Here’s a tip on how to avoid digging tent stakes . Tent stakes will always have that nice silver high pitch tones if your coil is hitting the ends of the tent stake . But if you listen and reposition yourself going 90 180 and 360 around the target you will hear the low tone grunt ending with a high pitch as you cross over the tent stakes middle than back to the ends. With my equinox 900 they usually have a VDI of -7 to -9 as you move across the stake. With my Manticore I have the VDI showing red numbers on Ferrous metals. But then again if you don’t dig it that nice piece of Jewerly or coin could be masked by the metal holding more magnetism.
You are absolutely correct and I hope people reading/watching are using this as standard practice when it comes to any target regarding the 90/180/360. One thing you dont see on our videos is us doing this to determine if a target is worth of turning on the camera, otherwise if we did, the videos would be "hours" long. One other thing to add is I run a user custom program which is very close to factory settings on beach 2, but depending on the intensity of cell/wifi/mineralization/underwater I will adjust sensitivity and ground balance/find another channel often. And, if that doesnt work, a few times I've had to take my coil cover off and clean the coil which helped in our sugar sand scenario during a long many hour hunt. We have a video coming up where our machines were freaking out due to the total density of people in a huge resort face timing the sunset where we direcly in their line of sight.
