Hi! If you could answer this, I'd def subscribe! I'm wondering if the FHD config (1920×1200) of the 2022 Asus M16 is also color accurate? And is the 12700H config of this laptop faster than last year's M16 with i9/RTX3060?
@@Hothardware Too bad that intel locked undervolting for the H SKUs. All previous generations had it unlocked. Anyway, thanks for the answer. Keep up the good work :)
Really, 720p is just fine for Zoom calls. I really don't need someone on a call having the ability to count the number of freckles on my forehead. Actually, the number of video calls are dropping quickly as more folks head back to the workplace so this is becoming less of a need.
Appreciate your opinion but I totally disagree and no one is going to be counting freckles, even at 1080p. It all depends on your use case. If you don't have a problem not having better quality video conference quality, then that's fine, but there are lots of folk working from home or in a hybrid work role now. And also a 1080p camera doesn't increase cost much at all, so it's kind of a no brainer.
Which do you think is better the m16 same specs or the msi gs66 (i7 12th gen) rest of the internal specs are the same. Price wise the Asus is $150 cheaper than the msi also.
what do you think about the position of the fans in the front that blow air into the screen? i got this laptop few weeks ago and i see i have a small plastic peel in the bottom of the screen.

Great review! Where can consumers purchase the 16gb soldered memory version of the M16? Everything being sold currently (Best Buy, Amazon etc) is only available with 8gb soldered and a SO-DIMM, so there's no real 32gb option.
Thanks for watching! Good question. I'll ask our contacts there but this config just might not be out in the channels yet. Mash that subscribe button y'all! :D Thanks!
Literally can't decide between this and Alienware X14. The laptop I get will be my desktop replacement. I need Thunderbolt for eGPU and also USB-C with DisplayPort to connect to external dock where I have 2 screens + bunch of external HDDs/peripherals connected. A ton of laptops offer the above, but a ton of them also have power delivery baked into the Thunderbolt/USB-C, lol. It's pretty much between these two at the moment. Leaning towards Alienware though as it's 14".
The x14 is a much smaller machine and really nice, but not as powerful as well. Will totally drive multiple displays but just doesn't have as much gaming horspower as this machine.
@@Hothardware Thanks for the comparison. On the same boat as the previous person in regards to this and the x14 (32G, RTX3060) but since you've done both machines, does the M16 get much hotter and is it that much noisier than the Alienware x14?
@@Goalier95 no I wouldn't say it gets much hotter. There's more thermal area to dissipate the heat in a 15 or 16-in machine. The x14 is a much smaller machine.
@@Hothardware Thanks for the reply! Would you say the screen is nicer on the M16 since it's a higher resolution or does the x14 fare better with its crispness even though it's only 1080p? I'd like to have as much deep black levels as possible.
@@Goalier95 I would say the display for the M16 is just a bit nicer and there is a higher resolution option as you pointed out. The x14's display is solid but much more geared toward gaming. The M16 is also a great gaming display at 165Hz too but it's IPS, versus the x14's VA panel, and just seems a bit punchier and more accurate with slightly better viewing angles. If you plan to do more than just gaming, I'd say the M16's panel gets the nod, though the x14's design and build quality has an edge over the M16, if you don't mind all your ports on the rear of the machine that is.
OK so i waas running Apex Legends on turbo mode, and i could not touch my laptop (except the w a s d keys), and i checked the armoury crate, it was way ovr 85C, is it even okay? i live in India, and it is hot here right now. How do i reduce the temperature, so i could atleast touch my keyboard and not burn my fingers or do i really have to get an external keyboard for gaming?
I would say it's very similar to our video loop rundown test, in that scenario. Something like 5 hours of uptime at moderate display brightness (not full tilt).
@@yusufdomun303 actually, in light duty workloads like video playback, battery life is solid with Intel 12th Gen. It's only when you push it that it eats battery, but that's true with any gaming laptop.

Nope the the ge76 and alienware feeds its gpu way more wattage so you won't even get as close to the performance as those bad boys but lenovo legion 5 pro is close (check out jerrods tech)
