My youngest son worked at St Mary’s Lodge for two seasons. I visited him and experienced the beauty of Glacier National Park. Thanks for taking us along!

Wow guys, great campground, even when the water takes a little longer to get just right, having a shower is awesome. And lots of empty spots...great drone shots. You just can't beat those views.

Thanks Nicole, yes, having a base camp with showers is a nice luxury for us, LOL. Really convenient to all the hiking on the east side of Glacier too, bonus.

Lots of nice features and such a pretty spot for the tent camping.

Thanks, yeah, we liked the place. Made it easy to hit all the hiking spots on the east side of the park!

Looks like a nice area, a little disappointed your not driving a Subaru!

My leases were up and I wasn't ready to commit to anything. This Jeep (bought used) has been a road trip workhorse! But I definitely miss the gas economy of the Subaru.

Thanks Max. It's rare that I make camp reservations, but when I do, I look for videos similar to this, so I know what I'm getting into, LOL!

Really nice camp ground! Restaurant was beautiful. I liked where you guys camped the best. I didn't like the RV one. I'd like to stay in one of those cabins! From the air the Rv one looks like a feather. Thanks guys

Haha yeah it really does look like a feather! A cabin would definitely be nice. Thanks for watching, Chris!

Looks like fun! When we went in ‘21, the smoke was bad. You can get pretty remote on the trails outside the park up on the NW side of that region.

    • @SlonesWildernessExpeditions

No smoke this time. We didn't have much time for exploration outside of the park, but I guarantee we'll be back!

Looks like a nice campsite. Never heard of token showers.

It's just a way to make sure only registered campers are using the showers. Nice place for a base camp!

Man I cannot wait to head out west. Thank you for uploading this footage. Amazing part of the country. I see you are a Jeep man now. What happened to change your mind from team Subaru? 🥳

I owned Jeeps long before I ever drove Subarus! 🤣 My lease was up and I wasn't ready to commit to anything, so I bought a used Trailhawk, a little more capable than the average Subie.

@@SlonesWildernessExpeditions Thanks for the response. I valet parked for years. I've bee n inside everything. I have a special place in my heart for subarus because how well they handle in the snow and the wrx. You must get a lot of vacation time from work. I'm glad you use it the best way you can.

@@philphilison1623 I work at the Subaru plant here in Indiana, so I have a reason to stick with them in the long run. They definitely drive better than any Jeep!

@@SlonesWildernessExpeditions Seeing a the amount of cars flying out of the Subaru factory at night during an end of shift is a sight to be seen. People could sit on the hill on route 38 and watch the employees zoom out of there lol. Hopefully the cops never do with speeding tickets ready in there hands. I met a lot of people who told me they worked at Subaru when I lived in Lafayette.

So this campground isn't part of Glacier National Park correct?

    • @SlonesWildernessExpeditions
      @SlonesWildernessExpeditions  Місяць тому

Correct, it's independently owned, right outside of the St. Mary entrance to the Going to the Sun Road.
