns with the Golden Radiator Award, and stereotypical campaigns with the Rusty Radiator Award. An international jury nominated eight videos, and YOU get to decide the winners by VOTING NOW! Winners will be announced 3rd of December.. www.rustyradiator.com/#rusty-r...

Every 60 seconds, a minute passes in Africa
1 like = 1 $
wow that's so sad :( they should have an extra second :D
Every 60 seconds, a minute passes -and this will blow your mind- EVERYWHERE.
Kiefer Irwin Ryan No it doesn't they have been discriminated against the England stole 10 seconds and now they only have 50
+Kiefer Irwin Ryan 😂😂😂😂
So true. Africa has 54 countries and a billion people. Saying they're all facing the same conditions would be ridiculous.
Terry Vincent In 2014 there was an uprising in guinea because of rumors that the health workers was transmitting ebola into the patients. This was the same day that senegal had contracted the virus.
its not ridiculous. we are one Africa. if a baby is ill in a family, everyone feels the impact
54 countries? Someone clearly didn't watch "Who wants to be a Volunteer?".
@@I.am.outspoken no we are not one
...I would love to see this concept turned into a movie. At least it would be an original movie in the recent slew of remakes. And that kid is awesome I hope to see him in more things
It would be pretty funny. Sasha Baron Cohen should be involved.
Just google Leon Schuster movies.
Greed (2019)
That's a full-grown man with dwarfism.
Me too!
That kid actor is very talented!
and has a very funny voice!!!
He isn't a kid, just has a growth condition - that's is a middle aged SouthAfrican actor, which I think was part of the joke.
this isnt even a plot twist, its the truth lol. Thank you for making this
yup...live aid, band aid....Bob Geldof we're looking at you ....
michael is iconic. the part that stuck with me is when he told his story, then the woman started crying and HE had to comfort HER... lmao
Love it.... Western people can be so ignorant. Poverty is there but don't take our dignity
I almost choked from laughing so hard. Hi-la-ri-ous! Very clever.
YOU PEOPLE are insanely GREAT! This is one of the most interesting campaigns I saw in a long time. Voted on your site... THANK YOU!
thanks!
SAIH Norway Maybe you know the ending song? :D
Intelligent and clever video. It points out that there is real poverty and need in Africa, but stereotypes and western perception of the problems need updating.
The crowd in the comments section seem to have completely missed it though. Guess you can't cure stupid.
***** talking about stereotypes...
_Warning: Quite long and unrelated to the video._
There's a difference between a stereotype and a group characteristic susipls, and I think ***** is correct on this one. He might have put it a bit blunt, but that opinion is shared by most major tech writers (the ones that don't still ride the Ghost Town pony).
The reason behind it is the early population of Google+. The nucleus of the membership are tech people who were sick of the blatant stupidity displayed on Facebook and Twitter. Since that, loads of other people have joined too, but the general tone has carried over. The grounds are infertile for trolls and morons, and you're more likely to find a good debate instead of just the normal "ur ghey" of UA-cam past.
I think this is a lot of the reason why Google chose to burn the slum that was the UA-cam commenting system to the ground and replace it with Google+. They're hoping the influx of existing Google+ users who previously avoided the comment sections as the plague, along with a lot more powerful moderating tools, would change the tone of UA-cam as well.
.... and apart from the morons in Bob's Army, it looks to be quite successful. On channels where the channel owner has spent 15 minutes learning the new tools, spam and trolls are more or less gone. Only dumbasses remain, and you can read a lot of their opinions further down here. I particularly enjoy those that thought this video was anti-aid. Morons...
There is real poverty in europe too as well as in america. What you call poverty might not be perceived as such by the people experiencing it. I think we need to reassess the real meaning of poverty.
First rule in planet earth, people are stupid , so don't assume otherwise.
I know a businessman who 15 years ago was pitching that mobile phone companies invest in Ghana. The CEOs thought he was crazy because _clearly_ Africans are too poor and helpless to use phones.
Today Ghana has 25 million people and *26 million mobile subscriptions*. [Many people use two].
