  • We had the car serviced today so, at a loose end, we decided to explore our home town a little more and came accross "Alexandra Park" - named after Queen Alexandra herself, with her blessing back in 1911.
They have a permament exhibition spread around the perfectly manicured gardens and bowling greens showing the various habitats of Colony, single and Bumble Bees, be it in a hive, up a pole or, indeed, underground. Also, extra information and habitat for wasps, Moths and Butterflies. All in all, a very interesting experience, so much little known information and if I may say so, the best little park for miles around.
Tennis courts for the fitter of us and a marvelous play area for the kids with swings, slides and football nets. Loads of Flora and Fauna with numerous benches in both full sunshine and shade.
Public conveniences thoughtfully planned with steps and ramps for the less mobile. This park is Highly recommended.
