Thank you very much for these analysis videos, Marius and Elena! With most songs I have a very hard time recognizing where "1" starts, and these videos help me a lot!

      Glad you found it usefull.
The best way is to learn besic music theory and apply it progressively.
But, a trick, is to look for in the end of a phrase, and then catch the most clear "1" and keep counting from them.

For that break (0:56), what do you do in dance floor? I mean, after that break (1-2-3-4), it starts from 1 instead of 5.

Hello. You can do a suave, or a mambo, or a wave, or just "stop" like a break in dancing. Of course, not just stop, but add something "dramatic" to that stop :)) gonna make a video about that :D

Hello, Marius! At 2:36 (phrase X) you call it mambo, but bongo & guira plays a Maja'o rhythm. And in your other videos you're not calling the section of guitar solo a mambo section. So is mambo terms just refers to guitar solo section (with any rhythm of bongo, guira & bass) of term mambo means a specific rhythm pattern (originated from merengue) which incorporates all the instruments including bongo, guira & bass. Because people have arguments on the right meaning of the term mambo, which seems to have too many meanings at the same time. So is is a section name or a rhythm name? Or we can use it in both cases?

Heeey. I use the term mambo, as you intuited, as the part of the song where usually the guitar goes crazy, the "good" part for doing footwork or something crazy.
So the term mambo = the improvisational part (it can be the guitar, without the other instruments, or also the other instruments as well).
I said in the video... mambo - like the part in salsa where you do shines :D
Hope this clears things a bit :D

@@MariusElenaBachata Thank you for the quick answer!) Have you ever came across the actual mambo rhythm in bachata music which being executed on Bongo, Guira etc. same as they do in Derecho & Majao, some specific rhythmic pattern. I hurd and read in various articles that the rhythm is syncopated and it's like riding a horse, that it has a jazz influence to it.