I used to be a shipping organizer between Europe, and Africa. So one of the goverments ordered medicine. (Can't remember what virus) We did not have that medicine in stock, but we had the same kind of medicine (same affect, diffrent company)... And i tried to organize, that they get the medicine. But it turns out, that if 90% of the population can't read, and only recognize the medicine by the looks of the package, then you would have a huge problem. Someone finaly figured it out, and saved my ass.
"tastes like sh*t" I swear I knew he would say that xDDDDD
Great video and the kid was hilarious!, sadly in the comments you all still refer to Africa as a country and not a continent. Some of the richest people in the world are citizens of the continent of Africa ...
The richest and the poorest. It's no secret that in most poor areas, someone still manage to get their cake. Just like in the US, the average isn't that bad, but the distribution of wealth is horribly off.
This is spot ON correct the amount of funds that have been used Save AFRICA in terms of AID since the 80's amounts to billions even trillions of $$ and there is negligible effect ...thanks for challenging this ponzi scheme fund drives that rarely benefit Africa, very few are genuine
Great video! In class today we were talking about why we think people are poor, and it was interesting to see that when referring to poverty in Africa, people spoke of lack of shelter and basic necessities. But then in reference to poverty in North America people mentioned the words 'lazy' or 'not working hard enough'.
It is definitely important for people to get educated! You can't make good decisions unless they're informed decisions.
Excellent point! Watch Chimamanda Adichie's TED Talk titled "The Danger of a Single Story" whenever you get the chance :)
@William Adams:
I, as european completely agree with most of what you are saying; many (but not all) of the problems that african countries encounter while trying to develop have their roots in unfair trade policies and financial imperialism, encated by our western countries. Development Aid can only try to mitigate a fraction of this problems, so political action in Europe towards better and fairer policies would be the bigger help. But as not every african is a greedy corrupt burocrat, not every Westerner is a shallow egotistical profitdriven hedonist. Any many really want to work hard for a better world.
You are sooooo right! But how many European would agree with you? Not many... Still enjoying their richest life build on blood african people... sad.
"You can't tell m that wasn't funny."
super brilliant intervention. thanks a lot. and we need so many radiators!
Absolutely hilarious ! Such brilliant work !
Angelina Jolie is going to adopt him now
Leave the blsck kids slone
Best Comment!
This is the greatest thing that I have ever seen.
Watching this for the first time. Man, you guys are just great. That kid is awesome.
Lies so many time told and brainwashed become truth some people reality. This is the power of single story... a game of exploitation and neo-colonialism. To help Africa, on must visit first hand and experience.
I couldn't agree more.
From Uganda, spot on!
Nominated for Best Actor: MICHAEL!
I love you guys... keep up with these videos they are amazing!
How ridiculous stereotypes can be, and why the "Save Africa" perception of Charity as it is portrayed today, is wrong.
This is indeed insanely great! Best campaign I have ever seen! So damn true!
This will always be amongst my all-time favorite ads.
Creative way to get the message across, kudos.
Absolutely brilliant!
Reading the comments I got the impression that people think this video is about how NGOs get money out of rich people in the western world. To me, it seems, this is not the point at all.
I rather think the main focus of the project is to make people question their stereotypes, because STEREOTYPES ROB PEOPLE OF THEIR DIGNITY. Questioning your stereotypes means questioning your convictions, your perceptions of the world, it means questioning your personality and questioning what you think is true. It's a hard way to go and nobody can do it for you but at the end of the day, it's worth the effort.
32 people didn't got mad Skillz.
Man I can't stop watching this, is just GREAT! at least you do something different! :D thanks!
You guys are genius
Africa needs to save itself, so save your money.
Africa is a country bigger than Europe theee times . I hate to hear this. Sad. Africa is the safest place to be in the world.
@Shaggy Maluze I mean continent.. that was a typo but I know people think it’s a country.
OMG! so twisted! you surprised me over and over again! so hilarious! LOL
This kid is a 5 star actor! Funny as hell xD
Bleeding wonderful!
BIGGEST PLOT TWIST I HAVE EVER SEEN
Serious topic but this gave me quite the chuckles :)
Forget Africa... now Save Greece, Save Spain, Save Croatia, Save Portugal, Save Europa!!!!
