The development that's happened in Diani in the last 4yrs is insane. The last time I was there naivas was the biggest supermarket and Havana was the restaurant to eat at. Now there's Carrefour, coffee shops besides java, more restaurant options that range from affordable to fine dining. And the accommodation options... I feel like next time I find myself in Diani, the distinguishing ffactors from Nairobi will be the heat and ocean.
As far as Diani has developed so much the insecurity is a big issue. As a tourist destination the government needs to beef up security and make tourist feel safe. We need to reach the level of Zanzibar.
@@johnohando2390 hmm so insecurity seems a major concern? Diani and all other tourist destinations need to be protected. They are he goose that lay the golden egg. I also blame the county govt. Who is the ward rep to raise these concerns.
@@johnohando2390actually you are very wrong on the security situation. If you opt to tour dingy spots blame your choice rather than security. A visitor sticks out like a sore thumb whether a mzungu or mtu wa bara. Either get a local to guide you are stick to the tourist spots patrolled by tourist police
With the opening of the bridges connecting Mombasa Island to south coast, Diani will grow so fast with more investments in housing, hotels, restaurants as ease of access will be just 20minutes to Diani once the bridges are complete. Watch this space
It wasnt open when you did this but Amani Angani rooftop is a swahili Arab fusion which feels like Dubai in Diani. Live music, world class chef/ kitchen and amazkng decor and vibes.
Salty squid is the best and their other drinks place Funky Monkey, I used to pass by the colobus cafe when going to the beach, never thought it had amazing food. Nostalgia. Amazing place

@@johnohando2390 GoK should also invest in world-class infrastructure. Proper highway(s), cycling paths, NMTs, modern airport terminal(s). etc.
@@derrickmutuma7185 GoK don't give af on things which generates revenue to the country. In Ukunda insecurity is scary 😨
