I totally agree. I approach every day with a goal of what I want to get done that day. It doesn't always work and often this is the case but when it does you get a sense of achievement. If nothing else it gives you a target and sets a pace which is important.
Nice work. I installed 1.5 million in pipe and pipe gates around mining property back in 1999 inWV like this. Repetitive work but very rewarding.
Looking great! Good thing you had help! Those pipes are heavy! Lot of cutting
That's some true American made craftsmanship! Building things to last. Thank you for your videos Austin puts a smile on my face knowing that I'm not the only one that does that extra mile
This is me and my buddys plan after high school! Thanks man for the inspiration
Siempre es grato e inspirador ver tus vídeos. Muchas gracias, saludos desde México!!!👍👍👍
Beautifully done.

The ole welding supply store is liking arosswelding and the consumption of acet on this fence job!
Nice fence forsure some quality thought and time spent
Nice job bro👍 thanks❤️🙂
Beautiful work brother. Very professional. Much respect
That's a mighty fine massive pipe fence you have built Mr. Ross. I wish you success in your pipe fence school. Blessings to you.
Ross always good to see you
Not a pipeliner (never have been) alas I've done a lot of field work in the past (sawmill, pulpmill and rail!) I've been welding since I was 18 (I'm 37!) I come from a high production welding environment alas these days I build sawmill equipment for a living in a shop 5 minutes from my house. I almost never weld anymore and the motto "Learn something new everday" is awesome! Younger me made a lot of mistakes. Older me got wise and opted to learn from those willing to teach. Coincidentally I learn a lot on your channel and as much as I hate welding you kinda re-ignited the passion I once had for it! ^_^
What an Awesome channel!! I wish I was able to take your class! Thanks Austin! For all the work you do making these videos so others can learn soooooo much!!
You're very intelligent man. Feel like I've learned a lot from watching your videos!! Keep up good work!! 👍
Thanks Austin for sharing your time and abilities with us. The project is going great and really looking awesome. You’re doing a great video. Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻✋🏻✋🏻
million dollars project with exceptional skills ...
Gorgeous. I'll probably buy the course just cause of the obvious time and effort you've put in it sells that there's a value and that I'll probably learn a thing or two
Enjoy seeing your work get bigger and better w/every project! This turned out awesome!!
I have to say, I really like the larger pipe more than the smaller ones in other videos. The materials cost must be astronomical though. Looking great so far Austin!
Looking nice.
Beautiful job..
Love the circle burner and excellent work
Looking good brother be safe out there
Hi Austin, I have been watching your videos and was thinking about going into welding school for 2 years(in Sweden). It's free and they will teach me to pipe weld with tig and mma, I took your advice to get some experience so I have been working for 2 years now as a mig/tig welder and I am happy I took your advice. The only issue is that I will be away from family and friends going back to school.
Amazing work true professional .
Right on Austin fence is looking good!
Hey Yo Austin, I figure the only reason why you cut holes In all of the poles is so that you aren't fighting gravity from putting fishmouth cuts on all your lengthwise pipe runs . You know you could just make yourself 2 fixtures out of 1/2" angle I welded to 1"x1/8" wall tubing that you could tack to the sides of the upright poles and just set you pipe runs on top of them . That way you don't fatigue the upright poles so much by cutting holes out of them with a torch. To bad you don't have an extra generator on you truck so you could just run a plasma cutter and an air-compressor instead of and oxy-ace torch you might be able to save more of oxy-ace gas prices if you did.
You make those cuts look so easy
Looks great! I have a question you may have covered. How do you find the vertical center of each pipe so you can be certain your holes line up from post to post? Measure off string line in 2 places then strike a vertical line on each side of each post? I bet you got a better way cant wait to hear it.
Nice looking fence.
Should name that truck Mater! Reminds me of him with that big-ole jib-boom, & looks happy
They should hire you to build the border walls
They will actually last
Отличная работа!!!👍👍👍😎
God. what a strong fence. is it against tractors? or are dinosaurs coming? and I think that the pipes are small through the pillars can be passed in full length.
that truck is sweet man, cant wait to have one in a couple years!
That looks good!
Very Good!...
Dude spent some money on that one for sure.
Amazing job!! Looks great
Josh- Manitoba Canada
Beautiful 🤩 and very expensive 💵 😂
What size is the pipe post. What size are the pipes that running across. Like to watch your video. It is teaching me a little bit of pipe work and welding.
What are you keeping in with that fence, scrub bulls?
I am sure you got fasted cutting the holes for the rails as you went along. How long on average did it take to cut each hole?
beautifuil work I guess you used your transit to get the holes level.. It would be nice to be able to aford the a ross class
How much was the total cost to build that fence parts and labor?
Maybe you should look into having all the pipe cut with the holes laser cut prior to being delivered to site would save you a hell of a lot of time and effort. Looks unreal but mate!
thatd raise the cost a lot as its be a custom job every time on a annoying to work on material (round pipe being the annoying thing to laser cut)
@@alfonsoalonzo not any more mate they have pipe CNC plasmas it has a lathe chuck which spins and goes in and out as it cuts, I think at least getting all the straight ones holes cut would greatly increase profits and time saving
@@Bigsoot7393 i doubt that itd be in any way cheaper then doing it yourself at all and even if he finds a shop to do the work that dosent change the prices you pay for custom work being done and thats not even mentioning shipping the pieces to wherever you are
So many caps sitting inside the bottom of the pipe 😂😂 awesome.