+Linda haha you think a lot of Portuguese people are going to Angola since they speak Portuguese there for jobs. out of 10 growing economy 6 are in Africa none in Europe. My country is almost a trillion dollar economy. Come 2030 Europe will further decline or even become an Arabic continent a lot of Muslims now.
+Linda I am not from Angola by the way
+titi owo You spout bullshit like you have finger diarrhea. Almost all economies in the World are growing, some grow just faster than others and Europe has plenty of growing economies.
Angola's economy is about $130 bln, the EU alone has an economy of $18000 bln, so the Angolan economy is less than 1% of the EU economy.
Muslims are about 2,5% of Europe so there's no way they'll be a majority in the next few hundred years.
BoloYung are you a fool you are comparing the whole of Europe to a country how very smart of you.
Very Nice video, Say no to stereotypes!. Funny too
That’s so funny way better than all of that drepressing stuff that media normally shows us
Don't forget to vote for gold and rusty radiator too!
Nice to see a funy video with good ideas
This kid is awesome!
I loooooooove this initiative :) #LoveAfrica
this is hilarious. so true.
I watch this everytime I'm sad
I like the video mad funny. here is my question. how cold is it, that my man in the background, towards the end, need a heater?
That kid is briliant!
Its about time
Maravillosa campaña.
just absolutely great!!! - and ever so true........
Can't get enough of this video!! ahahahahaha
looks like someone watched Trevor's spoof ;) Well done!
Beautiful
This is awesome.
I'll give a brief comment. THIS KID IS AWESOME.
sweetest kid ever
this is really great!! Is it only me who is wondering whether this is his original voice or a pitched oned (or maybe his voice pitched)?
I appreciate what y'all are doing with this video - go satire!! It shakes our cages and makes us check our coordinates - that is the purpose of satire, to show us a miror, if it is satire it does that. This did. Bravo.
He got some good dance moves at the end
this is epic!
This is a good point and i myself get exasperated when some of the Celebs cry in front of the people they are talking to.
However, the message that could come across from this is not that we should remember that Africa is not one country or not all poor but that we shouldn't promote helping those that need it because it is patronising...
Thats all amazing. So humane so fun!
Super LOL
Why did they play the beginning of The Lion King? Too funny
I know right. This is why I can't watch Lion King with other people while being African
Imeh Smith Because this is a parody! 😂😂😂
awesome !
cool kid... xD but I got carried away, watching for the funny moments than listening to what the vid was trying to say but I pulled through in the end. Thumbs up for this! :D
Haha here for this!
song at the end?
Ha! Great video.
Does anyone know the song from 0:35?
This is just great. We have the same problem in Brazil, as we always see our Northeastern "sertão" region as poverty-stricken, diseased people without future. And media couldn't help less on this. Then we just put everyone in the same pot and just look with sad eyes... touching. Maybe this is a global thing.
Buuuuuuuut, as your site requires social networks to vote, and i want to burn g+, you'll just get my "well done" here.
And Northeastern Brazil is even more stereotypized than Africa, because isn't actually a place with much poverty or social problems. Actually, its one of the most advanced regions from Brazil, it's just that the Media says that it isn't so they can make rivers of money by "making charity funds for northeastern poor families", which they actually just do because by doing that, they don't have to pay most of the taxes.
what version of the lion king theme is that?
I dont have words for how awesome this is, but you know canada is cold too, I could use a heater :(
"... wait for it! ... wait for it! and that's sad Africa!" my fav line. I'm gonna make a video :)
Yea, i really liked that line too. Hehe...the way the image popped up after that statement was cool
Saving Africa? Kick britain & france eu out.!! Simple solution.
+SomaliMuslimah ! no Somali&Muslim can stay,but America must go
Pretty sure they already left during the 20th century.
I'd still like to know what country this is?
Lol...this is funny annoying at the same time. Great humor, production and revelation of the misconceptions in Africa.
Anyone know the name of the song when the kid is dancing at the end?
He's not a kid. He's probably in his thirties. That's the point.
excellent
