Hey Nathan & Lee. I just bought #44 and it's a 5 string. It's been so well taken care of. It's like new. A few things were missing out of the case. That's easy to replace. But man is this a nice instrument. Versatile and light. Mine weighs in at 9.3lbs. And it's balanced. The versatility and playability are "over the top".
I got to play this in August when I went in to Andertons to get an octave pedal. If I’d had the cash I’d have walked out with the 4 string. Best bass Ive played.
best basses! got to go to the nashville showroom and see this model for myself a week ago, including tons of custom shops, loved it, favorite basses, got myself a custom shop stryker and 2 thumbs, great stuff.
Thanks to the Barts and maple necks, those Warwicks don't sound nearly as horrible as Warwicks with MECs usually do. Still not quite my tone but not that bad, especially for a Warwick. Oh, and this "original shape" was actually stolen from from Spector. They finally settled and Warwick paid Spector for using the shape but it doesn't change the fact you can't really call this shape "Warwick's original".
I only discovered Warwick basses recently. It was a revelation. Nothing cuts like it. Bloody brilliant.
They are super underatted, I feel they should be upthere with Fodera, ken smith, etc...