Very cool .. how are you making the pipe caps? I did not see how those were created.
Hi I am curious why you put holes in the posts instead of coping the horizontal pipes? Love watching your projects.
It takes out the pin point precision . Punch marks gotta be right but that’s easier than length having to be spot on coping .Looks better in my opinion to .
Looking good there buddy, c'mon 👌😎
odd question, since youre back in oklahoma do you still use your press or ya just dropoff at the cleaners again?
Does your customer raise bison or did he just want this heavy a fence? Seems somewhat overdone for just a ranch entrance
He just wanted heavy fence. No live stock. At least not to my knowledge.
Are you able to refer back to the course and its material at a later date or is it a one time thing??
You can refer back to it as much as you want. You have access to it as long as it exists.
@@arosswelding Awesome thanks Austin I appreciate the info and speedy response! I'll have to enroll and check it out.
Literally no one:
A Ross: did someone say pipe fence
Had a quick question i know the video is old but how do you line up the fence when you don't have a line to go off of
There's some pipe fence here in NE Texas. Wife asked how much it costs. A lot dear, just a lot......
That was a lot of cutting. How many tanks of oxygen and acetylene did you guys go threw on that job?
How long does a fence like this last? Do the posts or rails rot away? I live in ohio with a lot of himidity
ive done this kinda work before! hire me!! lol.
Good lord... what does it cost per lineal foot to install a fence like that?
Is that circle burner for the small torch? I guess I could go ahead and look on the website because I want one lol good job bud we have to do what we have to do and it’s also pretty good living without the oil patch and pipe lines
Austin, i know you’re in the stillwater area. Seen you a few times. I go to the meridian technology center for welding, on my 2nd year now. if you ever need a hand or would be letting me tag along to learn i would love to. Thank you!
When will the fence course be available again?
We will offer it again this fall. Possibly a flash sale before then. Make sure you text TRADE SCHOOL to 405-643-7176
We will send out a text when enrollment opens.
Why don’t you cut the ends of the pipe that go horizontally instead of the vertical pieces?
Could someone explain to me the upside of using a straight torch with a circle burner vs angled with a circle burner?
Pipe is SOooo expensive these days, I don't see how anyone can afford a pipe fence.
Thanks
дуже гарно
Looks great! I'd be interested but where do you buy the pipe?
@@arosswelding Oh, sorry. Your course. I have property and coincidentally, I just recently had a new entrance cleared out. I am a very inexperienced welder, recently retired, but even if I don't build it my self, I'll know what to look /plan for. Your channel is always a learning experience, so many thanks for that!
what are you fencing? Buffalo?
what the cost pr foot in materials for this? That cant be a cheap alternative.
They could use you on the border
How much would that cost it looks expensive but how much in the ball park
cool
Is this incase the zombies come? That is a damn strong fence
Where do you get the pipe? Is it from a metal supply or is it old drill pipe? I looked into getting 2” pipe in Florida and it was about $21/ft 40ft joints. I wish I could get some old drill pipe.
Here in central Texas drill pipe full joint 50$ 2 7/8 pipe. 10’ is around 15$. Get a trailer and go get some.
@@richardmedeiros1098 where exactly in central Texas. Thank you for the info beforehand
@@allenurioste8588 I found the material for sale on Facebook marketplace in Austin to.
Alot of material for sure.
Круто!
Make the top one spin, so is some tries to jump it they will roll off.
золотой забор получается, железо как золото стоит
Need to run electrical for lighting and auto gate opening. 😜
Dónde puedo conseguir ese tipo de antorcha?
Where could someone possibly get some old well drilling sticks?
Hey I seen you had a video that you talked about you’re jib pole for the back of you’re truck I can’t find it can’t you post the link I want to say it was the one where you made the over head Entry gate
www.arosswelding.com/shop?category=Digital%20Prints
I think I talk bout it in this video
ua-cam.com/video/ikiCQSWyDqQ/v-deo.html
And this one:
ua-cam.com/video/rwei1_Us7Jc/v-deo.html
And really prob a couple others.
@@arosswelding no the video was the one where you built the entry fence in you’re driveway by the shop you takes about it I just can’t find the video
i always asked my self why no one ever made a fence from welded pipes as in my mind itd last longer then then the usual wooden stuff or even wire and the metal bars holding it up so its awesome seeing its actully a thing
Depends on the area. A lot of it is repurposed oilfield pipe so it cheaper than other fence material. So if you’re in an area with a lot of pipe available it’s used, otherwise it can be a lot more expensive
Will the Fence Course be via Zoom?
Not zoom but it will be online. Several videos and posts all broke Down into a detailed step by step organized fashion.
www.arosswelding.school/pipe-fence
Great looking fence and
entry way. I know that's
alot of work but the finish
product is going to be worth the effort. P.S. That
gin pole set up is a life
saver.
Rail size ?
Wish you lived in Northern NV. 😉
Beautiful fence! What do they have... a herd of Rhino's???
That is some big pipe and big bucks, especially in this biden economy with inflation. Same steel pieces I bought a year ago are 20% more now.
Where is this?
The Bob Ross of pipe fence just puts you in a good mood and makes you want to build a fence
