I misspoke on this one. I was thinking about War of the Worlds when I said what I thought might have been the first alien invasion science fiction book. The Time Machine likely started the whole time travel subgenre though! It's the oldest one I know of on the topic.
This may be sacrilege, but when I get books in bulk, you get a lot of damaged Weight Watchers, magazines, & outdated textbooks ect… And I’ve been considering purchasing a wood chipper to turn them into mulch. Anyone have thoughts?
@@General_reader Yeah, don't mulch the ones made with glossy paper, it's not good for your soil. :) I'd personally rip off the covers as well. I like burning garbage books too. Ash and charred paper are good for gardens. :)
@@General_reader On eBay that's, fortunately, added at the end and the buyer pays. For me, as an Oregonian, I don't have sales tax and will always forget about it as such. Lol

Dang, I was hoping you were going to give tips on how to get the smells out.
@@attheshowvids Not in this one, but I have other videos on the channel that go over that! :)
The "bay" is just 1 place to research price. Use at least 3 sources such as worthpoint & Abebooks. Do not use auctions as you may lose $$

@@antiquebookcollective it is so hard to burn books. You have to stir it constantly like a cauldron and so much ashes thrown in the air
Super true, but every now and then I really need some ashes for my plants and/or worm farm, so I make it work. :)
older books may have used toxic chemicals in their construction, so burning and mulching may be a no go
@@thriftingsisters1226 Hmm, I guess I didn't consider that one, I've only ever burned newer books.
Don’t forget paying sales tax!!!!!
