I am not a Blackburn fan.In fact,I have never visited England, but I find this video amazing as it shows how great everything was 20-30 years back. When football was truly a sport for the people and was not being ruined by money.
In many ways, I miss the old ground as it was back then, So many great memories, But Jack Walkers 95 premiership title winners will never be bettered. R I P Uncle Jack,
I started going with my Dad in about 1962, when Bryan Douglas and Ronnie Clayton were the big name players and Rovers were in The First Division. We always stood pretty centrally on the Riverside - early on the young lads were allowed to go ‘over the wall’ on a long, very low wooden bench. At half time fans would move along the terrace to get the view they wanted. Dad always worked on Saturday morning so we nearly always missed the kickoff. It took quite a while before I found out how the teams chose ends.
One or two sour comments on this historic Lancashire football club ,shame on you, in 1979 we were on the crest of a wave, which culminated in Jack Walkers big investment, which took this great club to the summit of English football. great times.

If you ever went to most grounds 30 odd years ago, the last thing you’d call them are great.

Never been as scared for my life as I was in the Riverside stand for an FA cup game in about 82 or 83. Thought the whole thing was going to come down.
